No OEM glass available, guy says it is not going to look like the factory stuff. About $400 installed, have to wait until Monday for installation. :(

This is the most compact way to store these truck windows.

Used that new high definition window cleaner, makes the glass look like it isn’t even there.

I agree, glass guy says that the seals are going to look “off” since he can’t source the better glass, but I need it fixed and there is no good temporary way to seal it, the headliner would act like a wick and tomorrow is supposed to be windy and rainy. I am borrowing a dealer plate and will be using Bev, probably going to have to register her again, seems like the only dependable truck I have right now. Of course I say that before I have driven on the road, I guess I will have to report back later. ;)

The problem is the outer seals, they are part of the glass and when you remove them, unless everything goes perfect, they are junk.

Got the pig out, took about two hours between the driveshaft removal and the fifth wheel being in the way, it was a bit of a pain, should be equally challenging to get it back in.

Changing ratios, 62 MPH is too slow, truck was built for 4.10 ratio and they installed 5.86, speedo and odometer are both off, so it shows more miles. I can get 4.11 ratio, should do 86 MPH, but that isn’t my goal, I wanted less RPM, will be about 1800 at 75 MPH, should give me better MPG and a bit more sanity.

So the local place has a 4.33 ratio for $1,100 with exchange, I can pick it up today, speedo will still be off, but negligible compared to current ratio. Monday I can have 4.11 ratio but $2650, I think I am going to go with the 4.33, in theory this is only temporary anyways, so might as well save a few bucks.

Those prices are from salvage yard, the $2650 was a refurbished unit. Glad I went with the local place, brought my pig up and the guys says that it is a 4.63 ratio, not a 5.63 like I thought, so we are going with a 3.70 ratio and he will transfer my detroit locker over. I guess there is a mystical 3.55 for these, but it was not common back in the 1980s, stinks, because I will not get the RPM where I want it, mostly due to the fact that I only had a model number for the transmission and did not realize the variations they offered. I was figuring 0.74 for the over drive, in reality it was 0.87 and that is where I was really off. :( Won't have the unit back until next week, probably work on the hydraulic tank this weekend, then install the rear as soon as it is available.

Who knows, that TP could be worth a lot of money. I figure they can shut everything down for months and I will still be able to wipe my ***, might not be able to flush the toilet though. ;)

All this talk of toilet paper reminds me of the three sea shells. ;)

First world problems.

I have been doing things today, but not my things. :(

GF says her work is possibly shutting down for at least a week, she works at a rec department and handles before and after school care as well as senior programs. She has 6 months of accrued time between her vacation, sick, and personal time, I told her to just take it off.

I am worried that my future plans for the Hill are going to be short lived, I am not sure I can keep going with my Dad and all the issues, he is starting to question everything because he can’t remember anything that he is told, it makes me want to avoid him completely, but that amplifies things too. I don’t want to be stressed out forever, something has to change.

A guardianship to keep the company going?

Unfortunately he only cares to keep things going for the next five years, after that the company will officially become an "S" Corp and liquidation will begin. I am essentially making a nice package that will allow for an easy sale later. I knew this going in and I am planning things for going out, just not sure what is going to happen in between. I had a long talk with Dad this afternoon, we essentially agreed that I would spend the next year transitioning the company to a "less hands on approach", then he would still want to use me for certain things from time to time if I am available. One thing he did say is that there has been some weird stuff going on with the "Employee" and Dad thinks he may be leaving, if that happens, things will probably get better much quicker than anticipated. Right now I am between a rock and a hard place, but he really wants me to have the Hill, I told him I was still interested, but we would have to iron the details out before I was willing to put any money into the place.

I just wanted you to all know I am practicing social distancing, so make sure to give me space. ;)

Hysteria is almost set in, every local school is closing for at least two weeks now.

Tomorrow I am going to try and actually get something done that gets my project further along. :)

I keep watching this space expecting Brad to shoot Laura, or some other silly ****. You have got one drama filled life. Maybe you should send the employee to the Covid convention. :)

I hope not to buy too many more trucks, especially ones that don’t run. ;)

We got the shop at TH cleaned up pretty well, still need to do some fine tuning, but it should be a big improvement. Lots of dirt and dust needs to be vacuumed up, then I can start putting things away. There are a few more shelves that need to be cleaned off, then my Dad’s tool boxes need to go, overall I am pleased with things and slightly optimistic. Dad wants me to have the house, but I don’t want to invest a lot into it before there is a true signed agreement, then I will feel a bit more comfortable about things.
