Back to deals please, folks...

This is the cheapest I have seen this socket set. It typically only goes down to 299.99.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-299-piece-ultimate-easy-read-socket-set/p-00935299000P

I need a full socket set and have been debating about buying this, if next week brings a spend $100 get $100 deal or spend $200 get $200 I may get it. I will have around $120 in points by then. I am still feeling pretty good about the SYW program continuing into the new year. I just hope I am able to spend them on knipex because I am almost done getting the craftsman tools I need. Although, I may start getting stuff to flip on Ebay if I run out things I want/need. That, or order a bunch of paper towels from Kmart!

Looks like all 3 of my stores are on the last list. Wondering if they are guaranteed to close December or not? ...

The fate of the 'last stores standing' will be determined in December, as I understand it. If they decide to put the remaining stores into liquidation then, instead of selling off what's left of the company, they will probably close for good in Feb 2019.

Prices fluctuate, so the price could be higher next week.

Looks like all 3 of my stores are on the last list. Wondering if they are guaranteed to close December or not? Chula Vista is managed to not have any sales or price matching, and deny most tool warranties yet is always packed. Methinks it turns a good profit, while terrible to shop at would still give me a pickup option. The other two on the last list do have deals including the unpublished secret clearance items. So the last list isn't just the high margin stores. My guess is some on that list will close and others won't.

-----------

Do they have price checkers for customers? I've been in stores where the staff didn't put out the sale tags for the week, but the price checker on the wall revealed they were in fact participating in the national sale prices.

This.

Some stores are “lazy” or “under staffed” or “ not worried” about it versus others mark everything that are discounted.

I’ve noticed the stores “affluent” areas are marked while the “less affluent” are not marked.

Granted this before all the store closings so there were more store options.

Yep, they have price checkers. Everything just rings up full price. They do "sorta" have sales, just like $1 off or something lame like that. No actual deals. This is actually a really poor Hispanic area, these folks just don't know any better and most buy items on Sears credit. If I find something I really need, that for whatever reason the website doesn't think the store has, I just buy it with no points cash and take it to the other Sears, return it, and then re-purchase with points so they won't mess up refunding and re-charging my points with the adjustment. I don't even give them my SYW number there.

That area (Chula Vista) is just a really bad area to buy anything. They have a row of new car dealers there, and every brand is the same. All cars are full MSRP every day of the week. No negotiating. Sears is no different. People come across the border and are able to buy things on credit with zero down. They don't really care about what it costs at the end of the day.

Wealthy areas have always been the best places to get deals in my SoCal experiences.

Huge Sears closing nearby. Ft Wayne Glenbrook mall anchor store two floors worth of tools, cloths and Kenmore. Tools/lawn and Garden are the size of a large Ace hardware all in. Even worked there for a short time many year ago.

I haven't bought anything that says Craftsman on it in 15+ years, no plans to. Not even nostalgic to watch plywood get screwed over the doors. They did it to themselves.

Anybody looking for Knipex to order, the Rivergate store in Nashville (zip 37072) this afternoon had 2 pair of the 10" Alligators on the wall. Website says they also have 9 1/2 inch end nippers, but I didn't see them out. However, a gal in order pickup told me that they were in the process of unloading a truckload of tools that was delayed by the bankruptcy filing.

Anyone purchase the new stuff?

Since there are already ratcheting drivers that hold bits, I'm not sure what to do with these.

Do you have a smartphone? I'm wondering what the store staff would say if you show the sale prices from the Sears Chula Vista weekly ad? :headscrat The ad shows items that are discounted a lot more than just $1 off.

I saw that in store the other day with no price tag. Tried looking online but wasn't available yet. I was wondering if they were going to have items fall by the wayside while in limbo, and perhaps not ever get put on the website. Obviously not. I went by tonight for an air fitting, and saw it $69.99 in store.

I also saw they're now offering a stainless steel bracelet for $19.99 when you buy $19.99+ OOP of other stuff from Sears.com, if any of you would be interested in that. Should combine with the $50-back deal.

https://www.sears.com/stainless-steel-double-franco-bracelet/p-A028107089

"$19.99! Mens stainless steel bracelet with any storewide purchase of $19.99 or more

I think Sears do not price match Amazon, but I think someone may have done this successfully? Anyway this might worth a shot:

Craftsman 9 pc. Easy-to-Read Impact Socket Set, 3/8-in drive Metric

$8.01:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008L2KXQA/?tag=atomicindus08-20

$19.99:
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-9-p...socket/p-00915881000P?redirectType=SKIP_LEVEL

I would have tried price match on this but not available for me locally.

