Last night I got Perk plumbed enough to hopefully get the knuckle boom moved to the final location. I need to get some hydraulic fluid today, then I might try and shuffle things tonight, but I am leaning towards Saturday, it should be warmer then and I can get help in the daylight.

We went for it tonight, Perk functioned under its own hydraulic power, we unbolted the boom and shuffled it away from the cab about 8”, now we have too much clearance, but I will wait for final adjustments until after I get the larger 100 gallon fuel tank installed, then we can squeeze the boom up tight to the tank. Still need to do some plumbing, but at least we know it functions.

Would be nice to get some field lighting for the yard. Really light things up... like a baseball field.

It was actually not too bad, there is a light that is burned out, once I change that, it will be much better. I was just excited to have the knuckle boom all folded up. Even though it functions, I still have a ton of stuff to button up and rework. At least I am on track to have it fully functional by spring.

Thanks guys, I am over at the SG now, going to try and dig out the Cascadia so I can get a fuel tank off. Once I know where the fuel tank is going, everything else falls into place for the layout of Perk. I bought some hose and fittings, should be able to get things all laid out this weekend, then I can start building brackets and dealing with final hose design.

Got the Cascadia pulled out, it was a bit frozen in, took a lot more effort than I thought.



I just got the fuel tanks out, need to trim a bit more of the old tank straps, then I can put the Cascadia back, the more I look at the mirrors, the more I think they may be useful on either Perk or maybe even OMO. I am not taking them off yet, but I will once I get a few more loose ends cleaned up, probably sometime in 2021.

I'll admit I can't keep up with the shell game. Are the tanks going on the Perk? If so, where?

I took both tanks off, but only one is going on Perk, it will replace the smaller one. Hopefully they are the same diameter, looked like it, but you can never tell until you actually try and bolt them up. I will end up with 100 gallon tank instead of a 60, passenger side only.

Pines, those lines are temporary, just to get it located, I have to mount the tank, mount the cooler, mount the air dryer, and I am sure there will be other things to do, once I have established where things are going, I will start making lines to fit the permanent locations.

Run and tape or even string or rope around both tanks to see if they are actually the same diameter before you go hoisting it up there to try and mount it. Might save some aggravation.

I am running a reefer tank on my old DT and I found out the hard way they made a few different diameters of those.

Today I am gathering more stuff to bring to TH, it is a balancing act, don’t want to take too much stuff, don’t want to screw myself over at the SG, so far I am doing different types of projects, as soon as they overlap, I might be in trouble tool wise. I am going to need a few more travel boxes so I can have some of the tools and supplies loaded up, electrical/wiring stuff will definitely be one of the boxes. No point in buying duplicates, will just have to be cautious of what I am planning on doing at each location.

Loaded two trucks, now ready to get lunch, then unload things at TH. I have Clark situated so I can remove the forks, then get to the mast ram, so it can be repaired, I want it working right for the spring.
