68x27 automotive performance shop at home

I have the same problem with my lift an I'm a short guy. The best thing I have found in the meantime is using rollaround mechanics seats and then just setting the vehicle height lower. Much better than trying to spread eagle under the vehicle at too low of a height.

    Check my sub panel plan

I used southwires' calculator. I used 100' run of 120v that has 100 amps and <3% loss.

    Check my sub panel plan

All wiring and panels are within the same 30x50 metal building. The current service panel is 200 amps. I am adding a subpanel on the opposite end of the building that I want to have 100 amps. The length of the run from panel-new panel is approximately 90'. Total length needed is estimated at...

    2 post lift location? 23'6"x60'

I would put it nearly all the way to the back allowing room for tool box/work bench storage.

    buying steel? variable prices?

That's messed up because our scrap price has dropped from $210/ton to $150/ton within the last month. I would think the new price would follow. I'm not too far from you in OK.

Interesting....I have a Tennsmith that looks very similar. What is the foot lever for? Is that for additional stability?

Radiant heater - my results/monthly cost and review

I won't be able to comment until next winter, but I just purchased a 45k btu radiant heater to put in my garage. I fell victim to the bigger is better philosophy. My garage is about 1000sqft with only 8' ceilings. We'll see how it works out or if I start melting stuff :(

    Heater for 2 Car Garage

cagullett and I seem to be in the exact same situation. - 8' ceilings and minimum height - attached garage concerns for proper ventilation I too have been eyeballing heaters from Northern Tool as well. My research: The minimum height for the Big Maxx is listed in the installation manual as...

Welding: Blowing holes in sheet metal

I am not a professional welder, but I believe you should be using 75/25 (Argon/CO2) and not 100% Argon. If you TIG, you would need the 100% Argon.

New (to me) compressor needs work...could use some help

Well I have pretty much given up on this one. I got a porta puller abd wedged it between the tank and the pulley. The pressure was scary and I could see movement in the correct direction for the pulley. Unfortunately it sprung right back to the same spot even after multiple attempts. Got...

New (to me) compressor needs work...could use some help

Newest update...I bought a dial gage to check the actual runout of the crank. It is only about .04" at the entrance to the crankcase and .09" near the tip where the pulley mounts. It sure does not look like much to me, but the pulley has .0475" runout when installed. Whattaya think?

    Plastidip Opinions

I started by blacking out the bowtie but ended after doingd all the chrome trim on my 04 suburban. Those pic you can see the bumper, grille and door trim that is now black. I like it a lot and it was super easy. I didn't even tape it off first. Just peeled off the overspray. It has only...

New (to me) compressor needs work...could use some help

update... I changed the oil, bought the square d 8911 (hd didn't have 6 Gage SO cable I was going to hook it up with), 6AWG cable to run to the compressor from the breaker, safety valve ( already had 1 on input side of second stage) a gauge, and a Hubbell 69JF8LY2C ( may be too small...
