Craftsman bar clamps are apparently back in stock. They haven’t been available to ship or in store for me for many months. They were previously made in Europe by Wolfcraft. Will be curious to see if they’re still from them.

$149.99 Original Price but Average seemed to be around $99.99 on price tracker.
$85.10 Current Price

$76.59
-$10 off $75 or more purchase
$66.59

Sounds like the bar clamps are still safe, then! (Sears must've caught up on their bills with them instead of switching to a cheaper vendor.) Wolfcraft has a factory in Slovakia. Here's a video from it:

BTW, does anyone know if Wolfcraft makes the Craftsman F-clamps too? e.g. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-6in-f-clamp-passive-lock/p-00961840000P

I don't really see it working there, but you never know. Pull up to the front door, call Corey and tell him to bring your order out to you and see what happens. If the kid that wears the rebel flag hat is there, don't expect a lot. I was in there a couple of weeks ago and Corey told him the grass needed mowing. He walked up to me and asked me if I would like test drive a Craftsman mower. When I left he had mowed one strip of grass and parked the mower with a sign on it that said free test drives. Gotta give him credit for trying.

I don't understand Sears thinking on the store pickup. I see trying to make things more convenient for customers, but it seems like they would want to get people in the store so they will have a chance to buy more stuff.

The customer pickup area at some (many?) stores won’t encourage sales. The area at my area store is a run down reminder of how far Sears has fallen. Encouraging customers not to go inside there might make them more likely to drive around to the main entrance.

They actually got a brand-new production run of Nextec stuff just last month, according to the reviews, after having been out of stock since last year. Sears has somehow managed to revive several vendor relationships / product lines recently, as unlikely as it seems at this point in their life.

After the nearest stores restocked the Nextec Multi-tool, I haven't seen anymore progress.

Anyone else have more Nextec items resurrected at their stores?

They are trying to show people that you can buy online and conveniently able to pick up at local stores without stepping out of the car. I think the program is aimed for people who will never come to the store in first place. Local grocery store has similar program, and seems to make good amount of business.

Yeah but with grocery it can be a real time saver, especially if you have little kids... Instead of having to walk all around the store, they just bring it out and load it up for you and you are off on your way...

I think Sears is just doing it to try and follow the fad...

I've had quite a few items shipped from lowes because of their free parcel shipping, and the fact that even if it says there is 100 of something in the store they still can manage to be out of stock!!! So rather than drive there, waste my time looking for something that doesn't exist, get pissed off, drive to HD, get item, and FINALLY get home... I'll just order & have it shipped and it will come in a day or two...

Sure looks like it:

http://www.wolfcraft.com/en/products/p/sc_screw_clamps/sc_screw_clamps/s/p/index.html

I don’t have any of the Craftsman F clamps. How are they?

Cool. The Craftsman ones changed design slightly a couple years ago, but looks like Wolfcraft's changed identically (flat bar vs grooved), so they must still be the mfr. I don't own any yet, but have been eyeing them for eventual purchase-with-points once fewer things remain on my wish list.

I don't mind using Harbor Freight clamps of some other varieties (I'm not that hard on them), and HF's F-clamps are able to get the job done for a fraction of the price-before-points of the Craftsman ones, but the casting/finish of the arms on HF's F-clamps are just sooo rough/unattractive in comparison to the Craftsman/Wolfcraft ones. (There's been a couple stray F-clamps hanging around at my local Sears throughout the low-stock period.)

As best I can tell from the small number of reviews of the Craftsman ones, and checking them out in the store, I think anyone would be happy with their quality. :)

The Wolfcraft website shows a “Made in Europe” bug on some products. But among those that don’t include that bug are the one handed clamps.

At least XJPat said some of the clamps at his store are definitely from Slovakia.

Update: I took a look at the current Craftsman clamps at my store this evening. The one-hand trigger bar clamps (example) are still made in Slovakia. The F-clamps/screw clamps (example), however, are now all made in China (my store now had at least 2 of every size, and I checked 'em all) and have a notably rougher casting/finish for the clamp arms than what I could swear I remember them looking/feeling like before - much more similar to Harbor Freight's (which cost about 1/4 as much - example) than I thought they used to be. The bar on the Craftsman F-clamps does still look a bit nicer cosmetically than HF's, at least (nickel? plating vs some sort of black finish), but personally I'm feeling even less inclined to use points on these while there's still anything else left at Sears that I want.

It's been a couple years since I first tried the Sears in-vehicle order pickup.

I originally thought it was a big improvement on Kmart's MyGofer. I didn't have to walk all the way to the back of the store, and I didn't have to page an employee to stop what they're working on and come work in the MyGofer pickup area.

If Sears ever gets their act together with fulfilling orders correctly, then I'll start using in-vehicle pickup again.

Oh, I see. The SZ screw clamp model has the "Made in Europe" icon.

The SC model looks the most similar to the Craftsman version, but doesn't have the "Made in Europe" icon.

For the one-hand models, I am seeing the "Made in Europe" icon on all the pages.

