My extended family has over 50 years of Sears employment. Add in another 50+ years of K-Mart employment from my in-laws. Still hard to believe there is not single one of these stores within a couple hundred miles.
Do any of your relatives able to collect any type of pension now from Sears/Kmart holdings that they started with when they retired?

Website is an absolute mess. There is a 115 piece Craftsman set (https://www.sears.com/craftsman-115-piece-mechanic-tool-set/p-A102532126) also on sale for $45 that looks reasonable for spare vehicles
But trying to get to checkout crashes things. Resetting password crashes the website. Searching for more items and fitlering by manufacturer crashes things

Sad end for what used to be an amazing store

What browser are you using? Both work fine for me with Edge, many sites don't work well with certain browsers such as Chrome and Firefox, others don't work well with Edge. Sites often work best with particular browsers.

firefox...but it's what i've always used including when they were having their super sales and we used to chat to get price matches and points and all of that. it's no biggie if i don't order from them, but i guess i'll check out chrome later and see if that works.

Had a Uncle that was 25+ year Sears employee when the Sears/Kmart merger happened. Prior to the merger, they had a defined pension plan and that stopped after the merger and they went to a 401K plan going forward. Those vested in the defined pension plan got whatever they occurred up until the merger when they retired.

They are demolishing the sears automotive store at sw 44 and western Okla City.
That sears department store was around as long as I can remember (1970's), I know it has been closed a while. Maybe the Walmart neighborhood market needs more parking. lol

The mall here was demolished in 2006. Sears held on til 2014. "Plans" to repurpose the building are still in the works today. Home Depot to the far left

Which mall did it use to be? One of the local malls here closed completely and was leveled and the Sears anchor lasted another few years. Then the sears building was leveled. The area is now a barren wasteland blocked off to keep people and illegal dumpers out.

The Salem Mall, Trotwood, Ohio, just a bit northwest of Dayton, Ohio. Built in '66..let's just say a lot of "firsts" happened there for me;) . Not in the picture, but there's a Lowe's right across the street. Next door Best Buy bailed out 5-6 years ago, citing too much theft. Talks of turning the building into a farmers market, co-op kinda thing have yet to materialize. Neighborhood is just a little too "sketchy".

The Sears in Frederick MD has been taken over by the liquidator. The last day of operation is January 15, 2023. I haven’t been In That store in close to a year due to being empty of merchandise and 1/2 of the store blocked off with most of the lights turned off.

My grandmothers family was from Xenia. I’m not sure if that was the one they shopped at. Do you remember or know if there was one in Downtown Xenia before the tornado in 1973-74(?) went through?

I don't believe Xenia had a Sears store prior to the '74 tornado. There was a "flagship" Sears store in downtown Dayton from '46-'92.

Ok thanks, maybe it a the Montgomery Wards in downtown Xenia. I was too young to remember what each “downtown” offered between my mothers family in western Pa and my fathers family hometown in Xenia.
In later years, in many areas the chains relocated to be anchors in the malls.

It sometimes sends a chill through me to know of some of these small Ohio towns being born and raised in same town Louisiana. I’ve drank a lot of craft beer and played a lot of disc golf in their Dayton/centerville area in the last 18 months.

I lived in that area many years ago. Missed the tornado by a few years thankfully. Don't remember a Sears in Xenia but it was a straight shot out of Xenia on RT 68N to the Sears at the Springfield Mall. Less than 15 miles I believe.

Home Depot and Lowes both have a holiday deal for a socket extension set similiar to what you have listed for roughly the same money.

If you search HD and Lowes you may find similar socket packages with free shipping. Lowes may even have that set available on their website.

And there is no shipping charges. Pickup local or free shipping.

Socket set is OOS: https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-CM-299PC-Master-Socket-Set/5001845681

As a test, for both items it would be $42 for shipping to my zip code for the cheapest delivery method.

There is a LOT of useless jibber jabber in this thread.(n)

It's really that simple, but we do have a few rules for you to post by. Namely:

4. This forum is for the posting of Hot Deals only. Discussion threads will be deleted. However, discussions about specific deals (replies to discussion threads) are fine and sometime even productive!

I hadn't looked at Sears.com in a while. They keep sending me emails. I did check today. They had a few deals on hand tools and I ordered a few pieces. Maybe worth a look.

Great Checking it out! Don't seem to want to load the whole page for me through.
Might have to try looking at it on my phone.

Looks like they added some more to the clearance since my order. If I would have waited I would have added this socket for 47 cents. I don't have this one. Dang. I have a 5.5 mm which is close enough though.
