JoCo: I might own 50 hand carry toolboxes and have yet to find one of those old Craftsman Heritage cantilever boxes. my Kennedy ones hold maybe 100 pounds of tools in them so guessing those will hold a lot too. nice find!!

OTG: I can't say i've ever seen that cabinet full and while you might not have all Heritage items in there it sure looks PURDY. I also like your tool boxes and I even saw a tool board in one of the pics that was pretty full. keep up the great work finding all the missing ones.

All: i'm not a big fan of this little Heritage vise, but it's solid and is built well. I do like the old heritage table saws, but really never liked their wobbly stand that are hard to move so when I build my woodshop in a 2-3 years even if I get a sawstop (I might need to be a lottery winner if I do buy one) I'd like to put one of the old Craftsman table saws and build it into a shop table.

hope all your Heritage boys and gals have a great Thanksgiving!!

OTG: That wall cabinet is impressive! I've ran across three of them but every time it turns out to be the crappy "home owners" version. One of them was NIB. Probably should have picked it up anyhow but my disappointment meter was ******* off the charts.

Honza: Those cabinets ran for several years so you've got at least a couple different ratchet variants that would be period correct. If I ever get one I'm going with Gen 1 or 2 box heads.

I just stuck that crown era master set in there. Not sure exactly what came in there originally, probably MDF stuff.

There is a decent crown top on eBay right now! Price is not too high yet either

Thanks smoke. Most of my craftsman stuff I find locally pretty cheap. Sears has been big here for a long time.

Looking for Heritage logo expertise. Is it possible that the box on the left could be original? Ot did Craftsman do reissues in later years? Have a chance to move on this cheap, but only interested id it's an original Heritage logo. Any input is welcome!

I’m on my phone and for some reason can’t blow the pic up for a closer look but I’ll say no. I believe I’ve seen that box before. Heritage logo is in wrong position for the Heritage era. Look to see if the badge is riveted on. The box like that I saw previously had a sticker for a badge. No rivets. Either a user add on Ora later model Craftsman limited promo piece. Definitely not a 45-58 box.

Looks like an add on sticker to me

Sears did reissue a carry box with the heritage logo on it. I saw my brother get one for Christmas one year so I remember being super jealous of him. Now I can visually see a difference and don’t feel the same feeling. The original heritage logo carry boxes are much heavier!

I've seen one of those pop up on CL with the sticker badge in the same spot so I do think it's a factory item but definitely a later year crappo re-issue.

I had a good tool box day. Happy to add another dome to the growing collection. This one is another of the 1946-only club and is the smallest long handle dome box Sears ever offered. It's an interesting hybrid of the center lock domes (tote handle exposed when close) and the 47-48 oddball hasp boxes. This box only came with one removable socket tray as opposed to three in the larger boxes. This needs a good scouring and the handle re-pinned then will go up on the shelf with it's long lost siblings. The seller told me her father purchased this shortly after coming home from the war and used it as his "inside the house box". 5 down and 4 to go!

A good friend picked this up for me. I'm guessing one of the earliest Heritage machinist chests due to lack of drawer slides. Lacks the articulated lid support on the left hand side but I'm guessing Kennedy.

A couple of Heritage items I have found but never show here:

And inside the little box

A nice 3/8's drive spinner set. But I have never quite figured out what the leather pouch is for, exactly. Punches? Chisles? I don't know.

Sweet spinner set. Pouches are all the same size, so punches would make sense.

Nice 3/8 set bow...even has the T bar! I've yet to run across that set. The leather pouch is indeed for a punch and chisel set. I know I've seen it in the catalogs but I'm too brain dead to find it tonight.

There are many Rabbit Holes Ive fallen down thanks to Garage Journal, but none deeper than the heritage logo one! I will start posting some pictures, but its gotten ridiculous.

Quick question, does anyone have or know of a good picture or tool list of a Carpenters Wall Cabinet? I have 2 wall cabinets I'd like to complete but all I've found is the tiny grainy picture in the back of the 1957 Hand Tool catalog. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
MADC

These are from the 52 catalog. Hope they're better than what you've been going off of. Looking forward to seeing your stash!

Beemer- when you have some time you should post that nice 1/4 drive set that is still covered in blo. Even if you have already posted it, you should again. It is super nice!

No luck in the actual digitized catalogs but this clip is in the photos section provided by David Maher. Hope this helps Madc.

JoCo,
Awesome box!! I'm equally intrigued by your woodworking bench. Have you previously posted pics of that?

I never have OOB. I've always considered all my woodworking stuff purely utilitarian as I've been fooling with that stuff much longer than this tool collecting affliction even though most of my machinery is quite vintage. That's a 1928 HB Smith jointer in the background in most of my pics. I built the bench almost 30 years ago and it's served me well. I'll snap some pics soon and throw them on here.
