If you need a filler, this outlet with nightlight is $.94. Available locally in hometown store that is a bit far from me, and shipping.

https://www.sears.com/3-outlet-power-tap-with-nightlight/p-03418956000P

Disclaimer:
-not tools
-not sure how good this is, but I have two being shipped to me. Even if the nightlight is a complete junk, the 3 outlet for 94 cents is ok deal. I can always use them for plugging in cell phone chargers, etc.

I don't think I've ever had an order ship from a Sears warehouse.

Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Anything shipped to a store for pickup is always from a warehouse, since they won't do store-to-store shipping for orders (which is unfortunate for scarcer items). So for those who still have a local store, this will usually get you better-packed items than doing home shipping, when you have a choice.

For home shipping, the best way to be sure where your stuff came from is to check the UPS tracking number's detailed history. Sometimes I have Googled the initial city name and 'sears', and been able to tell if there is a store or only a warehouse in that city. (IIRC the sender address on the shipping label does not show the store that shipped it when it was shipped by a store, only the nearest warehouse, so you have to check the history.)

I have had several items bought inside my local store that had those big warehouse inventory labels on them, so that isn't a good indicator; everything they sell starts in a warehouse before it gets to the local stores too. :)

The reviewers are pissed that the light isn't brighter and the outlets are too close together, but seems like it would still be useful in the right circumstances, especially at that price. :)

I have one of these outlets and it works just fine. I don't know why some are complaining about the outlets being to close together, as long as it isn't a chunky usb charger, it is perfectly fine. I think some people just like to complain about everything.

I imagine they're talking about those big transformer bricks, yeah. I have some little 1ft extension cords to use with those, got a box of 10 or 12 on Amazon a few years ago.

I've seen these on clearance at my local Kmart for quite some time. I don't understand the ******* and moaning about it. For less than a dollar you have a triple tap with a photo-sensitive light but the real kicker is a few pegs down on the shelf are some power strips for less than $4. I guess you can't please everyone when they're getting a deal...

I like the idea of the 1' extension cords though.

My local Sears is in the process of restocking a number of items from the blowout sale. It may be worth checking your local store's inventory again.

Mine surprisingly arrived today. I was expecting them to arrive tomorrow.

Both of them are working fine but the lights are very dim. Pretty much useless as night light. Still a decent deal since I paid with points.

This Evolv impact was ~$9 and it went Temporary unavailable. I just notice it is now back but $30  I guess someone realized the price was too low? :lol_hitti

So, the local Sears store did have a Spend $100 Get $100 cashback in points for 9/8 - 9/21.

The current one is 9/22 - 10/5, with 10 monthly installments. First $10 issued the next day, and then every Sunday. 7 days to use each installment of points.

I noticed the tool box drawer trays restocked, but not much else.

The 10" Evolv adjustable wrench got restocked, and kept the blowout price.
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-evolv-10-in-adjustable-wrench/p-00910065000P

8" is still unavailable though. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-evolv-8-in-adjustable-wrench/p-00910069000P

I ordered both of these on 9/14. My initial ship-to-store estimate was 10/14. My 8" showed up 9/19, but I couldn't get to the store till 9/24. My 10" showed up last night, 9/25, apparently accompanied by several more to restock the shelf peg.

PS: Unlike most Evolv-branded products (Taiwan), these are made in China now, but still seems well-made to me. Rubber grip feels good, chrome finish looks good, and has metric and SAE measurements laser-etched on the head. The package was kind of a pain to pry open, but in a different way from any other Sears packages I've dealt with; two plastic clips pointing in different directions, in recessed holes.

Thanks for posting. It was hard to find if my purchase on the 23rd qualified, but the SYWR shows the installments. These weekly installments are about useless if you don't have a store left nearby. I have one about 20 mins from work, so if I place an order each week and go every 4 weeks to pick it all up at once I guess it would be worth my time.

I hate dealing with Sears anymore, but I guess you can't beat free.

Now that free cash doesn't work on anything I am completely done with Sears except for the rare 75% off deals.

Here is another one if anyone looking for a filler or only have a couple bucks of points that going to expire. I have several of these and we love it. I was buying them at $5-6, at $3 that is an awesome deal imho (I do not think I have ever seen them at this low price). They have different color, this one is camo.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-led-pocket-light-camo/p-A031648686

My only complaint with these is the lack of a magnet on the outside of the clip. Competitor's lights have that and it makes them infinitely more useful. Of course, those lights are not as good of a deal.

Agree @Super Sport.

It does have a weak magnets at the bottom of the flashlight. When I say weak, I mean it will not hold itself if you need to have it to stick upside down like working under the car.

EDIT: the magnet maybe better now. Mine are probably ~2 years old or older, so maybe there are new and improved version of these.

Just be careful and double check that you get everything you ordered, you'll end up with 4 different email alerts and it can be difficult (especially with other customers about - Ha! not usually a problem at Sears, but occasionally it happens) to go through all that stuff when they bring it all out in an oversized bag. Too many times I've had to go back to the store either to have them go in the back and search for something that had my name on it that was already marked online as "picked up", as well as return something that wasn't actually the item I ordered. The recent putty knifes and 8" evolve wrench were a couple I had to take back. Apparently at my local Sears if it doesn't show up on the truck, they just go out on the floor and pull anything that looks close regardless of stock number mismatch.

