Not really a Sears deal per se, but I just stumbled upon Orchard Supply Hardware, which still carries many of the older made-in-USA Craftsman pliers, via Google Express. So if you're like me, and have an incomplete collection of the old Western Forge-made Craftsman pliers that you've been wanting to complete but can't because they're all out of stock through Sears, this is a pretty good deal.

Free shipping on orders $25 or more, and a couple promo codes right now for 25% and 20% off your order:

First-time users of Google Express can use code APPSPECIAL through the Google Express mobile app for 25% off (max discount $30). Alternatively, if you can't/won't install the mobile app, use SPRING20 for 20% off (max $20 discount I think).

If you're not a first-time user, you can use DEAL20 for 20% off (max $20 discount), which means you could use one of the above codes on one order, and then this code on a subsequent order.

Anyway, I was able to finally get the Craftsman 8-inch Linesman pliers for $17, and the 8-inch duckbill pliers for $15.

https://express.google.com/s?m=8613692&q=craftsman pliers

FYI, there are also a lot of decently priced Knipex on Google Express through Walmart, which can use the same promo codes. I stumbled upon the Craftsman pliers through OSH when I was perusing from the Google Express Knipex deal posted on Slickdeals a couple days ago.

Harry J Epstein's also has a lot of USA Craftsman (and other brands)...

I never understand why I can not buy online and pick this up at local store, but I can do that if I want to pick up at different hometown store, 40 min away, in smaller city. I been wanting one, but not going to drive 40 min to get there, and 40 min back just for $10 box.

Annoying :lol_hitti

Bought this last night. Seems pretty decent for $12.71.

DeWalt DW2235IR 5-Piece Magnetic Impact Ready Nutsetter Set

http://www.sears.com/dewalt-5-piece...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

I have the same issue. And this is when I have seen stock in person earlier in the day.

Some Sears also have a DeWalt 3-pack of pivoting nut drivers. Very nice impact accessory. I have used them twice in the last day. Ended up buying the other 2 sizes that the 5 pack has through Zoro as fillers. $15 regular price.

...

From what I've seen, if any of the stores in your 'area' (used to be 50mi radius, changed to 100mi a few months ago) have the item in stock, Sears usually doesn't let you ship-to-store at any closer stores you would actually want to go to. (Franchise and corporate stores are all treated the same for this purpose. Sometimes a Hometown store over an hour away from me has some item, so I can't ship it to my local corporate store, only ship to home.) They're trying to save money on shipping at the expense of frustrating customers, I'm sure.

Because they are separate businesses, see earlier discussion for a more complete explanation.

I guess I should have mentioned that both hometown store is owned by same person.

That make sense that they try to save on shipping. I may need to make a trip to that store sometime just to see what else they have in store

Extech BR80, rebranded as Craftsman. Might be good for a backup:

Craftsman Borescope $54.20 ($44.20 after coupon)

Free S&H, or ship-to-store.

Not a Hot Buy, so use a $10 off $50 tools coupon from RetailMeNot.

Used this yesterday. Works pretty good. Some reviewer's say the screen is to small, or doesn't focus good, or light no good. But I found it works pretty well. I also prefer to have a dedicated tool, rather than putting an eBay camera on a smartphone or a laptop. The tool seems very rugged, and used it all day long under the hood of a very greasy engine compartment. Could bang it around with no problems. Wouldn't want to do that with a new iPhone. I think I'll get another $5 Craftsman bag once I build up some points to get it free. That would be the perfect size to hold this tool. Because it doesn't come with a case. It is just the tool, with a couple attachments like magnet, hook, and mirror that clips to the end. (but didn't use any of those yet). It also included a set of 4 AA batteries. I ran the included batteries all day, and they still have juice. I was surprised that batteries were included, and even more surprised they were fresh batteries. I half expected the batteries to be dead in the package, thinking the tool might have been in a Sears warehouse for years.

This sure beats using an inspection mirror under the hood.

Got this old stock USA red e-coated giant punch today and it triggered the bounce back. IMG_20180517_175239619_HDR.jpg

The store must have moved around some aisles in the tool section. Did you ask if they "discovered" any other old items recently?

Does your borescope look like the website photo?

Or did you receive a newer version that is black-colored (not red & black), with the power button located above the image rotation button?

Yeah, they started giving out those Jun 1-30 bounceback coupons last week/weekend. Unfortunately since the start date is so far away, that means those of us who've already received one can't receive another for weeks even if they continue giving them out to other people, since they use the same coupon code every time and it can only be linked to your account with one value at a time. (But those who still have a local Kmart in addition to a corporate Sears can get one of each, since the Kmart versions have a different code they use every time.) Other types of offers will still keep coming, though.

Can the Kmart amount vary from what you get from Sears offer? Was debating weather to do a Kmart run tomorrow, as I'm delivering the stand from the Amazon Dewalt deal close enough for me to consider stopping. Not one of my favorite stops.

They even vary at Sears.

The customer in front of you at the Sears checkout may get a $10 of $10 freecash coupon, but you may get a $6 off $6 freecash coupon. Or maybe even nothing.

