Putting G-Floor, RaceDeck Tiles etc. on a vertical surface ?

I've screwed my Racedeck to my ramps... So onto wood. It's not bad at all if you use a washer or don't go too deep. I would probably do this with diamond plate or sheet metal instead though...

    From an F to a C+ - ongoing redo

Thanks. I did not have a pic of the ugly garage "before" without the 2002. It had just come back from repaint so part of the mess was re-assembly.... Those are indeed too big tires (195s) but mostly ill-fitting wheels (offset sold to me as correct, but not). Specs - bog standard 73 but Fuel...

Does a large garage or quality out building increase your property value?

I went from a 2 car to a 5 car by going deeper and higher (stacking too). Double the square footage... The property tax hit was not very significant because this was non-AC area. Check local laws for what counts and does not ? The extra value to the house when we sold was....Zero. Broke my...

    From an F to a C+ - ongoing redo

I've asked a bunch of questions on drywall, racedeck etc recently.. figured I should show what I've done with your advice. Started with the mess seen around the 2002.. Wood paneling, hidden with posters.. Yanked that out and exposed old damaged drywall... Repaired that over 2 weeks...

    Racedeck fitment/tightness issue

Yeah they're gonna exchange it - good customer service... I was wondering if I could avoid that and move on with my project but looks like there is no fixing this... Hopefully what I get looks different - if it's the same batch, well....

    Racedeck fitment/tightness issue

Just checking here before calling the mothership... I just got a set of charcoal and silver tiles... The charcoal are all fine. The silver are all "bad" to various degrees... The tile has some plastic extrusion in one corner that needs to be scraped off (not a huge deal but annoying since they...

Vinyl flooring OK over bare cement?

Just thought I'd mention I once jacked one side of a car over vinyl tile - and the pressure of the car resting on the 2 outside tires caused the tile to slip (glue and all - the tire grip moved the tile off the floor despite the glue, onto another tile) and the car to fall - thankfully not over...

    RaceDeck Under Layment

Had one garage bay in racedeck with no underlayment. "Clickety clack". Not a huge deal but it's noticeable. I did another bay with landscape felt underneath. Honestly, not that different, maybe 30% less noise... I then experimented with the thin rubbery underlayment you put under laminate...

Has anyone ever stacked race-deck or equivalent?

That is a better and cheaper idea... Sometimes I cannot see the tree in the forest....

Has anyone ever stacked race-deck or equivalent?

I was wondering if you have ever heard of stacking racedeck tiles? I need 1.5" of ramp around my scissor lift (my very low car is gone, my wood ramps are fugly). I'm gonna deck the garage floor.. I figure if I deck one layer around the lift, and do a ramp surrounding the lift with a second or...

    Suggestions for drywall

Exactly what I was thinking... But in theory the old paper is still good for adhesion right ? I did 2 test paint spots and will see what it looks like tomorrow ! Thanks a lot guys, I was about to waste time and money !! Now I need only 3 sheets of 4x8 instead of an entire garage worth !

    Suggestions for drywall

I never thought of that until you mentioned it... It looked so brown and the backside looked like it did not have paper at all, but maybe it peeled off when it broke off, so I assumed it was installed backwards, but that seems like a pretty stupid mistake to make, so you must be right. If so I...

    Suggestions for drywall

You're killing me! I spent a week end removing wood panels and nails, I'm not putting OSB back there :-) I'd rather not rip out the current stuff if possible. It goes all the way up on one side, just want a clean wall with plaster facing me, not paper... Is it terrible to double up?

    Suggestions for drywall

I inherited a pretty sorry garage with the new (old) house... It seems there were areas with exposed studs/broken sheetrock, areas with just drywall (seemingly installed backwards with paper facing me? or am I getting that wrong?), and areas with the drywall plus wood paneling over it !!! Some...

Attaching threaded rod to a ceiling beam ?

Why didn't I think of that ? I always jump to the most complicated solution ;-) Great thread, inspiring, but realistically I won't got as far as you went ;-)
