They DO understand.
I hope you’re right. I feel certain they understand tone of voice. They DO understand.
We had a border collie/husky mix who didn't "talk" often, but every once in a while when I got home she'd make noise that sounded like she was speaking a whole paragraph. It almost seemed like she was trying to describe her day. "Rara raro woo wahroo" type noises at a normal speech volume.I hear Huskies are real "talkers". They will give grunts and howls - large and small to respond to their owners. I worked with a guy that had several of them all the time and he almost held "conversations" with his.
Gratuitous pictures of my new doggy girlfriend, Fifi. Just had her groomed yesterday so she looks very white and fluffy. Now I’m feeling like I should have had her cut shorter since it’s SO damned hot lately.
She was adopted in March, is 18 months now and is super affectionate. She’s a great off leash trail dog - runs ahead - never out of sight - but comes back to check in. Comes running full out when called. LOVES affection and being spoken to. Wags the entire time I’m telling her how pretty she is and what a good dog she is. I swear she understands!![]()
I am continually surprised at the unique personalities of dogs, even if they are the same breed and share general behaviors, each dog is truly an individual.Years ago I had a little poodle whose mood and manner changed as her hair grew out. Before she'd get a grooming, she was an absolute slob.... flop down anywhere, slouch around, etc. Get her groomed and she became a little princess show off. Posing to get compliments, sitting bolt upright, always looked like she was ready to have her picture taken. What a screwball!
Funny. That's what our alien overlords say about us.I am continually surprised at the unique personalities of dogs, even if they are the same breed and share general behaviors, each dog is truly an individual.
Exactly. They lack thumbs and vocal cords but other wise I am convinced dogs are SO much like humans and understand one helluva lot more than we give them any credit for in our human superiority arrogance.Funny. That's what our alien overlords say about us.![]()

Now, WTF is up with doing that to a 911?!!
What kind of shape was the Porsche in before you did THAT to it? Absolutely KILLS me to see a Porsche 911 as a rat rod of all things.
