Midnight Madness sale tonight, 9pm-7am CT (started early already, ~8:30pm).

The US-made auto center oil filter pliers are now $14.24 for the night, a bit lower than last month's low $14.39. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-adjustable-oil-filter-pliers/p-02820520000P

Let's see if chat will give me my $0.15 back, I think I'm at 31 days now (bought Jul 15). I'm having a terrible time getting into chat tonight, though.
Update: Finally got in and they had no problem doing the refund. :)

looks like ive got a $5/30 FREECASH in my account today--best ive seen in a long time, but still not good enough to get me to bite.

I got a 5/35 and 15/100 a few others as well. Would have been nice yesterday but OOS now, oh well.

Sent from my KFDOWI using Tapatalk

Three offers listed in my Sears Points Center email, and the best one is a $15 freecash for $100 purchase. :puke:
DELETED it like usual.

However, I later looked in my account, and noticed a fourth offer with the same expiration date: $7 freecash for $20 purchase. :bounce:

Another 10% off tools has brought back some F&F pricing from last week (including the adjustable seat), but this event is only for select Craftsman items.

I see only a shipping option in my area. Also, some customer reviews indicate that it needs to be tied or weighed down when using the highest speed setting.

Craftsman LF-20CR 20" 3-Speed, High-Velocity Fan $36.99

It's categorized as an appliance, so tool coupons are not applying.

You can get small weight plates or dumbbells in the Sears fitness dept to help with that. :)

"Orders need to meet the minimum for free shipping after points are applied to qualify." staying in place means it probably won't be much help around here, but a step in the right direction at least. :) Nobody paying all OOP was going to order from Sears when all the competitors had a much lower free shipping threshold.

Edit: Someone on SD noticed that the $35 threshold is currently only through Sep 7 according to this.

I don't mind paying out of pocket for those rare occasions when something I require is priced lower at Sears. Or for clearance deals! With the lower minimum, I may get to reduce my stops at the local Sears to use their Find-it computers.

They word that a bit strangely, but I guess that's Sears being Sears.

I don't buy as much from Sears now but I still appreciate the posts on deals for whatever might still be worth getting or well discounted. Seems like slim pickings nowadays.

True. I guess what's left of the thread followers already own most of the stuff still available from Sears.

I search the website for deals, but I don't find much in stock on the Sears website that I don't already have. Actually I don't find many deals at all. I now have more Craftsman tools than the last 3 Sears stores I went to.

Today is the 1-month 'anniversary' of my recent Knipex purchase. That product is *still* unavailable from Sears itself, only third-party sellers. I keep wondering how long it will take for the 1-and-done availability of these products to reset.

Reviving more of the premium brands online would probably revive more interest around here. I have one of the last paper tools catalogs from Sears, from 2010, and it's amazing how many brands they carried at that time. Out of dozens of tool brands shown in there, we're down to maybe half a dozen or so, and some of those such as Knipex are only just barely available.

  4. Kmart – State: NY – Address: 975 Fairmount Avenue, Jamestown
  5. Kmart – State: PR – Address: Puerto Rico Hwy 3 Plaza, Guayama

A few additional closures not part of that list are also underway:

Sears in Staten Island, NY started liquidation around Jul 13, and will shut down by mid-Sep. https://www.silive.com/news/2019/07/exclusive-sears-to-close-in-staten-island-mall.html

Sears at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ also started liquidation around Jul 13, and will shut down by mid-Sep. https://www.northjersey.com/story/n...owbrook-mall-wayne-nj-close-sales/1733181001/

Sears at Exton Square Mall in Exton, PA is also shutting down; job postings specifying 'store closing' went up for that location in July, but I couldn't find any news articles confirming the dates for its closing. I'll guess it's another Jul 13 to mid-Sep one.

Kmart in Boca Raton, FL started liquidation around Aug 1, and will shut down on Oct 6. https://www.wflx.com/2019/08/06/boca-raton-kmart-closing-october/

I've already got several more stealth closures (not part of an official list) to add. :(

Rumor posted a few days ago that the Sears Home Appliance Showroom in Oswego, IL is closing "at the end of the month" (so, next week?). No news coverage. Unclear if they mean closing for good then, or just starting liquidation sales then.

Kmart in Warsaw, IN is closing. Announced Aug 16, "Liquidation sales are expected to begin in late August, with the store slated to close between late October and late November." https://timesuniononline.com/Content/Default/News/Article/Warsaw-s-Kmart-To-Close-/-3/224/121598 (article incorrectly claims this was one of the stores on the list released Aug 6)

Kmart in Farmingville (on Long Island), NY is closing. Announced Aug 19, "A liquidation sale is expected to begin later this month and the store is planned to close between late October and late November." https://www.newsday.com/business/kmart-closing-farmingville-sears-1.35282032

Sears in Bayshore Mall, Eureka, CA is closing. Same statement from corporate on Aug 19, "A liquidation sale is expected to begin later this month and the store is planned to close between late October and late November." A store employee there said that liquidation is actually supposed to begin Sep 3. https://lostcoastoutpost.com/2019/aug/19/eurekas-sears-store-will-be-closing-its-doors-soon/

Sears in Kitsap Mall, Silverdale, WA is closing. No announcement; news caught it on Aug 22 when liquidation began. Will probably end in late Oct, but they're not telling. https://www.kitsapsun.com/story/new...own-silverdale-kitsap-mall-retail/2087994001/

They must have less than 400 stores combined between Sears and Kmart.