If anyone else has an interest in weight plates, these can be used either with or without an Olympic bar, due to built-in handles. (Also useful for weighing down things that need to be held flat. ;) ) I decided to use my points this weekend on a pair of a size I didn't have yet, because this is the lowest price I've ever seen this particular variety go down to (though I haven't been checking consistently). In-store is still full price (and will be just 10% off tomorrow for F&F).

Weider 25 lb. Olympic Handle Hammertone Plate
http://www.sears.com/weider-25-lb-olympic-handle-hammertone-plate/p-00615843000P
$32.99 regularly, $16.21 online sale (51% off, including the F&F 10% off)

Tip for anyone else who likes to pick out the best-looking items: The paint sometimes has minor blemishes on these (but not as bad as their painted dumbbells and kettlebells can be). When I went by the store this evening to look at the clamps, it was also to check out the weights they had in stock before placing my order online. There were 3 of these, so I rearranged them on the rack so the two I liked best were in front, hoping that means the merchandise pickup person will grab those two (and if they don't, I'll know there's a better one to insist on swapping for). I placed the order from my smartphone and hung around for a few minutes in case they decided to fill it right away, but they didn't... and still haven't an hour and a half later... I guess they'll get around to it tomorrow. Would've just done an in-store price match, but I had a coupon these didn't quite add up to enough for, and wanted to combine the purchase with a small online-only filler item.

OK  What did you go with for the second item to hit $35?

Picked up a small pry bar. Then I used the points I earned to get an insulated pair of needle nose from Knipex. Saved about $20 on that second purchase. Now I'll be set on pliers for long time.

I just ordered 2 of the 24" one handed trigger clamps. I got them for $35.41 shipped. I hope they are better than the HF clamps. The Craftsman clamps seem heavier.

Be prepared to trash all your HF clamps and replace them with the Craftsman ones.

F&F 10% off has now been extended online through Tuesday 5/8.

Many people apparently received a $5 off $5+ freecash offer this morning, also good just for through Tue 5/8; check your offers on sears.com or shopyourway.com. There was a similar Sun-Tue $6 off $6+ offer sent out to some people last week, that one didn't work for me but this one did.

Thanks. Ordered two of these for delivery with the $15 off $30 free cash in sporting goods. Admittedly the primary purpose is for weighing down items during glue ups :D

Oh, that's a perfect offer for this deal! I only had a $5 off $35 sporting goods to use, so had to get a $3 filler item (a "Digi-Squeeze" ball).

How does the f&f work? I placed a riding mower in my cart and the price never went down.

The price online already reflects the 10% off (through Tuesday). If you were buying in store (today only, and most stores close at 6pm local time on Sundays), the 10% reduction would be applied at the register as a coupon.

Here's another impending closure, in Tyler, Texas. No dates yet.

Tyler Planning and Zoning Commission approves changes at Broadway Square Mall; Sears building to be demolished
By Erin Mansfield
May 1, 2018

" The building holding Sears at the Broadway Square Mall will be demolished as part of a plan for major changes on the property.

The mall owner is seeking to tear down the building where Sears is located and construct a new building in its place “to accommodate a new tenant,” according to city of Tyler staff.
...
Simon Property Group, which owns the mall, submitted paperwork to the city in March seeking approval for a new site plan for the property.
...
A spokesman for Sears Holdings did not return voicemail messages seeking comment left Monday and Tuesday. A spokesman for Simon Property Group said Monday that more details would be released “in the coming months.”

Thanks. I was afraid of that. The extra sale today is higher than the item I've been looking at has been in the recent past. Guess I will stick with the original plan and hit up the local John Deere, Cub Cadet, and Simplicity dealers tomorrow.

Yeah, most sale prices really did get reduced by an additional 10% for the sale, but some went back up to full price temporarily and then came down 10% from that.

Is it a 'Hot Buy'? Some types of tags on a product page block the additional F&F discount.

Are the one handed 36 inch Craftsman clamps any good? Much flex to them? I've got 50 bucks in points to use up and can't really think of anything I need or want. I've already got several 36 inch pipe clamps... Any other suggestions?

Any bar type clamp, like these Craftsman one handed ones, will have the potential to flex more than a pipe clamp. I have used similar bar clamps from Harbor Freight, Texton, Irwin, Yost and Dewalt. I think these Craftsman clamps are stronger than any of those other ones.

The Wolfcraft clamps don't rattle off like the irwin's or Harbor freights do. If I didn't already own a dozen irwins I'd replace the whole lot. The wolfcraft craftsman clamps get all the use if the application vibrates in any way. If static clamping I think they are about equal.

Just want to say that I appreciate everyone chiming in re: clamps. I bought another 24in. I was going to wait until I get one in my hands before ordering another, but sounds like it is a pretty decent deal.

How difficult is it to get price adjustments after a purchase and how many days after purchase do you have?

Also if I bought during friends and family will they adjust the price difference before the 10% off or just compared to the price after the 10% friends and family?

EDIT: NVM found my answer. 30 days. Just talked with them and got $16 +tax refunded on my C3 Impact Wrench.
