Which DeWalt 20v Battery to buy?

My favorites are the DCB240 and 230 (4ah and 3Ah). Those are the compact single 21700 cells. Its a little bigger then the 2Ah compact but the added size is actually a benefit since it makes for a more stable base to stand the tool up. Lasts a lot longer then the 2Ah and the price is not too...

    Paint storage

I had paint old paint cans rust thru the bottom even if stored indoors. The paint cans with lids you hammer down never seem to make good seal long term, usually end up drying out in a few years. I transfer touch up paint into plastic mayonnaise jars. I wrap the jar top with 3-4 layers of...

    Workbench rubber mat

I use a silicone mat on my benchtop that is made for those blackstone griddles. it doesn't cover the full top as its only 36"x22" but its been a great work surface. it has a small lip to contain any spills and keep small parts from rolling off the top. Its a high visibility orange so its...

How close to garage door for mini split?

When I raise my door, even if for just a few minutes, all the cold air instantly rushes out and is replaced with hot air. it takes over an hour to get back to where it was before. True all the objects and hard surfaces will remain cool but the sheer volume of air in the garage that was...

Do all top tool chests have lids that open?

Top chests have a locking bar that slides up/down along the back wall of the chest. This bar locks the drawers when the lid is down and unlocks when the lid is up. You can remove the bar so that you can open the drawers when the lid is down but you will lose the locking function with the key...

This is the tool missing from every tool kit...

change direction of ratchet? you mean like a flex round head ratchet so you an move the handle to any angle? how is it going to multiply speed? sounds like its going to need a gear set and you would need to hold the middle part still to get it to work. So you would need two hands to use (one...

    Romex over drywall….

instead of running a wire to the switch, have you considered using a wireless switch? This way you only need to make the run to the lights. bonus is that you can also have it on schedule to automatically turn on/off.

    3” OD pvc? Pipe

use a heat gun to soften the 2-1/2" pipe and while its pliable push it onto your blower. It will stretch and when it cools it will be a snug fit. You can mist it with some water to cool it faster.