Yep, you never know what you're going to get, but you'll probably get something - they are especially generous with offers/coupons at Kmart lately, from what I've heard. It's a lot easier to pick up something cheap that you can use at a Kmart than at a Sears; even a bottle of water or soda should generate things.

Sorry. Perhaps not phrased correctly. That I know. I'm saying if I got a $9 off at Sears, will it be $9 off at Kmart?

edit: sorry, thought we were in the SYW thread. probably does matter. here are 2 cheaper unique items to burn points on, free ship to store (all Barnel stuff is). The first does need to be sharpened. Ordering the other now

Barnel Curved Hook
Barnel Curved Serrated Hook

and just noticed these items which are now all on my list to buy. happily surprised to see them too. I might becoming a Hori Hori whorder (will be my 3rd one, after getting a Fiskars on clearance at HD last week).

Grafting Wax
Tool Sharpener
Hori Hori Knife

The values you get at Sears are independent of the values you get at Kmart, and vice-versa. Someone on SD got a $7 off $7 at one store and $10 off $10 at the other store, last week.

Yeah they were moving many of the isles. They took all the tools and had them on wire racks while they were putting up new pegs. I checked everything they had on the racks knowing that there would be something that fell through the cracks. There was also a -V- socket but other than that nothing else.

Also found this that I guess they had just found in back old stock. Bought it on the app pick-up in store for the discount and 30% back. I found a single 1/4 USA old stock awhile ago so now I've got nearly the whole set. IMG_20180517_185814942.jpg

Thanks! I've been waiting for a different cabinet to go on sale, but for the price, I couldn't resist this one. Now we play the waiting game...

Thanks -- I ordered one today to add to the other unit that shipped from the last time.

I guess I have room for this one too. I see that with my other purchases I've maxed out my 30% points back for this period so ordering a third cabinet is now less attractive, doh!

With my points I've been picking up an assortment of the Wolfcraft rebadged 12,24,36-inch clamps for woodworking projects.

Well I drove home from work, decided to order another without the points, and either you bought the last one or they caught on. I'll be very happy if just the one ships now.

OOS for me as well. I was mad that I missed the last one, came home from work and saw this post but alas it was not meant to be... I'll keep the page up for a day or so to see if it comes back in stock. It worked for me to do that with the old school Craftsman rubber water hose that goes in and out of stock apparently

And back in stock [at $299]. :spit:

The same price mistake twice this month? :wtf:

At this point I think it must not be a mistake, just a surprisingly good short-term sale. My theory on what's going on (though I have no idea why they're selling a NewAge cabinet that cheap in the first place): When they sell however many units they decided to allocate at the bargain price, then it becomes unavailable until they reset the price higher. Kinda like what they did on the points-back-for-the-next-x-months deal items, but with a much smaller quota, unadvertised, and not as well-automated (so some orders can slip through after their intended quota and then they cancel those).

The total number of Sears/Kmart stores in now-Seritage-owned buildings known to be scheduled for a April 27-mid-July liquidation has now reached two dozen, after a lot of reporters' research to get that put together since there has still been no official list release. (This is the same closing stores list that had 9 stores on it when I first posted about it on Mon 4/16.)

https://www.stamfordadvocate.com/te...g-more-stores-and-selling-others-12825378.php

Kmart

More closings have been trickling out. Business Insider's list of the 24 mid-July closings (22 Sears, 2 Kmart) announced/discovered in mid-April has now, unfortunately, been updated with 16 additional later closings (9 Sears, 7 Kmart) lumped into the same list as the ones from last month. I've edited out the ones that were in last month's list of 24 (as quoted above), and added notes and sources about the rest.

Okay, all caught up on known closures again, for now. These are getting harder and harder to keep up with...

The tools department is completely borked on Sears.com this morning (Sun 5/20). It's coming up "Temporarily unavailable" on what seems like every dang item, things that would load fine the last few days and that I know are still in stores.

Someone on SD reported experiencing the same problem over 3 hours ago, and it's still happening. :(

(update: appears to be in the process of being fixed now, 11:30am CT)

^^? Finally taken off years of being on "life support" and has now died? :dunno:

What, the website malfunction? Nah, just some kind of temporary spurt of extra incompetence. Suddenly half-breaking their site while still having hundreds of stores open isn't how large companies like this shut down... and Sears has broken their site before in various ways, for hours. I'm sure they'll fix it, just a matter of how long it will take them... wouldn't be surprised if it takes until Monday. :dunno:

Still broken... Guess we might not see it fixed till people come into work tomorrow...

I wonder if I missed some price mistakes last night.

It appears that only the "Sold by Sears" portion is broken. So if there are multiple sellers for a tool, then you can still add it to your cart with a 3rd-party seller.

Chat rep didn't argue as usual about a possible website glitch, and said it will be resolved in 24-48 hrs. I mentioned I will just use Walmart.com, so then he said it will be resolved in less than 24 hrs. :lol_hitti

In addition to the tools department being unusable online today, I checked a few fitness department items and it looks like those are all "temporarily unavailable" too.

However, other departments do seem to be functional, including lawn & garden, outdoor living, home, and clothing.

(All pertaining only to items sold by Sears.)
