So, went into my store today...
Firstly, I finally solved the mystery of what that SD person was talking about a couple months ago with the infamous 'black packages' comment. My store now has a large shelf section freshly stocked with Craftsman Ultimate Collection stuff, which is in black packages. They are not replacements for the lower-priced/sold-individually items we mostly like to buy.
There were also employees stocking piles of all the holiday-ad-type items (e.g. the two-pack of toolbags), with no changes to the packaging. At least some of the store is looking better-stocked again now, but there are still a lot of empty pegs in other areas. I went in hoping to find the DC clamp meter, but nope those are still sold out even in-person. Near the Ultimate Collection stuff, I was amazed to see they've managed to get a few Knipex items back in-store! But I didn't have
that many points.
I found something else to spend all my points on instead, though... THE CRAFTSMAN ORNAMENTS ARE BACK!

3 designs this year that I didn't have yet! I'd thought for sure there wouldn't be any more, but Sears somehow managed to get another year ordered. And they are even on sale right now, 30% off ($6.99 vs $9.99). My store hadn't bothered to put out the sale tags, so I'm not sure how long that sale will last.
They didn't bother to post them on the website last year, IIRC, but they have this year.
Pewter Hex Nut Snowflake with 2019 year charm - almost-repeat from 2017, which I did already own, (and 2018, which I didn't get) but this is such a cool design I got it again with the new year
Pewter Table Saw - new to me, but it's a repeat from 2014 & 2015
Pewter Nailgun - new to me, but it might be a repeat from 2010
Pewter Tool Stocking - repeat from multiple prior years
Pewter Hammer with black grip - repeat from multiple prior years
Pewter Wrench Set - repeat from multiple prior years
There is a maximum of 3 of each design per store. They are also currently available for home shipping. Oh, and they seem to have only sent these to full-line stores, I didn't see my region's Hometowns come up as available pickup locations on any of the designs.
And lastly, the updated sale-tag design that apparently has been slowly spreading over the last year or two has finally made it to my store. I found a spot that still has an old-style one up near a new one, for comparison (new one is on the left):
Not sure if this means they're finally replacing their decrepit old tag printers, or if they just updated the software on the old printers.
