Cleaned some more on my cheap Enco lathe. Also checked for wear, actually seems to be in really good shape in spite of what it looks like lol

In the last week I e managed to sell (more importantly, get RID of) a camper trailer, a little utility trailer, a Hammer bandsaw, some led lights and a compressor. These funds allowed me to grab a G3 Hemi for the Dart project! I picked up this 6.1 and really don’t know if I got a great deal or if I bought trouble. I won’t know until later. It’s supposedly an 85k mi pullout that “runs great” except, of course for the fact that it looks like it was drug across the junkyard on a chain! $1500 gamble but at least it has the right bones, if it needs a build.
Now I’ll need to gather a lot of parts plus a trans, hopefully a 6-spd.

More packing. Got help from neighbor to pull the old plasma TV down off the top shelf.

The inspection on the new house was yesterday. Nothing major found. I was excited to learn that the shop has ac and heat installed in the corner of it. I didn't notice that in the first walk through. I'm even more excited to get moved into it now.

The Dart project aka: the Yard Dart is a ‘64 GT ragtop, former slant six of course.

Thanks, the Chevy is my ‘66 283 AC truck and it is the nominal inspiration behind my *finally* building my shop... to get the truck inside as it deserves. I’m hoping to one day give a frame-off rotisserie trip but for now I plan to at the least get it cleaned up and driving again. The Dart needs the rotisserie much more right now.

With that engine, it may need to be renamed to the Poison Dart.

Made this lawnmower blade sharping rig.

30 degree sharping on my blades. An old 4 1/2 Harbor Freight grinder with a 24 grit wheel.

I'm happy with it.

( the small block of wood was left by mistake ). I put it on the truck tailgate for better pictures.

I like the way you think!

Btw there’s a thread on forAbodiesOnly by a guy who’s doing a very impressive build on a Valiant (same car effectively) installing a 6.4 and Supercharging it(!)

I've been so busy trying to get all the Spring Deadline guys' jobs finished up that I haven't been on the boards too much lately.

The latest is a BIG job for a new customer in Colorado who has a '69 Dart 440 with a six pack ...

His Hurst shift lever had been modified (or repaired) and had seen better days. It was dolled up with my best gloss black with logos that match the metallic light green on his interior.

These HP273 Commandos were shipped out to a young guy in Kansas named Jed Scott. He and his dad are GREAT! (Check out his YouTube channel at Scott's Speed Shop. This video makes me PROUD!!!

I spent a good portion of yesterday replacing one axle bearing on the Project van, only to find the maroons I ordered my bearings and seals from sent the FRONT seals, not the rear.. Bought seals this AM and finished that one.

Then I did the second one in barely an our after that start to finish.

Last night I also sanded the "nubs" off the finger joints of the Box project.

Van is ready for camping next weekend, hopefully the box will be also.

I worked a good portion of the weekend on doing the front brakes on the sport trac. In the process, an "Ace Professional Series" 1/2" rachet made a cracking sound, and siezed solid. Took it to Ace, they don't have it anymore, and ordered it. It will be in later this week, but they only carry craftsman now. Funny part was, I bought the ace due to the lifetime warranty and them being at the time just a few blocks from our house. Hey, they still are replacing it, so I'm happy. Thankfully I had my craftsman set as backup.
Also cleaned the garage floor.

Between doing other stuff, I managed to unbolt the transmission mount for the ‘68, completely removed the headers, and got the engine more prepped to remove. Still have shifter cable to undo and the driveshaft, and the NSS electrical connector, and it’ll come right out.

If I have no interruptions tomorrow, I’ll have it out by noon time. But then again, had I had no interruptions today, it would have been out today....

Cleaned up the attached garage. Not much going on in the shop. It got pretty warm today so I'm thinking harder about getting the insulation done soon....

Pulled out the trailer from the garage. Drilled a hole in the front facing wood siding then bolted the spare wheel to it.

Pulled the battery of the Harley and put it on the bench for charging. Then removed the broken toggle 'kill' switch and replaced with a new one and rewired.

Continued working on polishing up the bare aluminum Primary, Gear and Trans covers with Semi-Chrome polish.

Reorganized some stuff. Returned borrowed tools/equipment. I knew my buddies werent in a rush to get them returned (they got free winter storage) but was taking up too much room in my space, not being used.

Then fired up the projector and watched GoT.

Welded a mounting bracket back on the yard tractors mower deck. The weld held for the test mow. Dang, new deck belt was $45.

i need to make friends with some OCD people, then let them come over to my garage. Maybe all my **** will get put away and organized while they are here.

lol, me too!

I added a water detection sensor to my garage furnace room in case it springs a leak. Also added some additional door, window and motion sensors that also all tied into my smart home hub. My new hobby is adding up.

Well since pictures are worth a thousand words . . .

Yesterday I pulled the tap & die set to get to the pop rivet kit just to make sure it was still there and since it even had the size rivets I needed I left it out. Today though I saw the wooden box underneath it.

What's in it? Certainly not what I expected. It's nothing extravagant but an unexpectedly nice find nonetheless.

Then since I picked up some new keys for the beetle in town and found out the door handles, ignition and glove box lock are all original pieces to boot. I gave the door handle a once over with some chrome polish and reinstalled it and the glove box latch, labelled the keys and stored each set separately. Little by little progress is made.

I replaced the passenger side exhaust manifold gasket on my 2009 Dodge 1500. Only had to weld nuts to two broken bolts this time. I also helped a friend do the brakes on his 2015 Ford F-150. He learned how sometimes the only way to get the rear rotors off passed the parking brake shoes is a BFH and determination. Curse words aid in swinging the BFH too.

Spent a half hour trying to get my minibike running, changed the coil(bad anyways), cleaned the carb, still wouldn't run.... Turns out I forgot to open the petcock.

Don't feel bad, I spent an hour trying to diagnose a no start on a GSXR-600 that was out of gas:lol_hitti In my defense, I asked my buddy, who owned the bike, if he had gas in it. Of course he said ''Ya I'm not that stupid''

I couldn't say much, cause I trusted him and didn't check the gas tank for an hour.:wtf:

Yesterday...hooked up the trailer to the Chevy Cobalt and drove up to north Jersey to retrieve my Skat-Blast cabinet which was in the bed of my Chevy truck parked in the rental garage.

It was just me and the wife, so I pulled out the truck then backed my trailer up to the trucks bed, dropped the tailgate and I slid the Blast cabinet off the bed of the truck into the trailer, standing it up as I did. Then just walked it in and laid it back down. Fit like a glove in the trailer with a little room left to put some other things in with it.

Put the truck back in the rental garage and me and the wife headed back home. :)

I did about the same, Although it was more so my stubborn grandpa. He thought his 2012 tri-glide needed a new battery, but all the lights worked and were bight as ever. It just wouldn't crank over. I tried to tell him it didnt sound like that battery but he insisted we change it, so I did (not a fun job btw, so much stuff in there).

Still no crank, so I grabbed the security fob thing, popped out the battery, stole the one out of my Pontiac fob, and it fired right up. Turned out both of the Harley fobs were just dead.
