Thanks,That has to be the nicest floating bookcase I have seen in a long time, nice work!
Haven’t.Riv, do you burn the carbon off the spark arrester screen periodically?
Took a minute before the old muscle memory kick’d in.I like bullfloating.
….floating , too?I like bullfloating.
The rear window, and the curves on the back of the roof are just beautiful.Ya don't see many coupes. Back in the day when I was starting out MG's were the mainstay in the shop and I've never seen a coupe in person.
Yes.….floating , too?![]()
Well you're getting more for your money with the one on the right.Finished the demo portion of our bathroom remodel, and started putting things back together.
Took this comparison pic of the original lumber and the new **** readily available at your local box store.
Spot the difference?
They're definitely cutting studs out of pecker poles these days., Riv. Probably squeezed a 2x3 out of the other half.Finished the demo portion of our bathroom remodel, and started putting things back together.

I'd be afraid to frame anything structural with the **** pine studs I'm getting down here.
My last house on Whidbey was framed with the 2x6's milled from the logs taken to clear for the house and shop. The property had been "selectively" logged and was a pecker pole farm when I bought it (later planted several hundred DNR seedlings). My logs were only 8"-10" diameter, but the local portable mill guy told me that my area was sandy and produced the tightest grain fir trees on the island. We went ahead and milled on site. The county required grade stamps, so I contacted and hired a lumber grader to come out and grade stamp my stickered stacks of lumber ($200). This was about 1997. The grader told me that my pecker pole studs were tighter grain than what was coming out of the mills at that time.
Still, I’d rather live with old growth trees and ****** houses than live with nice houses and no trees.Riv, that quite a difference between those studs. Lumber quality is not what it used to be.

I'm not sure you're old enough to call yourself an old fart.Fab’n up a little low-buck hitch mounted winch.
Us old farts need all the mechanical advantages we can get!
