Bob, those are tears of joy for making their day. lol

A few miscellaneous projects started, some completed, some not. Not sure how or why I started rearranging the bolt drawer. I had all my SAE bolts, nuts, washers, lock washers grouped together. A look at a pic on GJ, let’s change things up. I think I might like this better. 4fea632d905dc4cec319a7355ba7bb77.jpg
Also made a stand out of scrap to hold our Christmas light timera191f4b8bb09b2a393a827c937c24364.jpg420a101078f72ef113f1cbc4db43f636.jpg69658fae7ad7f859b8db9a2ee04ef6e7.jpg

Shorty, I think that looks pretty good, it all depends on how much of each type of hardware you end up with. I have one drawer (with some room for expansion) for each size of hardware I use a lot. I do keep fine and coarse threads together and I have not gotten to labeling things like you have, I just have "3/8" hardware" on the drawer front.

And I didn't send you any frost, it must have been someone else, I have plenty if you want some more though..

While up on the roof of my shop,. cc4d43632cc639b90b77e64732d31f18.jpg I realized I’ve been remiss in providing my monthly safety sessions. Lucky for you all, no blood, so no reports.
Yesterday was gutter cleaning day. Yep my mind was in the gutter. 27e2477176f284e4d41cfc800caf1237.jpg

Stopped by Jim Reed’s garage yesterday. Always a nice visit and I learn something new new every time. He gifted me this vise. 53dfb766f00e6aafa4871cb4bd858fd5.jpg
Jim has a vise & anvil on a stand together which gave me the idea to mount this vise and my section of rail together. Project 987....or is that 963?
Back at the shop, I knock out a couple of quick projects.
First one was fixing my failed attempt at mounting lights on my wife’s vanity. OSB and 3M tape worked for awhile but not long enough. 5aee37c842c4b532495305cafc10a1f7.jpg OSB was a spacer so looking in scrap bin, I had a piece of MDF already at the right thickness. The piece was cut to size, glued in place and light frame screwed in place. 7bd8ad0463d04d40e5e38f3936c29c8f.jpg
The finished project. She’s happy. 7f8852ed02b99ab6272872591dbc440c.jpg
Watching a Ron Hazelton show, he built simple jaws to covert a vise into a wood vise. Here’s mine. Should come in handy. 3fba5c5cfdb7c23f0a6280d12c00f904.jpg
Last little thing was to start on the prototype for brackets for a flip down shelf. Originally I was thinking something in steel but thought cast aluminum would be slick. Now, who do I know that trades aluminum for cast parts.

Are you guys hogging all the cold weather? All we get up here is cold rain and mud, lots of mud.

Hey, we have all the snowbirds that come down to Florida to enjoy our best times of the year. This is really only time of year to get anything done where your not going through 3 or 4 T-shirt’s sweating your *** off. LOL

No hoarding of cold weather here. Somewhat chilly for Christmas which was nice. New Year’s Day, back to shorts and flops. Getting rain, unfortunately every Friday and Saturday.
I did have long weekends during the holidays but didn’t get a whole lot of QST. Most of my time was spent cleaning piles of messes at home and shop. I got the garage bench cleaned up along with getting Christmas back into the attic. At the shop, I got the office desk cleaned up. Part of that was doing something with this CNC cut 442 thing I have. 0fec9fe332c2999685363c5f3d71b2fc.jpg it needed a once over with a Scotchbrite, then primer and the base color. 6442cececa9107003ba99091eab22701.jpg. I want to paint the 442 the proper red, orange, yellow but only had yellow. I’ll do the other colors when I get paint. Gerard, you have any orange or red paint? lol. 99f9fd49fa926d86a61ecc4f3585d9cd.jpg

Another side track, is knocking out a tray for the welding cart. The cardboard template doesn’t hold things well. In the scrap pile, found this aluminum real estate sign the right size. 9328ad38fca1751ed64f74443b641aa6.jpg using the little HF brake, I bent up the short ends. d15b28840c34151ca3fa194077b94c39.jpg Taking a tip from Robert MPC, I used the vise brake to give me a nice crisp bend line on the long sides. 144143b9d63cee3ee91f4ac2f5aea0e9.jpg The uprights need to curl over, so checking the scrap pile, I found a door handle leftover from shop demo that matched the tube of weld cart. Some body hammer time, hammer time (where’s my MC Hammer pants?), the first test fit. 4965f5c74744247915bac334c54af29a.jpg
To be continued.

That looks pretty good shorty but I think the aluminum might be a touch light.

It's been **** cold over on the west coast down in the 30s at night and low 50s in the afternoons.

With a rash of FSD spreading around GJ, I got some much needed relief. I still had a bunch of my mom’s stuff taking up floor space so my brother came down so we could get it out of the shop. In a couple of hours we had it separated into donate, he take and trash. After almost 2 yrs, this bin is empty. e2a0e8f712e4c775aed8d00c11163614.jpg along with other space. A quick call to the recycler, the bin was sold for a Benjamin. Yay! Brother helped load it and the boat trailer scrap on the trailer and off we went. He also help me lean the 20’ metal roof sheets against the loft so I could get access to all my cabinets. Here’s the results of our efforts. I’m closed to where a second vehicle could be parked inside. cf1ca53b84cbcdcdd68fe8803639bea6.jpg88c10194c2478d181e5b4be1ce2787ec.jpg
Yesterday was spent setting up my mom’s old computer in the shop. I will be hooking up my vinyl/paper cutter up to it. 5f9c250a7ccb65b58c74537392d6102f.jpg since my blast cabinet is still in the box, I broke out the high dollar cabinet to clean a bracket that needs welding. 224616b7ba3db1a7a1ff3ff314254913.jpg

I love the mega dollar blasting cabinet. Now that you have so much room, I'll drop off a few of my projects in waiting. ;)
