for those wondering, theres still a good chance itll take most of the estimated ship date to get to you, especially with the holidays the next two weeks. demar is a legit company and theyre the only one ive seen any kmart/sears freight come through, so they probably have the national contract with sears, however i dont know if they run their own trucks and if they do its just regionally. the freight will most likely interline with a minimum of one or two companies before it gets to your local carrier and thats where the time gets killed. dont worry if you cant track your package online after its started moving, if it shows with company X for so many days or if it shows being delivered but you didnt get it, that usually means it got transferred to a smaller company that doesnt do online updates. and finally but most importantly: dont be a **** to the dude that calls you to schedule your shipment, its not our fault it took a month to get to you

7avalon: where in ky are you?

@tabs - appreciate the info! Many many years ago I used to work delivering packages. I know what you mean by the customers cursing the delivery guy. Some people get very upset when the packages are late, and it is definitely not the delivery guy's fault.

I am in Lexington KY.

Soo.....5 days after receiving a shipping notice on an orange 42" top I received a second shipping notice last night. Same order date, same "sales check number" as Sears calls it, different tracking number.

So if accurate some of you can thank poor logistics for cancelled orders 'cause they're sending double product to others.

It certainly isn't difficult to believe Sears could be so incompetent, is it?

What....

Merry Christmas from Santa... err... Sears :lol_hitti

(My 42in top box was cancelled but not upset since I have 56in coming my way and end up being cheaper so it works out well for me - assuming the 56in will be here in one piece)

I hope you are letting them know so someone else could get the extra one if you do in fact get 2.

If in fact I get 2 I'll try to return one.

I'm so distrustful of Sears I am not going to risk trying to cancel one now in case there is in fact only one coming. If 2 ACTUALLY arrive I'll deal with it at that point. It's possible there was a problem or error w the first shipping notice I received and the second one is the correction/actual shipment.

Again, with Sears ANYTHING is possible

But they've now removed International EVERYTHING from their site but for 3 products at full retail from a third party. Trust me, if I return this one it won't be going back up on the site. Best case it finds its way to an Outlet store. Worst case, the employees at my local store can't figure out how to process a return where I'm NOT asking for a refund and one of them just takes it home w him.

if you get two and feel guilty, chat with a rep and tell them if they want it they need to schedule a pick up from your house. at that point, theyll have lost too much money on it to bother trying to recoup it for an additional loss. if they dont send someone in to pick it up, consider it yours and use it, gift it, or sell it for at least what you had in the one you bought and viola you can consider it a great deal

I went into a Sears store yesterday that had a "Going out of Business Sale". ALL of their tools were marked sky high, but there was a sign that said %40 off.
Well even with the %40 off you can buy the tools cheaper online! And the ******* wouldn't the match online prices. I walked out of there pissed off.

I was at the Montgomery Mall Pennsylvania Sears and they had 15% off on ALL tools and outdoor living yesterday...... 15% OFF on sale prices too!! Fake Christmas trees were 70-80% discounted along with 15% off that price.

BTW! They had only one register open and the poor guy was very slow at checking out customers...... 20 minute wait in line with TWO customers in front of me.

I agree that knowing Sears probably best not to say anything for now. If you happen to have two box (two box actually arrived in your garage) then you can decide what to do at that time. It may only one box that arrive even if you have two tracking number (who knows what Sears do lol). Or maybe two box arrived, and one of them is dented/ruined from shipping.

imo if you call Sears, they probably tell you to keep it. Considering the size and weight, it cost more for them to take it back from you. Amazon just sent me a wrong item for my order, and tell told me to keep it, which is very surprising. The item is small and probably cost $5 to send it back but they do not want it back.

I ordered a very heavy wood filing cabinet for an office from Amazon that arrived split in two with the box having two very large ripped holes in it...and they wanted me to send it back

I went to the Oxford Valley PA Sears today (its across from my office and I've been going twice weekly watching prices drop). Ended up buying a new old stock 41" pro series stainless box for $400...in the box...no display...couldn't find it in the system and I can't find it online based on the model number...the sales guy said things have been trickling in from the stock room and the local warehouses and there's been numerous discontinued items placed on the floor...so we'll see what it looks like! haha

Update: it ended up being the chest in the attached pic...can't complain...not sure why the model number on the box was different

Yeah, I've heard some years-old merchandise has been randomly showing up at some Sears and Kmart stores around the country in the last few weeks. Clearing out the dusty back corners of the warehouses, apparently. (Anyone who still has a local Kmart, check the dates carefully if shopping in the grocery section.)

My local Sears store also had a bunch of handwritten signs in the tool department today for additional 15% off. Additional discount on top of current sale prices; cashier had to apply the discount after all items were scanned.

DealGenius just dug some 1993 catalogs out of the woodwork.

This has been going on for awhile. I've posted here about -V- sockets showing up on the shelf. Recently went to a store and they put 40-50 sockets out as singles all USA and surprising many were -G- and -H- with only the single ball retention hole on the female end, not the 4 detents of the later USA G2 / G2D series. They also have the good shiny pre EPA chrome not the greyish silver of the later '00's USA stuff. I got some USA extensions since I'm good on sockets but check everything carefully, good stuff is starting to show up.

