Started the Mustang up after changing the oil earlier. Put the shifter handle on it and rolled it back and forth a few times. Atleast I know that 1st & reverse work. Need to get some 110 before I go for a ride.

What I'm supposed to do versus what I might do.
I'm supposed to finish tearing down the rear suspension on an '03 Escape for some wheel bearings and some seals. I was supposed to do that yesterday with one of my oldest but he ended up going out with friends. I ended up at the beach with my youngest and one of my nephews. That was only the second time this year I was at the beach and we live close. Got a nice sun tan and a very relaxing day out of it.
I should get that tear down done this morning...but...the kids are in school and I may end up back at the beach. Not many days left I can enjoy that before fall weather hits. Decisions, decisions.

OK, I am quoting myself but it is to give feedback. I have since using the air hammer to remove vinyl flooring in my kitchen for long periods of continuous running with on/off switching cycles. There are a couple of hours that it worked since the repair that even I wondered about but I am pleased to say the compressor has not faltered in any way during this time.
In the course of removing the vinyl flooring I made a broader chisel - about 50 mm as to the 19 mm that came with the air hammer. I had to sacrifice a sharp round pointed chisel though.

One of my wife's high school friends saved his money (mother wouldn't co-sign) and bought a triple black '63 Super Sport convertible with the 425hp 409, Muncie and positraction. He wasted very little money on options, with blackwall tires, dog dish (free) hubcaps and AM pushbutton radio with rear speaker. No power anything, including steering and brakes. As I recall it could lay rubber in any gear.The absolute coolest air cleaner and valve covers Chevrolet ever put on a motor.Mine dyno’ed at 428 horse and 487 ft lbs of torque.These ruled the streets in the early 60’s.

Worked on mounting a cigarette lighter adapter in the battery compartment of the '69 Corvette for a Bluetooth/FM adapter. Prior owner (my FIL) put in a side post Optima battery and there isn't a lot of room to work in there!

Prepped a biscuit tin (cookie can) for soldering a brass fitting into the bottom.
This involved: finding my bottle of soldering flux for 50-50 solder, buffing the finish from both the interior and exterior of the can, locating the center drilling a pilot hole, reaming the hole to size, and threading the fitting into the hole and tightening it with a wrench.
The actual soldering might happen today if I get enough paperwork done and telephone calls made.

Went to store some moving boxes in the garage, and the overhead door stopped ~3 ft up off the ground. Hmm, what's going on? Hit the button again, motor makes noise, but door doesn't move. Uh-oh, this may be a problem.
Crouch under the door, pull the emergency release, let the door back down. Hit the button again, motor makes noise, chain doesn't move. Ok, we've replicated our results, time to do some further exploration.
Lift up the door manually, get out the wheel ramps, move the boxes and the jack and the other odds and ends, roll the Beetle onto the ramps enough to get clearance under the opener. Grab the shorty ladder, a flashlight, and a screwdriver, and start taking things apart.
Finally drop the cover, and a lovely little pile of plastic shavings greet me. That's not good.
I know what this means, and at 6pm on a weeknight (hell, any night!) not what I want to find. Go to the other side and...
Yep, problem confirmed! I think this qualifies as an "Ah, ****!" moment. So now I'm looking at buying a new opener, because while I could buy just the worm gear assembly, I'm guessing that by the time I take this apart enough to remove the old one and install the new one, I can probably remove the whole opener and install the new one in the same amount of time.

Pretty darn happy after today. A friend and I finished installing the Mini-Split. I had him come over to help lift a few things and I took the 18K BTU window unit out of the garage and got this 12K BTU MrCool DIY unit installed. I absolutely love how quiet it is and it appears to be doing a fine job keeping the temperature manageable inside the garage. Obviously have plenty more to do (like install the line set covers that arrive on Friday) and order lighting.

