Is a whole house surge suppressor one use only?

Hi, I just bought an Eaton CHSPT2 Micro whole house surge suppressor. Are these suppressor sacrificial? Meaning once a surge goes through it, the unit is no longer any good and will need to be replaced? Thanks.

    Bendpak RJ45 fitment on HD9

I agree that the workmanship is shotty. The measurements are slightly off which creates this issue. The runway holes should have been drilled another 1/2" to the right. I have a utility trailer on the lift right now, and it actually scares me to try to roll the jack because the drag it creates...

    Bendpak RJ45 fitment on HD9

My HD9 was purchased in early 2010 and the RJ45 was purchased last week. If you use the runways at the widest setting, i don't believe you will encounter this isssue. I may have to go with that option because the jack does not slide very smoothly when it is wedged to tightly between the runways.

    Bendpak RJ45 fitment on HD9

Hi All, Did anyone else have to adjust the width between the runways on their HD9 lift in order for the rollers on the RJ45 to fit on the channels? I have my HD9 set to the narrowest width and one side of the RJ45 was riding up on the channel. The RJ45 had no further adjustment to bring the...

Lifting Bendpak RJ45 rolling bridge jack

Hi All, I just picked up my Bendpak rolling bridge jack from the freight carrier. It weights in at roughly 300lbs. If I don't have an enging lift to place the jack onto my lift ramps, does anyone know of any other way? It might be a struggle for my wife and I to lift that much. I was thinking...

    Outer garage seal issues

Hi All, I had a hi-lift door installed a few months ago and ever since then, my outer garage door seal has begun to curl when the door is raised. This is what it looks like: The seal has now begun to tear from the constant curling. If I replace this seal, will it keep doing this? Also, is...

    recessed lights on exterior eaves

Hi, What type of recessed lighs are designed for exterior use in the eavetroughs? I looked at my local Home Depot, but none of them specifically mentions exterior usage. The closest one I could find was a recessed bathroom/shower light. Do they need to be IC rated? Thanks!

convex mirror mounting (when using a lift)

Hi All, For those of you with a lift in your garage, where and how did you mount your convex mirror? Some mirrors have a bracket on the back for mounting at an angle while others simply hang on the wall. Which is better? Any pictures would beneficial. Thanks!

Glossy epoxy floor after the fact

Hi all, Is there a product that will give me a glossy look to my epoxy floor? It is the Rustoleum epoxy and was applied about 4 years ago. It has always had a flat look to it, but I see all these on this board with a shine that I like. Thanks.

Uses for extra air hose reel?

Hi, I have an extra air hose reel (manual crank type) lying around. What would you do with something like that? I was thinking of using it to wind a water hose into the garage or an extension cord. Any other creative uses you can think of? Thanks.

    air pressure at impact gun

Hi all, I am a bit confused when I hear "the air pressure at the gun should be 100 psi". I have a gauge hooked up to the impact gun, and it reads 100 when the trigger is not pressed. However, when I depressed the trigger, the gauge drops to 80 psi. So, which one is it? Thanks!

Weld quality using a Harbor Freight welder

Hi, Have any of you ever welded with both a quality welder (ie. Lincoln) and a low end unit, like a Harbour Freight? All things being equal, do you notice higher quality welds with the better unit? or can you weld identically? I am most interested in responses with the flux core or mig...

Air impact not putting out full ft lbs?

Hi, I was using a brand new air impact yesterday and it doesn't seen to be reversing at its stated 550 ft lbs. It is a brand name unit, attached to 100' of hose to a 4hp compressor with a 20 gallon tank. I have the output pressue of the compressor showing 85 psi. It would not turn a lug nut...

    NEW Prototype BendPak RJ-45 Jack

I called Bendpak about 6 months ago when I was going to get the RJ45. They said if you want the low profile design, you need to specify it when ordering through your retailer. At the time they were also getting rid of the plastic sliders in favor of steel roller wheels, so I didn't buy at the...
