    Fun Starts...

Consider closed cell spray foam on the walls first, then fiberglass on top of that. I did that on a similar structure and it worked great. Really tight and no wall sweating. I couldn't tell from the pictures if it is already insulated.

    Throne Problems?

I have two of these installed on older toilets. They work, no more flapper. No chain to hang either. Install time about 10 minutes.http://www.amazon.com/MJSI-HYR270-HydroRight-Drop-Converter/dp/B002NKRR7Y/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1273934721&sr=8-19

Need Advice- Cost plus bid / cost +

Better ask, my bill for cost plus also had labor added to materials, then 10% on top of that. The 10% is about standard in our area. I prefer this over a package bid.

    Insulation Help

Use closed cell foam and you won't need a vapor barrier. Then use fiberglass blankets to fill the remaining wall cavity. This is what I did on a building similar to yours. I have osb interior wall also. The spray foam is well worth the money with the exterior metal walls. It really seals things...

    OSB Exterior

Use oil based primer for the first coat or two. Water based primer for the first coat will mess it up.

cheapest way to wire a 18x20

I put in a separate service from the transformer. The minimum bill is around $19 a month. It got up to $30 something last winter with the heat pump set for 60 degrees. Ours is a farm shop so power is tax deductible. It was easier to have a separate bill.

    Options for the walls?

I used OSB on the interior walls of our 30x40x14 barn. I painted with 2 coats of kilz oil based primer and 2 coats of latex simi gloss. This has work good for us. I put it up with deck screws.

    Fujitsu ductless mini split

I have a Sanyo ductless mini-split inverter system 18000 BTU in a 30' x 40' x 14'H. It does a great job heating. It was installed in Dec. 08. I did everything except connect the tubing and pull a vacuum.

    Electric Heading for a new 1.5 story 28' x 36' garage

Look at the zoned ductless split inverter type heat pumps. I have a single zone in a 30' x 40' x14'H garage and it is great.

Insulation for a pole building questions

Closed cell spray foam works good on metal wall. I have it on a 30 x 40 shop. I also added R-19 fiberglass batts with OSB on the inside walls. I used white metal like the siding for the ceiling and had fiberglass blown in overhead.

    power main

My extra meters for a barn and a shop are $18.73 per month minimum for 0 - 54 kwh. The meter / account fee goes to $12 and change for over 54 kwh in a month plus the usage charge. We can add additionals for the same charges. Last month my shop bill was around $66 due to heating because I'm...

    power main

Put in a seperate service. Most power companies where we live will give you a meter base. The 200A panels with breakers at HD or Lowes are only around $125. You should be able to build a power entrance, including the panel, for less than $350. I just reworked one on an old dairy barn for less...

I paid $2.89 in Sep. I thought it would be down by now. They are gouging us.
