    Carport Guidance

Sorry, the rafters would be placed 5' apart although last night he said 4' to make the math easier :-) Then run purlins perpendicular to rafters also placed every 4' up the length of the rafter.

    Carport Guidance

He said it's 20 but hardly ever has any snow and has a leanto wood shed with a 2/12 pitch using 2x6 roof that has held up for 8 years no issue

    Carport Guidance

I asked him about but he wants the walk through at 10' openings so he can get access to the firewood sections that will be right beside. Hence looking at a relatively cheap way of providing a cover

    Carport Guidance

My dad wants an open carport 20x30 with just a sheet metal roof, and of course very inexpensive given it is just covering some equipment, He wants to use four 6x6 placed at 0', 10', 20', 30' on each side and then use minimal rafters to span the 20' (using 2x12') and support roof. Since the...

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

What an amazing thread. I have a Nussbaum scissor that has been surface mounted for about 2 years as I wasn't sure where I wanted to install it for in-ground. I ended up putting a pair of 4posts on that side and now am going to install the single scissor on the other. I've just spent the past...

Q for those with Advantage 9000XLT lift

I have a friend who is looking at this lift along with two others. Based on the numbers the manufacturer provides for calculating the minimum height of garage, he is either just under or just over. He wanted me to ask a couple questions for anyone that has the Advantage SS9000XLT 4 post lift...

    Garage Floor - SwissTrax

First off, want to say that I appreciate this forum as I've learned a lot from all the members, great resource. I researched and read on this forum about various options before choosing SwissTrax for my garage. RD also has a nice product but in the end I felt ST was the better choice for me...

Garage with loft plans for Pierce County, Washington

I just built a 28x28 shop by myself in Pierce Co and it was pretty simple. I drew up the plans myself and met with the PC engineers to address any areas they wanted. Because I'm also building a house, I couldn't build the shop as big as I would have liked. My friend who is also building put a...

    Gladiator brand stuff

I have about 10 of the 30" Premier, 2 Premier modular, and 4 extra large cabinets. But thanks for the tip on woot as I picked up a few more of the 24"ers. Thanks :-)

    Gladiator brand stuff

Really don't care for the diamond plate either but picked up a bunch during BlackFriday. Got 9 of the 30" wall cabinets, 2 of the premier rolling 24", and 4 of the extra large cabinets. It definitely dresses up the garage

Building my own shop.. Save money?

Just do it. I just bought land and am building our house and along the way I built a 28x28 shop and all in I was about $11k. I dug out for footings and hired out the concrete work and then did everything else. If you have time then do lots of reading and do it like you want. There is a guy...

Race Deck vs the other guys

@Topdwnz I'm starting the journey you were on awhile back. Thanks for sharing I am building a new house and want to start out with a nice garage from the get go. I've read so many threads here and bounced back and forth between RD/RT. I think my first choice was going to be Ribtrax but the...
