I have tried several different shower heads trying to get a good flow. Turns out the valve the PO installed is a low flow valve. :wtf: I really don't want to pull the wall appart to replace the valving.... but I may just have to.
I hope this isn't part of your problem.

I replaced the hot water heater a few months ago, and after getting heater back in I had hardly any hot water flow at master bath shower. Took valve assembly apart and found flakes of rust or what looked like rust clogging hot water side of shower valve assembly.

There was also some calcium looking crud on both sides of valve assembly, removed all the crud and man what difference that made on the flow.

lot of brands mentioned in this thread, which are USA made?

The last big box store I was in only had China made, I won't buy those.

This is what you need. Installed one this weekend. WOW!

I have the ultimate model. I like it alot. I took the flow restrictor out but would run out of hot water too soon. Reamed it out a little and it was just right.

Just bought the 38.00 Moen Showerhead which is about 10" diameter that Lowes had on display.....this is the 5th showerhead I've tried out, and it's a winner....best $38.00 I've spent in years.

I love that episode of Seinfeld. It was titled "The Showerhead" and is very funny. I found my own version of the Commando 450 showerhead and so far I'm quite pleased.

The Delta in2ition is the best I have owned yet. I am sure there are better but as far as rinsing shampoo, my wife says it's the best yet.

My opinion - for an all brass, adjustable head for huge amount of adjustment - pressure or "drench" install a Speakman S-2251.
It is no longer made in the USA, ( -the vast majority of showerheads are not )
I've worked for two manufactures of showerheads, and listened to hundreds of people and plumbers give me feedback. The head that would make the most people happy is the S-2251. Not cheap but it's very well built.

Over a hundred bucks and made in China? I've been known to pay up for good stuff Made in the USA, but not so much if made in China.

I take it you haven't used one of these showerheads then. I'm all for Made in the USA items but this showerhead is phenomenal.

The USA has moved on to developing, designing and promoting products and the machinery used to manufacture the products. Low wage countries now do the manufacturing. The high wage work has remained in the US and is constantly expanding.

Not my cup of tea, but there's a reason the Speakman's are so widely used commercially and it's not because they're inexpensive. Good shower head.

If we have so many high wage jobs why is the media full of protests about low wages? Manufacturing tends to pay a somewhat decent hourly wage.

If I was to pay five to ten times the going price for a shower head then I would least expect it to be Made in the USA for that price. I certainly buy stuff made in China because sometimes I have no real choice.

Water pressure seems "ok"? If you like higher water pressure, I would like you to recommend Oxygenics. It not only increases water pressure but also saves water. Of course, if you want to know the other best high pressure shower head, you can find out by reviewing the article.

I suppose we'll have more input now, after a two-and-a-half year hiatus. I'll be the second recent poster.

We did a whole-house renovation to get ready for retirement, We added a second 'en-suite' master bath, a new kitchen, a new bath for the entry from the two-car garage ('dibs!') and gutted/rebuilt two more baths. We are empty-nesters, now retired.

The water heater is a Rinnai tankless gas heater, I love it. The master bath with a walk-in shower has all hans grohe: rain head, wall jets, and hand-held. You can have them all on if you wish, a new service line was installed, so we have the best municipal pressure you're gonna get. The garage entry full bath is also all hans grohe, a rain head, and a hand-held. The other two baths have hans grohe, one has a rain head and a hand-held, the other is a traditional tub/shower, w/a hans grohe wall showerhead. All the sinks are Waterworks, the kitchen too.

The Rinnai tankless means we never run-out of hot water, but I don't sit in there for 30 minutes. Multiple baths and the kitchen can be used simultaneously. Toilet flushing is a non-event to someone in the shower, not the case I recall from my childhood.

I have a Speakman sitting on a shelf, I got it at Habitat for Humanity, "because it's a Speakman," but I don't have anyplace to put it. I soaked it in cleaning vinegar for several days, and hooked it up-to a garden hose, and yes, a great stream.

Since we are posting in a zombie thread, I'll play. The best showerhead that I've ever used is the Oxygenics Resort Spa. I bought one from Skymall around 15 years ago after using it in a hotel room. It is somehow self pressurizing (never took it apart to figure it out, but Venturi, Bernoulli or some other smart guy's name), and is freaking awesome. Moved it between 4 different apartments. Unfortunately, I have no idea where it ended up in a move, so now I deal with the $$$ Delta POS Rain Can that I thought I wanted in the master bath when we built.

I just did a quick search before hitting the magic post button, and it looks like they now call it the "SkinCare".... https://oxygenics.com/products/skincare-comfort-control/

My better halfs parents had one of these, the mount cracked when he took it off to paint the bathroom. I called Delta, they sent him a b rand new one at no charge, so both a quality product and great cust service.

I've had the delta in2ition for ~6 years now and agree its the best shower head there is. Its basically two 2.5gal shower heads so it does use a good bit of water. My house only has 1/2" copper but Ive got the pressure maxed out at the regulator (~70psi). Its a nice shower experience.

You can turn either shower head on or off and the center shower head can also be change between the useless massaging mode or you can restrict the flow down to a trickle. So if youre shaving or whatever you can turn the outside off and restrict the flow on the center head.

Geez...I can't believe someone would even ask this question on a garage journal. Next, he'll ask what kind of soap to use for the dry skin around his balls. Can't make any decisions on his own? This site is getting as bad as fb.

Hansgrohe clubmaster. Best shower head I have ever had, take out the flow restrictor, which is very easy to do, and you will have a fire hose nozzle :)

Speakman showers are nice -- but you have to be careful because they make multi lines. The "real" one being much more expensive .. no pulse mode.

I have been using the Grohe Relaxa for years .. great and easy to install. Moves all over

Sometimes the problem aint the shower head, but the shower valve.
I put in a Symmons Temptrol once we started having kids, so they wouldn’t get burned. Pressure and volume not the same since. Buddy of mine who does plumbing, says no way to override the valve itself.