As soon as the local store closes, Sears and Kmart lose all the business. I have placed zero orders for Sears.com or Kmart.com since my stores closed.

Looks like the same slow death spiral as before the bankruptcy. There's no critical mass left to keep going.

They are definitely under 400, I'm not sure of the exact amount, I saw someone say they think it's around 370 now.

I hope that getting the Hometown stores acquisition will help the 'critical mass' issue somewhat, but they may take too long to integrate things enough to make a difference.

Nearly all of the hometown and hardware stores in my state have disappeared over the past year. They seem to be dropping faster than the full line stores.

With the limited inventory and lack of quality suppliers, my Sears purchases have become nearly nonexistent. It doesn't help that I purchased nearly the entire tool department for pennies on the dollar with points deals. We're about to buy a new house and will need some appliances and probably lawn and garden tools, but it's to the point I don't think any of it will come from Sears.

And to add somewhat of a deal here, if you're looking for NOS Craftsman tools, check out your local Blains. They have limited inventory, but my store had some USA adjustables and pliers that just went on the clearance rack. They are replacing with newer Craftsman, although I'm not sure if it's SBD or Sears sourced stuff.

I arrived late to this thread and have only contributed a little bit, but I do greatly appreciate the heads up on deals here. I don't purchase too many of the smaller tools from Sears now since I pretty much own all the hand and power tools most Sears stores sell but the majority are older and made here. I have earned thousands of dollars in points the last year and spent it mostly on consumables and grocery items from Kmart.

With the Sears in Portage and Saginaw, MI, closing, the likelihood of me going to a Sears and making a purchase now is less and less as the closest big Sears is 45 and 65 minutes away from me.

i still look for deals, but the last 6+ months have been super slow. i post any deals i see but theres only so many times you can post the same item at its "sale" price, ya know? but i appreciate all of you guys who keep this thread up. i think im officially out of points, tho even playing xtra i still end up with enough to order a screwdriver a week so im still creeping s/k to see whats out there.

btw my local kmart is (thankfully) still open so those weekly screwdrivers still get free shipping to store. i know im hurting more than im helping at that point, but F it, right? :)

also, somethings going on with my local hometown store--ive got 7 orders pending from myself, a friend, and a family member, all in my name to pick up and its been closed for 2 weeks now. from what im seeing on FB the district sales mgr is claiming theyre switching owners and will be open 'in a few days/by the end of the week'. i hope that happens soon...im guessing this probably started about the time sears bought hometown back. we'll see.

How would you guys feel about buying a Kenmore refrigerator at this point?

Honestly, I quit buying major appliances from Sears after the Craftsman brand was sold off. I just didn't know whether the Kenmore brand would also be sold off, and then how hard would it become to get help with a warranty claim.

You can find horror stories involving any sellers, but the stories vary for how the seller helped to resolve the problem and/or provide compensation. With their current state, I would not expect the service from Sears to be as good as what you get from some other sellers (e.g. Costco).

If you're good at appliance repair, then find out the manufacturer of the Kenmore model. It might be harder to get a part from LG than Whirlpool.

Just noticed these price drops, and it's strange they chose a category that is looking bare at the nearest Sears store.

Here's one I don't own, and might be at it's lowest price ever:

Maybe a new low for this one. I already have an old Craftsman USA set, but I think I'll get this for the T-handle function.

Craftsman 13 pc. Quick Fit Nut Driver Set $13.49

spin_prod_237434201

spin_prod_949915712

That is a really nice set, much more compact than the regular-Craftsman set that has every nut driver with an attached handle, and has one or more sizes that the regular-Craftsman set doesn't. It's rare for it to go on sale at all, usually it's a 'Great Price' or something, so I 'paid' the full $20 price last year. Oh, and they are standard 1/4" hex ends, so you can use them in other tools too if you want.

It's also very rare for any of the shopvac accessories to go on sale outside of 5%/10%-off-storewide sales. I might have to grab one of those if the prices hold a few more days, not great timing for me but those are some great prices.

I have a set that attaches to my leaf blower and it makes doing the gutters on a cape Cod style house so easy. I blow the gutters out prior to doing the yard weekly. Only drawback if the leaves are wet in the gutter.

Not sure about dragging the big shop vac around the yard though.

I have this one posted, and I have used it on both ends of my shop vac. Like you say, if the leaves are wet blowing them makes quite a mess, but they don't vacuum well either in that scenario. I usually still end up cleaning them on a ladder by hand, but if you do it weekly I can see that working well.

I have the Craftsman set as well, and bought a rubber coupler of course at a Sears hometown with points, and use it with my Milwaukee blower. Not bad enough that I need to do it regularly but when I do having an umbrella is a huge help. That **** is nasty