Me and my tool buddies have long theorized that lots of USA stuff still remains, Sears is just too incompetent/poorly inventoried to actually know they have it. I'm almost 100% sure that's how that GM NOS ePay guy in Texas gets so much USA old stock. He must know someone at the Illinois warehouse to slip him pallets of the discontinued items.

Ha, interesting. They are based in Chicago. $10 including shipping, seems reasonable enough for the nostalgic. "Never mailed or distributed" yet only "fair to good condition"... hanging out on some warehouse shelf for 25 years must've taken a toll.

Anyone know what the online hometown store closing discount tops off at? It's all sitting at 40% off now, anyone know if it goes lower online right before the store closes or if I should pull the trigger now? Never really saw tool stuff in normal closing sears go below 40%, they just let it sit at that number until everything was sold to rubes that don't know about online sales.

I usually ship to store so I don't have to have $59 worth for free shipping. My local hometown store. Now, nothing ships to store, even things that have been my long standbys like cobalt drill bit sets. Also, won't bring up the striking pry bars at all, says out of stock and there's at least 4 of them on the shelf at the local store, for about $10 more than the online price.

Try asking the online chat reps (too late tonight but you can get them in the morning) if they can give you free shipping. Explain your difficulties and they sometimes take pity on you. I've heard they've been doing that more readily than usual for the holiday season, too.

With corporate stores (the big ones, mostly in malls), the in-store cashiers can also match the sears.com online price, as long as they're not in a bad mood or whatever. The Hometown franchise stores probably won't do that.

The other day, the Sears cashiers could not apply my Customer Care $5 off coupon.

I was in a rush, so I didn't stick around to experiment with more items. However, I suspect the Dash Away Deals discount is applied like F&F discount (like a coupon code), so the register viewed it as an attempt to use multiple coupons.

EDIT: I see another order is ready for pickup, so I may try a coupon again by asking if they can omit the Dash Away Deals discount.

I just got back from the store. The texting $10 in-store coupon could only be used without the 15% off, and the cashier would not match the website prices that reflect the additional 15% off. But there was no problem using it, the cashier just didn't apply the 15% since I said early enough in the transaction that I had a coupon.

If you received a 'secret santa' $2 or $5 in-store freecash surprise points text the other day (expiring today), that may or may not be combinable with the 15% off - one person on SD posted a receipt showing it worked together, but another one said it didn't work for them and only took from their regular points when the 15% was applied. I'll go back later today to try to use that, need to re-strategize my buying plans first.

And I've gotta go back tomorrow too - for the first time in about 6 months (when frequent shoppers mostly got cut off from these), the register actually spit out another coupon for me! $5 off $15, must be used in-store, 12/22-12/24. This probably can't be used with the 15% off, either.

Is that for any Department ( I take it would be)?

Yes, the Sears texting coupon is storewide, with the usual exclusions like clearance, Great Price, Land's End, etc.

I bought this with my $10 coupon...

$26.99 regularly, $14.99 sale (12/15-12/24) without the 15% off, $12.74 with the 15% off if you're buying online or not using an in-store coupon

Craftsman 6pc Extra-Long Pin Punch Set
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-6-pc-punch-set-extra-long/p-00943169000P [product photo is wrong] :
- 5/32" X 7-1/2" pin punch (extra-long size not sold separately)
- 3/16" X 7-1/2" pin punch (extra-long size not sold separately)
- 7/32" X 7-1/2" pin punch (extra-long size not sold separately)
- 1/4" X 7-1/2" pin punch (extra-long size not sold separately)
- 5/16" X 7-1/2" pin punch (extra-long size not sold separately)
- 3/8" X 7-1/2" pin punch (extra-long size not sold separately)

The product page shows a smaller punch set, by mistake. (It's been like that for years.) This is what this set really looks like:

US-made sets ran out months ago in most stores, but the Chinese ones look decent too.

Update: They later added "only valid in Puerto Rico" to the webpages of coupons that had already been issued on this offer, but some people have still been able to use it in US-mainland stores anyway.

Also in store only is a spend $40 get $20 back.

Points issued 1/7/19 and good for only 5 days.

Oh, right, I meant to post about that too, saw the sign in my store. The fine print says it just started today, 12/21, and lasts until 1/5/19. Then regardless of when you made the $40 OOP purchase, everyone gets the points back at the same time, 1/7-1/11. So anybody thinking about doing it could wait a couple weeks (though of course prices may change in the meantime) if you don't want to have to wait so long after the purchase to get the points.

How does the 15% apply? When I was at the store, the item I purchased came up regular price. When I showed them the website price, they matched it (overrride) and applied the $10 coupon.

Mine says Only valid in Puerto Rico.

Normally the cashier scans a special coupon barcode they have, or enters a coupon code manually, to apply F&F-style discounts at the register. You got lucky that yours was more cooperative than mine (the manager was working the register right next to her, might have been part of the problem), to be willing to do a website price match instead (which does work with coupons if you have someone willing to do it).

Mine says Only valid in Puerto Rico.

It didn't say that originally. Several people have successfully used it outside of Puerto Rico, so it might just be words on the page and not an actual restriction in the system. I'm going to try to use it later this evening. Turn your phone sideways and scroll down...
