We use a ratchet strap tie down from one side the other, covering both lids. We live in the woods so critters, especially raccoons are the big issue.

Good on the 1/4" thick top, I've had several Handy lifts (had a bike shop for 40 years) and the tops on those always bent. And the Handy is known to be as heavy duty as you can buy. Those Harbor Freight ones are scary, very narrow.

I use a 10" or 12" peg board single hook, works great on my peg board above the work bench. I also have one of those plastic one that screws to the wall, it has been going for 30+ years and still going strong.

Stains on my shop floor are a badge of mechanical honor!

I've owned 4 or 5 Handy lifts over the years, still have 2. No issues in everyday service department use.