So I notice some of the items at Sears, it has "Store Pickup - Call Store for Availability". When I select "Shipping", there is a red button for "Add to Cart". But when I select "Store Pickup" that button is gone.

So... what's the deal here? do I really need to call the store to order? Obv I want to use my points, and would prefer to order online.

I think they’re trying to clear the warehouse not store stock. They have been playing with their online cart though lately.

I had an irritating experience picking up my 10" Evolv wrench this morning. I had been notified by Sears that the item was officially ready for pickup, so naturally I went to pick it up. The person handling my pickup was the back room manager herself. Wellll, she couldn't find it. So I told her I'd seen on the website that these had been restocked at this store, so could she please go look out on the floor.

She did come back with the correct item and gave it to me, but I'd been waiting about 10 minutes by then, so I asked for the pickup guarantee coupon. I've only ever gotten one a couple times before; it's such a rare occurrence for me to ask, and this seemed like such an obviously deserving situation. But no, she adamantly refused, claiming that it doesn't count because "they shipped it wrong", she "did me a favor" by bothering to go get it off the floor at all, and she's "not gonna give a $5 coupon for that!" Oh, and "there were 3 other customers" while I was there, as another excuse. I pointed out that the big sign on the wall says "5 minutes guaranteed", not "5 minutes guaranteed unless they shipped it wrong or something". She didn't care.

I didn't want to piss her off since I have to keep dealing with her (it's my only remaining local Sears), so I just gave up. Why the heck couldn't I have gotten a regular back room employee today (who are usually more cooperative) instead of her lazy customer-service-disregarding attitude... She should've showed up apologizing for the mixup and handing me the coupon without even having to ask for it.

Sears certainly has its good moments, but the inconsistency really drags them down.

For future reference (I don't recall seeing this OEM posted before), someone on SD figured out that the Craftsman drill presses are made by Rikon / General International.

Yeah. It always ***** when some store employee acts like coupons come out of their pay or something. Ideally one of the nicer employees could get promoted to replace her, but we're probably stuck with her till the whole store shuts down.

Rikon makes (made?) a lot of the bench top tools, including the band saws and lathes.

My local Sears in liquidation actually has a Rikon bandsaw out on the floor. It looks identical to the Cman only different colors.

I think the employees are penalized somehow if it takes more than 5 minutes. I know several times when I used the store kiosk to pick up items, they close or stop the clock within 2-3 minutes. As recommended by someone here I use the in car pickup. My vehicle is sometimes like this- tall / blue/shirt. I’m standing at the kiosk.

Kicking myself now for not paying more OOP to order that chisel set with the missing prybar sooner... it's gone "Temporarily Unavailable". So much for that nice combo plan. Website said my store didn't have any, but even if my store actually does, not being able to order through the website means chat probably wouldn't want to help with the prybar fulfillment afterward.

I ordered the 12piece chisel/alinement/punch set for store pickup. I talked to chat today about the prybar that was missing. First they asked if the package was damaged or open when I got it. No i replied. Then they said there was not anything they could do. But when I told them I ordered the set via the web after viewing the description along with the picture showing it. Then the agent said he would give me $2 back. I questioned him again why they won’t provide what’s pictured and in the item Description. Then he offer to order and send me the prybar after I verified the correct one. So I’ll get it shipped to me due about midweek.

It's a storewide average for the 'did they have too many over 5 minutes' thing. And she had already prematurely hit the 'done with this order' button at 3 minutes in, so she was already safe as far as the computer records knew. They have a stack of preprinted coupons on cardstock back there, so nobody would've known the difference except that she felt personally offended at the idea of giving one to me when her made-up gotcha rules felt I didn't 'deserve' it. :p

when i contacted chat about the missing pry bar i explained up front that the issue was the pry bar was missing and in its place was another, smaller chisel. maybe that was enough to get them to act, but im glad theyre sending out the missing bar. its longer than the package the rest came in.

Glad you got this sorted out!

I can not believe they offer you $2 wtf. It should either they ship you the pry bar for free, or you return the whole package and they provide a refund.

$2 is not going to get you a similar pry bar at Sears (or anywhere) to replace the one that is missing. imho that pry bar worth more than $2.

Exactly what I told him. The prybar was not listed for $2 and I purchased the set based upon what was listed and shown on the page.

Back when there was a local Sears for me to ship to store, they’d stop the clock -sometimes within seconds of it starting- whether you picked up in store or in car. I never saw them let the clock hit 5 minutes, but they rarely handed an order to a customer that quickly.

My store rarely gets my stuff out to me in less than 5 minutes but they almost always stop the clock at 3 minutes and change in seconds. They are pretty free with the $5 off coupons which I don't bother to take any more as they seem almost useless to me. They restrict certain items and most times even after the $5 off you'd end up paying more than if you ordered it online without the coupon.

