So let's get this right, your really happy with the impact tool that's made in CHINA but have concerns about the rubber boot not being made in the USA? lol :Homer:

Nope, try reading again. I don't like that I paid $22 for a boot made in China when even the trucks can sell me a US made cordless boot for less than $20. For the second time the quality is fine I just don't like the fact that 97.5% of the money went to some TTIs execs fifteenth house.

Gotcha  Maybe the good news is that as its made for Milwaukee it will have a better fit than the other tool truck ones. Enjoy your new impact, to be honest I'm a little jealous.

I bought a Bosch clpk22-120 drill set. I got it for $90. I found a sale at Frys and Lowe’s matched the price.

A happy Snap On Monday.

Finished off my 1/4" metric sockets with the mid length. Finally have shallow, mid, deep, and swivels. Maybe I'll add the mid length swivels, but definitely not in any rush.

T handle's were on promo and I've been eyeing them for a while. Also ordered the rack for them for my hutch. Got the torx and metric hex.

Last but not least, what's now my new favorite work light in gun metal. This little beast puts out 700 lumens. It also makes me really happy that Snap On is switching to USB type C connectors, as it does not matter which direction you insert the plug. With the old style connector, it seems like you have a 50% chance of getting it right, 10% of the time. lol

Overtime at work meant I had some extra cash and extra time. So to ebay I went and picked up 3 new tap wrenches. Got a G.T.D #7, Morse #5, and Morse #0 The G.T.D was really dirty and didnt slide very well so I cleaned it up and had to do some light filing. But not it is running perfectly. Also applied some "cold blueing" to it (brownells paste) which I like.

Also took a group picture of all the ones I have (outside of the cheap China ones that everyone has lol)

Last Saturday, I found myself at Menards with a couple of rebate checks.... This 10" Pliers Wrench looked lonely, so, I bought it and it's happily living with my others.

Those T-Handle metrics are a favorite of mine. Solid engagement. Havent had near the issues stripping fasteners after getting them.

Which rack are you getting? The description for the AWSTAND makes it sound like it’s not compatible with that style and I don’t see another rack listed.

Picked up a Klein multi-stripper/crimper at HD for $20, seemed like a good all-around pair to have in the toolbox in the SUV.

Also grabbed the Ideal cable cutters at Lowes on clearance for $6. I really didn't need another pair but I couldn't leave them there at that price.

I have the rack. Actually you have to buy 2 racks. One for metric and one for standard as they will not fit together on one rack. The spacing is off.

It's the stand for a peg board, not bench top. Good price too.

Ah ok. Never looked into those since I don’t have a hutch. Looks like they’ll work nicely in that application

That was my concern with that one. Guess I’ll have to find/make something else or deal with the trays.

What are your thoughts on a double wide Magrail TL with three “T” channels to organize your tools? What about ¾” and 1” socket pegs.

I like the concept but I do a lot of metal finishing in my shop and the metal dust sticks to anything magnetic.

So for me it would be a no go.

The magrail TL socket rails are great, albeit expensive. I would consider the triple wide rail for my 3/4" drive tools at work. If they're also triple the price, I don't think you'll have those at a price point where people will replace their existing plier and wrench racks.

I like the idea but I'd rather see single rails offered in other sizes and in red, blue and black. Other colors would probably be popular like orange or green. I would buy red and blue rails in 14" today if they were offered separately.

Yes 4.5”, 5”, and 6” I brought one home to fool around with I will snap a better pic...

r2uyi1.jpg

Grinder and a disc in each size (not included), the 6” wheel is huge, but I see the benefits.

These filled the void for me between my 4 small 4.5” grinders and 3 large 7” grinders...
now I can pretty much use/buy any disc be it grinding, cutting, or sanding from 2” to 7”
being able to use any sizes opens up a ton of options for buying discounted high quality abrasives.

A few years ago I picked up 100+ 4.5 wheels , carbide burrs, stones, wire cups and wheels. Along with a bunch of welding accessories. Off of CL for $200 dollars it was killer deal... I’m still using those...

Bought these from my wife’s grandma tonight. Grandpa passed away a little over a year ago now and she’s moving in with family. I’ll clean them up and then use some, and display some to remember him by.

Matco sells a 14" Magrail TL in black with a Rail Lifter only, no pegs. They call it 14" Magnetic Tool Holder. MAG14TH. Matco also sells a 6", 10" and 20" in black with a Rail Lifter and no pegs. You can also get a 24" black Magrail TL at the Vim tools website.
Hope this helps,
Ron

Ron, Matco has a stupid mark up on your product. $42.75 for a 14" rail with no pegs?! Tooltopia carries 16" rails with pegs for $27.50. Why pay more for less?

They're black. Easily 50% cooler-looking than the red or blue. They're not what everybody else has. And of course, there's the tool truck pricing. Just Matco carrying it adds a perceived value.

I agree, I have no control over pricing. In the future you may see the various lengths of Magrail TLs sold in the plastic tubes in the photo and the user will buy the pegs they need separately. This should include black and new lengths. These would be sold by all vendors.

OK here is how to cut your Magrail to the length you need. Protect the Magrail in your vise jaw (I use rubber) draw a line across the rail with a square at the length you want, preferably at a magnet seam.
Carefully tap the end magnet to push the magnet rows down the channel about an inch. Now go to the magnet seam you drew the line across and tap that portion of the magnet rows in the opposite direction (do this carefully from the top of the magnet channel) until the magnets start out the end of the rail

Next take your hacksaw with a fine blade and cut across the magrail where you drew the line. Do this slowly. When you cut slow you control the cut. When you cut fast the hacksaw controls the cut.

Take your two sections of magrail to a disc sander with a square and clean up the ends and touch them up with a matching marker. Place a little epoxy in the magnet channel and push the magnets back into position. Center the magnets in the rail. The only magnet overhang on each end should be about one half the width of the saw blade. Your two rails should look almost perfect. If you desire is a length other than at a magnet seam remove the magnet from the rail and cut it with an end cutter (a pair of dikes but the cutter is at 90 degree). When you reinstall the magnet put the cut end in with a little epoxy on it to keep the air from the raw magnet. Make sure you reinstall the magnets with the correct polarity up. Download the K&J Magnetics pole ID on your phone so you can check the polarity before you start.

If you just take the rail to a cut off wheel the heat will cause a loss of magnetism in the cut area plus the rail will look pretty bad.
Good luck,Ron

Just saying...Tooltopia sells the black rails. You just also happen to get the pegs, and an entire e-torx socket set with it. I would wager that since it's Matco, people would see that as a downgrade. :lol_hitti

Doing a flea market this weekend was done setting up for tomorrow. So I Took a stroll around and of course I had to find stuff to buy.. $20 bucks for everything all brand name, Weiler, 3m, and ty rap.

The 2 30’ rolls of Scotch Brite are what initially caught my interest.
