Stopped by Jim Reed’s garage yesterday. Always a nice visit and I learn something new new every time. He gifted me this vise.

Jim has a vise & anvil on a stand together which gave me the idea to mount this vise and my section of rail together. Project 987....or is that 963?
Back at the shop, I knock out a couple of quick projects.
First one was fixing my failed attempt at mounting lights on my wife’s vanity. OSB and 3M tape worked for awhile but not long enough.

OSB was a spacer so looking in scrap bin, I had a piece of MDF already at the right thickness. The piece was cut to size, glued in place and light frame screwed in place.

The finished project. She’s happy.

Watching a Ron Hazelton show, he built simple jaws to covert a vise into a wood vise. Here’s mine. Should come in handy.

Last little thing was to start on the prototype for brackets for a flip down shelf. Originally I was thinking something in steel but thought cast aluminum would be slick. Now, who do I know that trades aluminum for cast parts.