The Portage, MI, store? That has been my home store for the last seven years now and it is sad to see it close. When I first moved down to Kalamazoo I thought it was quite the store with it being two stories! That was a big difference compared to the Saginaw, MI, store I grew up going to.

Yes, the Portage store. I worked in tools there for a year or two while I was in college. Sad to see it go.

We drove across the state on I94 last week and in the past I would often stop at the Ann Arbor, Jackson, and Battle Creek stores along the route. It's crazy that they're all gone now.

Good grief, that #$^$& Evolv adjustable wrench packaging. This is thick grey plastic unlike anything else I've gotten from Sears, not the usual clear plastic that is pretty straightforward to cut. Oh, and the only instruction on the back of the package is to oh-so-helpfully indicate that you should cut the ziptie which redundantly holds the wrench to the package. Yeah, that part ain't the problem, lol.

I was annoyed with the first one I got, but was able to get it open the 'right' way after fighting with it for maybe 30 minutes poking/prying/pulling. This second one, made the same way, just.would.not.open. Wasted two hours trying various things, while needing to be careful not to harm the wrench grip or finish (or myself). I finally got it out the 'wrong' way by using heavy-duty tin snips to cut one corner of the backing away from the bar that holds the wrench to it; there was just enough room to wedge them in under/around the wrench without damaging it.

So, for anybody else who buys these wrenches, just start with the tin snips and skip the hassle, in case you have one of the extra-stuck ones like me.

It really is sad to see it go. I spent much of my college year shopping the Saginaw store for the majority of tools I have in my shop and when my grandpa took me there with him when I was a little kid.
I made that same drive across I94 many times. I work in Marshall which made the Battle Creek store much more convenient to shop at for my woodshop classes I taught compared to the Portage location. I am sure we have crossed paths a few times. Once the Portage store closes, I am unsure of which Sears I will go to or even if I go back; I even made an offer to buy the Sears signage from the buildings but was denied that request. From Kalamazoo it is much closer to shop the Grandville store (which is still a really nice, two-story store) or the Lansing store (which is an ancient but nice store with a towering water tower on campus) but closer from work. Judging from the looks and location of the Lansing store, I think this store is one that opened when Sears began opening retail locations in the 1920s and 1930s; it is an interesting layout but still well kept and from what I am told from friends who work in the company, it is a top-fifty store along with the Kmart in Marshall.

Oh wow, the light-up letters above the entrances? I guess you've got a big barn or something, I imagine those are huuuge down at ground level.

From what I've heard on the anonymous employee forum before, there are a lot of things which they bizarrely refuse to sell at liquidations and insist on sending to the dumpster at the end instead. I'm guessing that's what happened to those signs, but for those it might not have been till weeks after the liquidation sale ended, since they'd have to get a sign company out there with special equipment to get them down. So, if there's any chance of getting them when this next closure happens, I think it would be by catching the timing just right to 'happen' to be there with a trailer (and maybe some refreshments for the sign crew ;) ) when the signs are actually being taken down at the very end.

Made an in-store purchase at my Sears this evening. Unfortunately most of the sale items I had on my list that were no longer available online are also out of stock in my store, by now, but I did find one of them - the infamous punch/chisel set, the last one my store had of it. Unfortunately I'll have to pay full price for the 'missing' prybar later since I missed the window to order the set online for that trick, but there were enough other things in the set that I can't get otherwise that I didn't want to also miss out on the 64%-off sale on it. The other two items I got, my store still had 4 or 5 of and were still orderable online for local pickup, but I needed over $15 in one transaction so I went ahead and got them in-person too.

$11.94 sale, $32.99 regularly https://www.sears.com/craftsman-12-pc-chisel-alignment-set/p-A015176860 (#943115)

$1.94 sale, $5.99 regularly https://www.sears.com/craftsman-1-1-2-in-stiff-stainless-putty-knife/p-00994813000P

$2.94 sale, $6.99 regularly https://www.sears.com/bond-manufacturing-co-bds7265np-stainlessweeder/p-A026748421

Oh, and I got my hopes up when the receipt printer spit out some coupons, but they were just lame "today only"s for $10 off $40/$45/$60 in shoes/clothes/home... and a reminder to check my account every week.

PS: A tip for anyone else looking in-store... they had a lot of the sale tags posted, but I saw several things that were missing their tags (still marked full price). Every blowout item I checked on the store price scanner was still the same price as the website (and for items that have gone to Temporarily Unavailable status on the website, no longer displaying a price, they are still the same price in-store as what the website price had been).

I visited a store today and pretty much blown out. I asked when they were restocking and he said they would restock with Xmas merchandise. I asked - tools? He mentioned the cardboard islands for the displays. Sounded sort of vague to me.

Craftsman cutting fluid for tap/die was $1.94 from 4.99.
Super S air tool oil was .94 from ?

Craftsman putty knives as Hexen mentioned above.

Update on the Craftsman 5 LED light for $2.94. The magnet will hold on my range hood when I tested it while cooking dinner.

Gotta multitask sometimes.
