I agree the 2pc impact screwdriver set is worthwhile, even when not at the lowest price. Made by Vessel. Under their own name, I don't think Vessel even makes a slotted impact screwdriver (if they do, I didn't see it on Amazon when I looked a few months ago), just JIS Phillips. So if the Craftsman set becomes unavailable, there's no close substitute.

Is the Craftsman Impact Screwdriver tip regular Phillips or JIS?

This is a re-branded Vessel and it comes with a tip that fits both. I don't have enough posts to make a link but search the Vessel website and it says "On the other hand, a Japanese cross-point screwdriver fits both JIS and Phillips® screws perfectly. If you don’t know what type of screw you are fastening, then we would highly recommend using a VESSEL Japanese cross-point driver since it’s universal for both screw types."

The Vessel set is technically JIS. JIS screwdrivers fit both Phillips and JIS screw heads great, but due to the slight design difference, Phillips screwdrivers **** on JIS screw heads. Another Phillips cousin for comparison, Pozidriv, cannot be used interchangeably in either direction without high risk of damage.

Here's an interesting tidbit from SD... someone wondered why their order of a supposedly-in-stock item for store pickup was taking days to tell them to come pick it up, and dampier knew a possible explanation besides incompetence/laziness, and how it's supposed to work instead. (This is what probably should have happened with my damaged prybar the other day - 'unsuitable for sale' designation with an email automatically offering to ship it to me for free - since the store was uncertain if they would receive any more of them.)

" Something is OOS or unsuitable for sale but probably on the way or likely, with experience, to be restocked and they are holding the order open to avoid a cancellation. They seem to have cut way back on those OOS emails where they offer to ship it to you or reserve it at another store.
In my experience, the person picking the order did me a favor because I always got what I ordered and I was told they weren't going to stick me with a damaged item. "

The hose pinch pliers that were $4.19 have now gone up to $12.99 online.
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-hose-pinch-pliers/p-00949283000P
After I ordered one for pickup last week, they became supposedly unavailable locally, according to the website (as if I got the 2nd-to-last or last one); today it still claims they're unavailable within 100 miles. However, when I was at my store on Sunday, they actually still had a peg full of these (far more than the last one they normally don't count in online inventory - I think there were like 5 or 6). They had a tag saying they were on an in-store sale for $7.something, Nov 4-Dec 1 IIRC. Something to be aware of if any of you wanted more of these than you were able to order.

I wish I would have seen this at $4

Thank you @Hexen! I know JIS is not the same as Phillips but that image finally make it clear for me.

I notice prices are now going back up on some items. Hopefully we will see some great deals here in the next few days. I am not sure why I keep checking Sears website. I think I am just addicted lol

 It will be a sad withdrawal when Sears and/or SYW finally shuts down. ;)

I'm guessing the items that have gradually lost their super-low Hot Buy prices were the hottest sellers, and some secret limit on how many they would sell at that price has been reached. Nice to see at least some of the prices sticking around this long, though.

Woah, Sears is now doing a second round of the TURKEY texting promotion. Apparently it's now working for more people who it didn't work for before (no guarantees of course), AND if you got the first version already, you can get this one too! Guess I'm going to have to mess with another no-price-matching in-store purchase this week.

It is now a $15-off-$15 coupon with a barcode that you'll have to show to the cashier, instead of a $15-off-$15 freecash surprise points offer. Still can only be used in-store at non-closing stores. Expires Sun Nov 25.

Well looks like I'll be hitting the store again tomorrow with my coupon and my wifes. Guess I'll try to get another 2 sets of cobolt drill bits.

Thanks Hexen, Worked for me again.

Also, I tried texting FREECASH and received a $7 off $30, so YMMV

monolith and Hexen, thank you for your responses about the impact screwdrivers. I should have provided more information with my question.

I am looking for JIS, and am very familiar with the differences from working on Japanese motorcycles & vehicles for most of my life. Many years ago I modified a PH2 with a file to reshape it to stop fastener damage. Then I learned about JIS and bought proper drivers.

I saw on Vessel's website that their version is JIS, but for the Craftsman version, it's not mentioned anywhere in the description on Sears or SYW or on the front of the package (in the picture), so I wanted to make sure Sears/Craftsman didn't pull a "Sears gonna be Sears" and have Vessel change theirs to regular Phillips.

I have a set waiting for me (Sears store pickup), and was going to cancel it and buy the Vessel from Amazon if the Craftsmans weren't JIS.

Your replies and a few of the user reviews on Sears have verified that it's JIS, which makes me happy.

Oh, I misunderstood the direction you were going with that... thought you wanted to make sure they would work on regular Phillips. So to make really sure now that they are JIS, I got my 'Phillips'-labeled one out just now and held it up in front of the photo above. It definitely looks like the JIS.

When did Jap motorcycles start using these? Last Jap Motorcycle I had was a 78 GW, couple Hondas prior to that one as well.