Swapped out some new Silverstar bulbs in the cab marker lights. Then swapped out the reverse lights for some LEDs.
The reverse lights look very bright now. It'll be interesting to see what they look like after dark. I'm thinking maybe I should have done this $20 upgrade a few years ago.

Rolled my new project vehicle into the garage. She's in rough shape but the price (free) was right!
The PO had a half dozen similar units he was giving away since his kids had outgrown them. In an extremely clever twist he modded them all to run off 18V Milwaukee cordless tool batteries. Unfortunately I don't have any Milwaukee cordless tools, so I'll need to come up with a different battery solution. I'm not too concerned since my work is always tossing mostly used up 12V gel cell batteries and I'm sure I can cobble together something to let the kiddos rip around for a few hours at a time.

Decided to upgrade my Pioneer Avic D3 in my Ford ranger to something slightly newer...lol.
Pioneer DMH 1500 NEX. It's the same one in the Solara and I'm going to put another one in my STi. I primarily only use the Spotify or Pandora app. And apparently from what I've gathered the newer Pioneer head units do not have these two apps which is a shame because I really like them.
Also has the standard apple carplay in Android Auto.
It's comical to me that my 20-year-old Ford ranger has a newer infotainment system than my 2020 RCF... smh.

new pair of sway bar end links on the work truck after work today . LF was wasted . but i just do stuff in pairs for best performance .
dug out my old famrer buddys home made ramps for this job . they were made to hold up a mack cab over tractor . so my little 1.5ton 3500-hd chevy was no match for them .

Well first, finished tearing down my old lift, and then, my neighbor who helped me take it down, we started tearing apart his 4Runner on it…….love how just having a lift brings good times with neighbors and friends!

A couple of weeks ago the bathroom fan/heater **** the bed. Took it down today & cleaned all the snarge out of it & now the fan actually turns. Reinstalled it & everything is tickety boo. Didn't even lose much blood... (used my last bandaid though.)
Even took the opportunity to remove a large moth from another light fitting & gave it a burial at sea. (actually an assisted dive from the ladder into the bowl)

finished prep work on my new flatbed for the work truck . now to cut the old one off the 2 main rails and clean up the rails and set the new on and weld it up . and reason for weld on the rails is its a dump bed .

Cut and stuck down some more tiles in the stairwell.
I took the dog for a walk, and a couple blocks away from the house I spotted an engine stand on the curb with "free" on it. When I got back home, I drove the van over and picked it up. I spent about 5 minutes in the garage wiping it down, it was greasy as hell. I took a couple pics of it and listed it on FB for $40. Sold it in about 30 minutes, lol.
Cut down the shelf for the recycling totes since we switched to a 96 gallon trash tote. I cut it in half, still going to recycle cardboard and the blue barrel is for steel/tin cans.

Planned to do the outside face frame on the Front door so I can hand the storm/screen door, I had to change plans and go get more material as the door frame is thicker and the screen/storm door, needed thicker 1" face framing... (It wont fit inside the door frame - too wide...) got back and was told my son was on the way over to borrow tools for a project. One was my Skil saw, and so we had to side track for a different project where I needed to make two cuts before he could leave with it, Now I'm out of wood glue and dinner is nearly here so I'll have to go get the glue after dinner...

Finally got the oil changed in moms car. Had to wait for dad to not be working as mom won’t drive it on the ramps and won’t let me drive it at all lol. Tomorrow hopefully I’ll get the tires rotated on the two Camry. Also sorted through the tools I got at the pawn shop today too. The drain plug on the Camry was seized I had to dig out the big boy 1/2 breaker bar. I was really surprised as I’m the only one who changes the oil. I guess since it’s been a year since it isn’t driven that much the plug probably seized from the heat and cold every time it’s run. I kept hitting my head on the ground too because dad wants to sit in the car the whole time and weigh it down lol. With the huge breaker bar and a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter I was able to get the little drain piece out of the bottom of the cartridge filter but no oil drained out so when I took the filter out it all splattered everywhere I was kinda angry lol.
