Gregor - The Dremel troubles me. I would have thought you would have gone down the Foredom rabbit hole and found an excellent used unit which can also be budget friendly.
I do enjoy all the projects that you immerse yourself in, especially the two wheel kinds!
I don't know why I've never gone down the Fordam rabbit hole. It seems like a big jump from a Dremmel to an air grinder and maybe that's the middle. I honestly don't like the Dremmel that much - it's not nearly as powerful as you really need.
Damn you. I may need to look into this.

+1zanyad- it's only fair that sometimes we get to spend his money too.

Sorry.
I got a lump of coal in my stocking so I'm still a little grumpy.
Maybe next year I'll get two lumps of coal made by Festool?
Festool coal would burn forever but cost at least twice the price of normal coal...
You won't regret that at all. I get so much satisfaction from having a really sharp knife that it's totally worth it.
Look forward to hearing how you get on with it.

I couldn't quite justify the extra AU$160 for the aluminium base (or $260 for the granite!), so I made myself a timber base with some doubled up 18mm marine ply...
Been very happy with it so far, it's the Mini Barrage with the S90V Blade and the G10 Handle.no regrets there - that's a fantastic knife!

Yes, they are, but you didn’t tell me that they’re right handed…..Ha, the knives are beautiful
Sterling, I bought a much cheaper Kamikoto set that has a similar triangular handle design. I can't personally vouch for any lefty stuff but both Shun and Kamikoto websites indicates they are for both left and right handed use. I bought the Kamikoto set to try the single bevel Japanese knife design (I highlight the single bevel design because many people don't like it). It takes a little getting used to and a different sharpening angle but I frequently grab the Nakiri vegetable knife and utility knife. I'm sure Shun and Festool products perform better than my stuff but parting with more than a single $100 bill is hard for me. Thankfully I don't come across $500, $1,000, $5,000 or $10,000 bills.Yes, they are, but you didn’t tell me that they’re right handed…..