"Ships from and sold by Amazon.com."

Hmmm...ever since the bankruptcy started, Amazon has been selling a lot of dirt cheap Craftsman tools. And they're not the new tools from SBD.

Someone probably found a pallet of these old stuffs in the warehouse. What I am curious is, if they find any US made sockets or wrench

Bad idea to purchase this?
:dunno: It seems to be a good product from what people are saying.

Up to you if you want to spend that kind of money at a dying company, but if you're in the market for a table saw anyway... If you wait a couple weeks it will probably be cheaper - Nov 4-6 Family & Friends 10% off sale - or you could buy now and price-adjust in chat later. Apparently there is a Ridgid version of it, and a Menard's Mastercraft version, all made by the same (well-regarded) Chinese contract manufacturer Rikon, so compare prices on those brands' versions to make sure you aren't over-spending on the Sears Craftsman version.

Bad thing is that in Puerto Rico only Sears sells that :(. Home depot don’t bring it here

Yes rikon seems to have a good following if that is the OEM

FWIW, according to showyourway.com, the lowest is $71.99, so this is great deal

It's available, again, for the same price:

Craftsman 2-Shelf Heavy-Duty Utility Cart - $67.66

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-34-1-2inch-2-shelf-heavy-duty-plastic/p-00959732000P

I got mine last week (shipped free... received the day after I ordered it)... and I'm happy with it... seems very sturdy. I'm actually thinking of getting a 2nd one.

If you're daring, could even pair with the current "Spend $50, Get $50 Back" deal... or wait until the upcoming Friends & Family sale... and see if it drops even lower.

It's amazing how much the offerings have shrunk since the bankruptcy. I have about $65 in points, can't really find anything worthwhile to buy. Browsed through the hand tools, didn't find anything useful. Prices seem high, and selection low.

Will buy 2 more sets of cobalt drill bits i guess. Those and welding rods have been my fallback for some time; but now they don't sell welding rod; Forney must have cut them off. Expendables like this are all that I really find to buy anymore.

Same boat here, $75 in points with another $50 on the way. There are a couple things I looked at, like a Capri Tools hex bit set, but the sold by sears price is $76 vs the other vendors at $50.

Doesn't appear to work on Auto. Weird omission, the 300/300 still takes precedence. Just got a car battery and no dice.

FYI, they will match Home Depot on those. Get the master hex and master torx.

I haven’t had them match before. Do I order and then use the chat to get the price adjusted, or chat before ordering and have them place it for me?

It doesn’t appear that the Capri Tools items qualify for the $50/$50 deal. They have a 30 piece router bit set for $85 that does.

this isn't the hottest deal, but still pretty decent if you need some of the bigger wrenches. metric are full price and the 2-3 top sizes aren't available in the 26-pc set (which i got earlier this year) and those big ones go for about $20+ each, so for the cost of 2 you can get 5

by the time you add a $10 off $40 (and hopefully use some points) then that makes this a decent price

Back to the deals

Sears craftsman 3 piece folding hex key set (in store) $9.99. Online last I checked yesterday was $19-20. UPC 09 9575467059. I had a $ 5 from order pickup card.
This is the multi color SAE, metric and Torx set.

Additionally from L & G Craftsman 36” long shoulder strap for your blower/trimmer. $1.47. UPC 02 4771024631. I was unable to find these online when I looked this fall.
Last year I saw them running from $ 8-12 in line.

Last is the Craftsman 2 toolbag set. 13 & 18 was 10.99. Yesterday it was $9.99
The 16”& 20” bag set was $16-17 almost half from the regular price of $29.99.

I don't see a 10 off 40 coupon. Can anyone direct me to it? Thanks!

those are random ones you can get in emails when you order or via freecash, etc. theyre common, but not everybody has one laying around and they are generally tied into each SYW account

They're not so common anymore, frequent customers mostly stopped receiving those in June, even when making large OOP purchases. You can usually still get a $5 off $35+ in Tools coupon from retailmenot.com (RMN) though.

The Sears app sent out a notification earlier today claiming that the 'spend $50, get $50 back in 2 installments' had changed to 'spend $50, get $75 back in 2 installments'... but I just got a corrected notification, it is still $50 on $50. :lol_hitti "Oops"
