    This is fishy as ****. If the tools legitimately were purchased at Home Depot, go return them. They usually will do it without a receipt for store credit. It sounds like you bought them somewhere else (not HD) and now want to take them there and get money. Thats not ok...

    Kryptonite type U-locks can be cut rather easily with a pair of 2 foot-ish bolt cutters. cuts half way then snaps in half the rest of the way.
