Thanks guys for the well wishes.

Got home yesterday afternoon, but only after badgering the on call doc and nurses. The doc said he wanted to see one more blood result, as one was high in range, I asked,if it’s still high, how is staying here going to help verses being home? Anyway it was good and I left.

I’ll go follow up with my GI doc as I wasn’t real happy with the split diagnosis.

The ER doc thought it could of been a gallbladder stone that I passed, on with what I read up on, pretty much matched up what I experienced.

The on call GI was more tuned in with food poisoning, was asking what I’ve eaten in the past few days. My wife was there then, we ate the same stuff except lunch, I had a Cuban sandwich, she had something else.

The GI asked what a Cuban is and what’s on it? :shocking:

I’m not sure how you live and work in S Florida and not know what a Cuban sandwich is.

At any rate, I’ll follow up with a doc that I can talk with without all the distractions in the ER. There were a lot of people there that needed real help.

In the future, I’ll load up on Tylenol and wait for my regular doc.

I didn’t get the cab.:(

But I did get to go through a real exercise of hooking the generator up. A strong line of wind came through the area and knocked out power. Gen was ready to go with the exception of all the stuff that accumulated on top of it.

Then I had to retire the plug at the panel cause I though for sure I’d have gen in it’s new location by now.

I’ll be ready for the next time.

I haven’t been to Florida in decades and I live n ca but I am aware of Cuban sandwiches

You need a different doctor, this one must spend to much time at the country, probably yacht, club

Oh man, sorry to hear about your situation. Hope you're up and back to normal soon.
Thanks

Whatever normal is:lol_hitti

I guess that explains all of the unsold adds still up on marketplace.

Go easy Craig.

Thanks

Years ago I was in hospital for my a fib, waiting on a room, looking through CL and found a CM block grinder, yep, 1 mile from the house.
I call, they agreed to hold and I sweet talked my daughter into taking my truck and picking it up. Then I called the wife, after I knew daughter picked up, and asked her to help unload grinder from truck ( it was on a stand). Wife asks “what grinder????”
Babe I got to go, doc is coming.

I thought we weren't allowed to refer to anything by its original anymore?????

It’s acceptable to call a Cuban sandwich by its name here!

That’s why I’m going to my regular doc, from that point on once they confirmed nothing serious was going on, I started working on pushing for my discharge.
I even looked up their policy on self discharges.

Autocorrect got me a bit, but all joking aside, what is in a Cuban sandwich?

Strouty, you just knocked yourself out of the running to be my GI doc.

It’s a common lunch item in Florida, especially in the Miami and Tampa areas, but can be found about anywhere.
I grew up on the roasted pork version in Miami, first came across the salami version in Key West. And the Cuban bread, used to get it fresh from the oven at various bakeries, still warm. Used to grab a loaf and a few beers and that was my afternoon snack.

It commonly has pickles on them, which I don’t like, it’s just the meat cheese and mustard for me. They press the whole thing on a hot sand which press. I consider them perfect when the cheese melts ad runs out some and gets browned on the press.

Shorty can find them in Tally.

It has been years since I had a good Cuban sandwich - or cigar for that matter. Maybe I need to go visit my goddaughter in Daytona. I am sure I can find a good one there.

When I was flying regularly between FL and NJ, I would always get a Cuban at this place in the Orlando airport. It was the real deal.

I spent a fair amount of time in Cuba and will always go for a Cuban whenever I get the chance. I recently found a place in Mt. Dora, FL that had just about the best Cuban I've ever had.

Oh Yeah, glad you're out Craig.

It is almost cruel to post such pictures without the story to go with!

I get good deals, but not quite that good.:lol_hitti

Found them on FB, I got them for $5 each, bought everyone they had.

I was hoping you was going to double my money, but Shorty would of been sad. I enabled him to buy a few so he could safely move his cabs around.:lol_hitti I actually enabled Andrew too. Most are going to those guys, but I’m keeping a few, you all know me better than that.:lol_hitti

They are Colson brand, new, old stock in a business that was bought out. Guy I bought from saved them from the dumpster!

I need to find better dumpsters!

Jeff, I came across a FB MB post for 5” casters. I didn’t really need any, but a couple friends here could use a few, so I started chatting with seller. Got the price down a few times as the quan kept going up. She finally asked if I wanted to buy the whole lot, she guessed there was around a 100,.

Of course I’m interested:lol_hitti

So she then messages and the second box is 4” casters. Dang! Then says her husband wanted to keep some:headscrat.

In the end, he wanted to keep some of the 4” ones, I made the deal and went to pick up.

Now, I had fun with Shorty on this one. He wanted a hand full, then I told Andrew, mentioned he couldnt let Shorty show him up, he commits to a few, then I went back to Shorty and told him Andrew was buying 24 of them, can’t let Andrew out do ya!:lol_hitti

Shorty was up to 24, maybe more:lol_hitti. So, I had fun with it.

So there’s the back story.

$2?????
You cheap GI. Number 1 butterfly. 🤣

$12 so you do have one digit right. Send me $24/caster and I’ll send you a dozen.

Stay tuned for for next months safety video, proper riding techniques on a two wheel caster skateboard.

Thanks for the back story - that is funny.

That's wheely cool.

But there’s more: they both owe me a little more. I went through the truck was and paid for the wheel wash, it cost me $$$$x48 wheels!:lol_hitti

That's a great story and deal all in one. I would have bought all of them also. Shorty dose need help.

I’m having him sign a waiver that he’s aware casters have no brakes:beer:

Here’s Shortys caster board.
11a392bcff8815bd36f5d5fc79647c20.jpg

Steel out, steel in.
5”x3/8” flat bar that’ll be used for connection points on the I beams for the hoist.
d577546c1931e1f86ac9c5ff3c05914a.jpg
I love my little Ellis band saw.
2d7110914f94a59d81ffe269b392d350.jpg
Here is the layout. The beam will sit in the area marked beam, the 4” sq. Tube post will be directly below to the left. These pieces will provide a base for the beam to sit on and be bolted.
The piece on top of beam will be just bolted, I don’t want to wrestle trying to get the beam into a closed section.
The flat bar on the left will provide support for any potential twisting of the beam. It’s also drilled and tapped for hanging a hose reel on.
8057ee4d54cf06177b647538e58a20fb.jpg
I’ll start on the base plated for the bottoms of the post next. I’m prepping all the small pieces first, so when I drag the beams up I’ll be ready to weld out and get it up and out of the way quicker.

Some of the 5” will be used for caster plates for a Vidmar and another cab. The 3/8” lets me tap for the bolts to attach the casters.

Love the caster board. You even sloped it for Shorty with those unequal casters... should be more comfortable for him before the ER visit!

I watched a video on the Tapmatic... I NEED ONE! I tap so many holes, I think I can justify the cost. Thanks for mentioning it.

Anxious to see the next steps on the hoisting system.

I might be interested in that. I'm just starting to research them now and figure out which model might work for me. I will text you and we can talk offline (CB gave me your number). Thanks.
