    Barn Living

We lived in our shed for three years, fully approved kitchen, bathroom and laundry and were very comfortable. We now use it for a boys room and my wifes craft room plus my workshop. Had the mortgage down and then we thought we should build a house. 18 months later owner building we had a big...

Laying a hot mix drive cold (ideas needed)

Good point Burl. It is summer here now, today was relatively cool and a sprinkle of rain to help. Might try the jack hammer on the big lumps and roll it. I have another truck load off road base due tomorrow, see if it flattens it out a bit too.

Working on your own - DICEY but FUN!

I was moving my lathe using machinery skates when I decided to just give it one more push to square it up to the wall when I tipped it it pinning me to the wall by one finger with my foot against the skate to stop it going on its back. called out for a while then decided I would just have to...

    boat garages

I had a dropped floor with same roofline as the rest of the shed for a boat that was 10' high to the top of the canopy. Boats gone now but it worked well, just back it in, no pulling anything off. The hill sloped down from the doors and made it easy to do with a little retaining wall to keep...
