Yea, turns out to be an old promo left on the website.

They do however have 3/8" drive metric impacts on sale, at what I have to believe is a misprinted price. $148.50 for either the short or deep set, which is over $100 off the price of the deep set!

Never ever look at Amazon's list price - it's always very high to make you think you're getting a deal. $23-25 looks to be normal sale pricing for that set with a few retailers (Chad's) Selling them for $35. A decent deal, but not 42% off.

I concur that the list price quoted by Amazon is not representative of market pricing, but they don't claim that it is. The item I mentioned is indeed 42% off of the MSRP (catalog price) as stated by Bondhus.

Ah, that's a slightly different case.

I also didn't mean to come across as doubting your awareness of the issue. A lot of lurkers read this thread, and I wanted to make sure nobody mistakenly took Amazon's list prices at face value. This happens a lot of times at Slickdeals and other deals sites, people see ##% discounts and $** savings and then go nuts over regular prices. There are also many times when Amazon's list price is much higher than the manufacturer's MSRP price.

these are very ymmv. the stores near me don't have them anymore. on my way home from an inlaw trip, i did see a few stores with stacks of them. good buy regardless.
