a good suggestion has already been made. DC gate opener ran on batteries, with a charger that operates on a trickle charge and/or solar.... The batteries are the primary supply so no huge in-rush on the AC line. The AC line only powers the charger and solar can supplement the AC feed.Just curious...
Say we are starting with a gate located 650ft (or more) from the residence (and power source), but nothing has been done. No conduit, nothing installed yet.
What would be the recommended solution from the experts? I just recently visited a residence where the outer gate was easily a half-mile from the dwelling, with no adjacent structures/improvements/poco lines close by. As I punched in the gate code I was wondering how in the heck would they get power out here?
