Craftsman Laser Distance Measure (50-ft / 15-m) - $14.94

For anyone with points left to burn, I picked up one of these after Thanksgiving and have found it handy for getting quick, approximate measurements:

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-laser-distance-measure-50ft-15m/p-A059679301

It appears to be available for shipping... and is actually in-stock at a couple of the remaining stores by me. It's not a Hot Buy, so any coupons should work.

I think I paid around $22 for it... and am thinking of getting another. I checked it against a Lufkin tape measure... and it was well within 1/8th of an inch at about 10 feet.

After 3 months, it feels like this thing is already being booted from Sears.

I like mine, and got about the same accuracy as you. The metal body might make it more durable than the Workpro version's plastic body. This item may have sold better if the range was double the current 50ft (and included a case).

The speeders and tamper proof screwdriver are coming from great star now so they’re probably purging the old stuff. Think the I beam style is being phased out.

The speeder is a conflicting item. The bearing is smoother in the older (apex?) version but Great Star’s finish is way better it’s just that they don’t grease it well.

They knocked $100 off the 3/4 impact set and it seems like they’re phasing out some old impact stuff so I’d keep an eye on it. I can’t pull up the link atm since their website won’t load on my iPad for some reason.

These are actually pretty decent quality if you need SAE. Especially considering how expensive the box end wrenches sets available elsewhere are. I prefer the box ends because if you have to put a bit more leverage on them they don’t hurt your hands if you grab them from the end and happen to slip and in hard to reach scenarios where you’re forced to hold it by the end. Personal preference perhaps.

They canceled the order. Still shows in stock though.

Weird, still shows in stock usually it goes “temporarily unavailable” with that old stuff. I’d wait until after midnight central and try again if it still shows in stock at that price. You should be able to use the 5 off 50 and 10% from the credit card which would be a pretty decent price.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I've not seen it before. I've seen the 4 installments of points but this morning I purchased $100 of stuff from sears and got $100 back in points. If they show up tomorrow Im going to try to chat (shipping isnt free) and order that tap and die set among other things. Pretty well bought everything Doohickey posted except the sander. The strap wrench was out of stock when I placed the order. Also got $17 off and $7 in surprise points to use.

Bought a pair of craftsman overalls for $28 and another craftsman long sleeve shirt. I really like those shirts.

Edit: Ill be dang if that tap and die set didnt just go up to $110... Shouldve got it for $60 when I could... :(

Did you get $100 in points or $100 in ten weekly installments?

It doesn't say anything about installments. Just says that '$102.17 in points will be available after your order has been delivered.'

We'll see.

Yeah, please let us know. I know the current promo is $100 back on $100 but it’s in ten installments of $10. If you look at syw.com on your account under points it should show you. The attached photo is how mine appeared on the syw appIMG_6381.jpg

Yep it’s a 10 installment one.

Anyone need some screwdrivers? I mean we know they’re not the greatest but they have a warranty, and with points, freecash and credit card offer should be able to get them to the $25 or less range. The historic low is around $35 if I recall.

Craftsman 14 pc. Tap Set Metric $8.99

Craftsman 39 pc. Standard Tap and Die Set $34.99. cant remember what the blowout price was on this

Craftsman 16 oz. Curved Claw Hammer $3.94

Craftsman 5 PC. PUNCH AND ALIGNMENT SET $3.94

Craftsman 12In.Heavy Duty Quick Release Bar Clamp $9.94. not a great price or anything, but this is one of several new items/pics/styles of clamps available. if this is as well made as the style it replaced, then $10 wouldnt be bad for it, dont think they usually got much lower than that.

Craftsman 1/6 hp 6" Bench Grinder with Lamp (21124) $39.94

Unfortunately the points are in installments. Suppose I shouldve looked into it further but it did not pop out and say anything about installments.

Sigh... And I cannot get chat to refund shipping on that $40 bench grinder... Going to end up wasting $100 in points if I cant get free shipping. No sears around here for store pickup.

The shipping quote they gave me was even more, in fairness it does weigh 84 pounds.

Since it's a brand new item, I guess they screwed up by giving it a $**.94 Blowout price.

Just buy a bunch of those $10 screwdrivers, says shipping is $4 if you can’t send them to a store around you.

$8.99 wrench sets, $9.99 socket sets are other good options, even if a few bucks out of pocket they make good gifts and doesn’t entirely waste the points, shipping is probably like $5 max.

You are forgetful.
You commented on this deal right after I posted it.
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8312094&postcount=13762

Beside the $10 screwdrivers mentioned above there are many clothing items that ship cheap.
Buy those also.

Keep in mind your points expire in 7 days so buy something right away once they load into your account.

Don't not use these points because of lack of free shipping.
Still decent deals to get.

Unfortunately I was fully aware, just didn't click on the right stuff to see where it said installments I guess...

I ordered the grinder, that took care of the $12. Used $5 off $50 (bought some shirts), $4 off for using sears CC, and $12 off in p0ints. Shipping was $9. Should be a handy little grinder but I would like to figure out how to put a wire wheel on one side. Seems it needs a spacer which sears no longer sales.

remember to always chat and ask for free shipping. they can say no or do the whole 'pay for it and we'll refund you' thing, but worst case is you pay the same as what you would thru regular checkout

I tried chatting before I ordered it and they said no. I chatted after I ordered it and they said they checked my previous chat and said the answer is still no.

You're now chatting with Tina.
Tina,
Thank you for choosing Sears, where moments matter. My name is Tina. How may I assist you today?
You,
I placed an order that was over $35. It charged me $9.25 for shipping. Is it possible to get that refunded?

Tina,
Blake, upon checking your previous chat transcript, I can see, our agent Kareem have clearly mentioned that item (This item has to be shipped from the different state warehouse. That's the reason this item does not qualify for FREE shipping.)
Craftsman 1/6 hp 6" Bench Grinder with Lamp (21124) Item # 00921124000 Model # 21124

Probably put a red flag on my account. DON'T GIVE THIS GUY FREE SHIPPING

Does anyone remember back in 2012 or so when sears had something similar to amazon prime? I absolutely wore that out. I would order something everyday.

The grinder is actually pretty good, I got one back in October when they first marked them down. I am actually tempted to buy another for my shed or garage since I put the first in my basement workshop. I have a $9 Chuck Homier speedway series one in my garage now, it isn’t so great for trying to sharpen lawnmower blades. :lol_hitti

Wire wheel though I did not attempt, I don’t know what sort of spacer you’d need but fabricating something shouldn’t be too hard if needed.

Too bad Parts Direct doesn't list the complete specs for all these parts that are being discontinued.