Anyone see any worthwhile deals to make the most of $120 worth of points on???
if youre in the market for some power tools, sears has the same price as lowes/amazon/hd for this dewalt set though all bets are off for the next week due to BF. by the time you get a $1 filler and use a $20 RMN coupon, you might be $10 OOP which is a steal for some dewalt power tools

i got luckly and found a porter cable tool set at a hometown store and nabbed it for $27 OOP. cheapest i could find it for this BF would have been $150

One person on SD reported their (second Turkey text) $15 coupon didn't work in store. Has anyone here tried theirs and had success or failure?

Update: Two of us used the coupons today in store with no issues, even on sale items.

These are the top-of-the-line boxes from International and are built in Canada.

I thought they were great prices and bought both the bottom and top (International #s SRB-4205 and SRT-4204). Shipping was was included, so the total was about $875. Only slightly higher than HF and seem to be very good quality. I like the long wide drawers vs. some others that have more smaller drawers. We'll see if Sears can get them delivered.

I was about to pull the trigger on that one too. Thanks for the link BTW.. As I read the details. I saw this... WADDYA THINK?

If I pay Regular price, I'd get a Gift card for $1567.50

SO, If my arithmetic is correct.
I'd Pay $1899.99 and get a gift card for $1567.50
I'd end up paying $332.49. After I get my card 30 Days later... Of course I'd have to buy more tools at Sears.... but...

Has anyone done this with a Sears Purchase?

Monday night I went to sears to pick up my three orders. The site consistently dropped my cart and had to re-enter my choices at least three times. Placed 2 additional orders on Saturday and Sunday

Email advising my Items were ready

What a cluster... half the items not picked yet still on the shelf. Over 1 1/2 hours checking and rechecking and entering in the system. That Dept was swapped with weekend orders. I did get 4 of the $5 off coupons. Now I’m at the point of what else to buy that I really need. The store is not ready for Xmas sales. Vacant shelves or same products spread out over 3-4 spots. Midwest snips had 3 displays.

Not a lot of consumables either. Fallback is always socks and underwear. No clearance items out.

Couple of displays filled with old stock. One offs, etc. stuff I hadn’t seen in years. Looked like they cleaned out the stockroom. Nothing of value though

30 days for the gift card? The arrival time is after Xmas sales are over unless you shotgun an order for last Minute sales

Previous history with sears everything reverts to full price Dec 23-24 to get all the late shoppers

Several other people have reported success, including someone who used the $15 off $15 TURKEY coupon on the same account in the same visit (but in a separate transaction) as the original $15 off $15 TURKEY freecash surprise points. The one it didn't work for was probably buying an excluded item (e.g. clearance) or didn't provide their SYW account at checkout (these coupons aren't linked to your account, but you apparently need to be using an SYW account to use them).

And if you haven't eaten your fill already, there's now a THIRD Sears texting offer! :bounce: Text STUFFING to Sears (73277) for a different $15 off $15 coupon. Still in-store only, at non-closing stores, use by Sun Nov 25.

I receive a response telling me to txt TURKEY to 73277, when I txt STUFFING. :wtf:

Or do you have to use that TURKEY coupon, before they will send the new one? Really doubt Sears systems are programmed that smart.

Don't do it. I have done the saveonall deals a few times in the past year and the last few times it has taken me 3 months and many emails to get my gift card. There is no one to call if you don't get the gift card, you just keep sending emails that may or may not get a response.

Yeah, that 'regular price' gift card thing has always been a risky trainwreck... it requires manual action by customer service people even under normal circumstances, it's not automated... and with the staffing cuts Sears has been making, it becomes increasingly likely that this probably-very-little-used queue will sit ignored for even longer.

Yes, apparently you can only get STUFFING if you've already gotten at least one TURKEY, lol. It is odd that Sears is restricting it this way (the opposite of the kind of restriction we would've expected). I have used the first TURKEY, and have received but not yet used the second TURKEY, before I requested and received STUFFING. So I couldn't try it out-of-sequence myself, but I did see a couple people on SD run into the same thing you experienced. Going back to get TURKEY first (don't have to use it yet) and then trying STUFFING should fix it for you.

(Edit: Now I'm also seeing one person who says they did already do TURKEY but it still didn't fix it for them. Sears can't do anything without some glitches, I guess... maybe try STUFFING again tomorrow if you're in that situation.)

I wonder if there will be a 'dessert' code tomorrow, to finish the 'meal'.

Text “TURKEY” or "STUFFING" to 73277. If you have a closing Sears or no sears nearby or won’t use it please DM me the coupon code. Thank you in advance.

Though that deal has been around for years... I've never done it.

Unless you already know what you're going to buy with the gift card... and are sure the item(s) will be available (unlike Knipex, for example)... only then might it work out. But if you're not sure what you'll buy with the gift card, the 10% bonus probably isn't worth the risk to lay out all that real money (Sears could liquidate before you spend it all, you might find the items cheaper elsewhere, etc.).
