    Sub Panel In Attached Garage

The total run is about 60’ between the panels. Plan on using copper wires. Seems like conduit the entire run is the way to go. 3/4 will be fairly flexible which should help in alignment to the panels.

    Sub Panel In Attached Garage

I would like to run a 50 amp sub panel into my attached garage. Between the main panel and sub panel location is an unfinished basement and a kitchen that’s built on slab. I would like the feed wire to go through a conduit on the outside of the house. The sub panel will eventually be in a...

Insulating a floor / foundation tie in

Jim, I like the boarder idea. I plan on tiling most of the area but was afraid the transition would cause the tile to crack. The orange isolation mat (Schueler?) is an option but expensive. Might also slow down heat transfer from the heated slab. Boarder would work. thank you Joe

Thank you all, very insightful information. nmk61802, in that picture you sent the insulation on the sides doesn't extend below the frost line. Is that okay? thank you! Joe

Insulating a floor / foundation tie in

Here is a sketch from the architect. The insulation in the sketch isn't on the sides of the slab like it should be. The foundation is needed to be bellow the 44" frost line.

Insulating a floor / foundation tie in

This post isn’t directly garage related but the project contains garage space. I am adding 800 sq-ft onto my home in Connecticut. The addition will be slab on grade with radiate floor heat. My plan is to insulate underneath and on the sides of the floor with 2” foam insulation. In the living...

    Harbor Freight tire changer advice?

Hoping it's ok to bring up an old post. Over the weekend I picked up the harbor freight changer and bolted it to a wood platform. I am practicing on a 185-65-14” tire on a steel wheel. I have no problem breaking the bead, dismounting, and getting the lower bead back on. I run into trouble when...

Looking for info on lift points/jacking points for vehicle lift

Does the autolift guide also show the balance point? I am looking at a bendpak xpr10 and want to figure out where the post will be in conjunction with my 2011 ram crew cab 4x4. Trying to determine were to put the lift in my garage. The bendpak rep talked me out of an asymmetrical lift with my...

    Garage door opener recommendations

I have had good luck with chamberlain. I installed 3 of the least expensive chain drive openers 4 years ago and no issues. They are kind of loud, I imagine the belt drive would be quiet.

2 post lift installers in CT

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a 2 post lift installer in CT. I have been looking at bendpak, rotory, and eagle. I would like to get prices installed and compare to the uninstalled price. Worried about unloading the lift and standing up the columns if I install myself. Thanks Joe
