If there was any doubt Walmart Hyper Tough and Craftsman strike cap pry bars are the same, the Walmart version started showing up at Sears. Go to scan it, of course "no price found" if any other Sears I'd play hard ball and negotiate a discount from the Walmart price but Chula Vista would demand full Craftsman retail so I passed. Hopefully they get the little 8" one in I've had my eye on.

At Harbor Freight today, I saw they have a box full of Menards-branded carpenter's pencils now. (The nearest Menards is several states away.) So it's not just Sears having this misbranding problem with their suppliers. :lol_hitti

Yeah, if you're already into C3 tools, get more while you still can. People on SD mentioned recently that in addition to regular Sears, Sears Hardware and Ace Hardware have stopped restocking C3 stuff and their selection has been naturally dwindling down for a while now. Ace employees told one of them, "they're done with c3, and if they get new Craftsman power tools it will be the new v20 stuff (Stanley)".

Should be here tomorrow! I like it when they ship from a nearby store.
I have a pretty good collection of C3... probably 18 now and a stack of batteries. Only thing I still want is the caulk gun but I'm not paying $150 for one.

Also have the full bolt-on line and 8 or so nextec. Had fun last year tracking down the collection well after everyone else had snagged most of it. Will always regret missing out on the early nextec and c3 clearance deals with rolling points and big discounts.

anyone know why all the C3 impact driver all the sudden went out of stock within my 100 miles area ? that was odd..

this one... Nothing within 100 miles of me or shipping.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-19.2-volt-lithium-ion-1-4inch-impact/p-00936557000P

We've been talking about how all C3 tools are pretty much on a 'no more when they run out' basis at this point. I assume the warehouse serving your area ran out of that one. It's possible some stores in your area still have one or two for in-store purchase only, if any stores are close enough for you to go in person. It is still available online at one Hometown store 75 miles away from me, nowhere else in my area.

Craftsman 5pc. wood chisels. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-5-p...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 I have had these in my cart for a while now waiting for them to have a real markdown. I used a $5.99 filler item to put the total over $30 so I could get the $15 off $30 deal which made my total for both items a little over $17.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-5-pc-wood-chisel-set/p-00936859000P
$24.99 sale, $34.99 regularly

Nice. I picked those up for $25.41 last fall. Lowest I've seen was $19.99 about a year ago, but I missed it. Made in China but better than the HF equivalent.

Tabs, there was nothing wrong with Arfly's link... if you're getting redirected to the Sears homepage with it, then Viglink is probably broken for Sears links again, go to viglink.com/opt-out

I do not see anything about a $15 off $30 anywhere either, though; that might be a customer-specific offer Arfly received.

Links to look for qualifying items... some of which are shippable, and at $70+ OOP you'd qualify for free shipping, so this deal doesn't require a local Kmart. SD suggests diapers as a popular use of this deal, if any of you have family at the right age, but there are other options. Deal probably ends 4/27.

Well, Walmart and Target have that section as well.

Though, with Kmart you want to make sure to closely inspect those expiration dates around the health section.

Didn't want to click on that category, so I'll just take your word that those are actually sold by Kmart. :lol_hitti

Some good lawn & garden deals at Lowe's and HD this month. Nothing but crickets chirping at Sears.

I think Ray Padula got the contract for the premium rubber hoses, but now they're "hybrid rubber".

Hmm, there's an idea! Take a photo when you get your punches in it, please; if they're the Craftsman punches or similar size, I'm curious if they'll stick out of the pockets enough.

Update: I went ahead and ordered the 8-pocket and the 12-pocket in a last-minute order tonight. Will figure out later what to put in them. :p

Picked up my wrench roll from the store. Fully unfolded, it's 11" x 17".

Some of my punches have undergone some re-shaping over time, so they're no longer the original lengths. However, I remembered the Craftsman 6-pc deal must be in my spares trunk.

Took a photo showing a variety of punches and chisels in the roll (from center to right): 2 pin punches, 1 center punch, 2 chisels, and 1 line-up tool. The 3/4" chisel was a tight fit.

Looks good, thanks. Suitable for all but the 12"-long models; looks like the 7/8"-wide chisel (the widest size Craftsman has) should fit in the one of the wider outermost pockets.

I think the chances of finding a USA set now are slim, but if anyone wants to check a nearby store:

Craftsman 6 pc. Chisel (& Punch) Set $12.99

That is a great price. I 'paid' $15 last year for that set, one of the US-made remnants. Buying up all the different Craftsman punches/chisels last year, I ended up with about half US-made and half Chinese-made, with two stores to work from at the time.

"Tax Day" sale coming up on Sun 4/14/19, supposed to be 12% off storewide according to the flyer I found in my Sears today. It probably works like F&F, where in-store it gets applied at the register as a coupon, so can't be combined with other coupons/freecash; but online it's just an up-front markdown so it can be combined.

Have you asked the store clerk to match the online price and then apply coupons/freecash? I’m not positive that it would work, but I’ll try it when I get a chance.

I tried but only one can be applied. They either price match online or take the coupon price off. Of course the on line inventory is incorrect by showing zero stock and the B&M store has multiples on the shelf.

My closest Sears is getting pretty horrible with the inventory discrepancies. The excuse I get is they are 2 separate businesses.

I have been successful many times asking the store clerk to price match the online price (lower price and NOT online only price) and then add the freecash (e.g. $10 off $25).

If the above doesn’t work, purchase the item online using the store PC or your cell phone, include your coupon/freecash, and then wait for the online pickup.

I do agree with the inventory discrepancies. I think Sears wants you to visit the stores.

They often won't do that during these 1-day-only special sales. I had a longtime employee at my store who was willing to do that for me during F&F sales a couple times, but he no longer works there. The remaining employees aren't senior enough to have their own price-match override card, so they have to call the grouchy manager who never approves stuff like that.

If the above doesn’t work, purchase the item online using the store PC or your cell phone, include your coupon/freecash, and then wait for the online pickup.

I do agree with the inventory discrepancies. I think Sears wants you to visit the stores.

The reason this is an issue is for things that can no longer be ordered online in one's area, and I was giving a general heads-up for people who don't habitually order online whenever possible.

I like that Kenmore Grilling Glove ($5.84) better than a mitt, but too bad availability is dismal.

Anyone else unable to get on the Sears Hometown site? I have been trying since yesterday and can't get on it. I have tried from my phone and my home computer and it's not working.

Edit: It's working for me now.

Anyone know where these adj wrenches are made now or by whom?
Pretty good price on 15" if good quality.

Yeah, those are not one of their decent foreign products. Unless you're just burning points, HF has better-finished Chinese adjustable wrenches for less (15in is $15, minus a 25% off next weekend = $11.25, or 20% off any day = $12).
