    Garage ceiling fan

Anyone have a recommendation for a garage ceiling fan less than $400? I'm finishing up insulating the garage and have an infared heater and 12' ceilings. While installing the insulation at the top, it is noticeably warmer at the top than on the ground (big surprise). Its a 4 car garage, so...

    Moving to town

As the title says, we'll be moving about 25 miles and into town. Right now I have a shop that is approx 40 x 100. Part of that is a pole barn with dirt floors, part of it is an insulated and heated shop, and another part is finished with drywall, heat, 3/4 bathroom where my gym is. It's a...

    3D Printers

I have one, but its been collecting dust for a year. I got it to make a prototype of an invention that I haven't finished yet. It's kind of fun, but starting a business has gotten in the way of working on the invention. I've also made a few keychains for my son and nephews for gifts.

Buying a house with my dream shop!

A little update on the ol' shop: Life makes you zig and zag, and one of those zigs is that my wife and I decided to start a metal cutting business. We bought a used 5'x10' cnc plasma table, computer, and hypertherm powermax 85 plasma cutter. It took some work to get it hooked up, having to...

Buying a house with my dream shop!

We started moving into the house about a month and a half ago, and as with any move, its been hectic. The first thing I did was get the '68 moved over: Then I had to take care of all of the regular moving stuff (moving, organizing, unpacking, bla bla bla). I also put new flooring in the...

Lift Comparison Derek Weaver vs Greg Smith

I'm shopping for a lift and these two look pretty good: http://www.derekweaver.com/rodders-garage/2-post-lifts/weaver-w-pro10-certified-overhead-2-post-lift/ http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Atlas-PV-10P The weaver lift is ALI certified, can be set up a little wider, and is a little cheaper...

Buying a house with my dream shop!

Not right now. I have a 52" zero turn mower that's getting pretty old. There are lots of things on my list to buy and a tractor is on it (I'm thinking a small kabota with a belly mower and loader would be a good compromise.

    Weld a Compressor Tank?

Or an R stamp.....been there done that. I had one pressure vessel crack after a weld repair; luckily all it did was shut down the plant for a few days and not kill anyone.

Buying a house with my dream shop!

We're having the inspection done tomorrow. I'll have to spend a little more time in the shop and check out the electrical and snap a few shots of the work bench and cabinets.

Buying a house with my dream shop!

Good advice, I'll mention this to my agent. Speaking of insurance, the initial quote included $15k of coverage for outbuildings. I told her that wasn't enough, so she "maxed it out" at $125k and it raised the premium by $36....I'll take that :)

Buying a house with my dream shop!

In the attached garage I'll have the wife's van, hopefully my truck (its 6'10" or so and would barely squeeze into the last garage, plus it has wide tow mirrors on it). Then I'll have my wood working type stuff in there, mower, kids toys, etc. Here are my trucks loaded up ready to move down...
