I got a craftsman drill press with an 8 step pulley and I was trying to put it back together but the pulley on the motor was broken and I tried looking online to get a replacement but I couldn't find it anywhere.
Anyone have any ideas where I can buy another 8 step pulley? I've checked ebay...
I noticed that my saw's arbor has some side to side play so I took it out and measured it. I noticed a maximum side movement of 0.004".

It's a craftsman 113 10". Is this something that I need to address or is this play okay? I installed new bearings and...
Finally got it off. I cut a slot at the top of the threads using a cut off disc then I heated the brass piece with an oxy acetylene torch.

I've tried soaking that sucker in pb Blaster for days now and I'm not getting anything! I can't hold down the threads at all. I don't want to damage them either. The knob and thread are off the planer so I won't damage the frog.
I did let it soak in PB Blaster for 2 days already but you're right about the threads. I was wondering because when I measured the diameter of the thread it was close to 7mm and I couldn't find the pitch for it when I used a thread gauge.
Unfortunately I don't have access to a torch.
I just got a #5 Stanley Planer and when I was testing it at home I was turning the knob that raises and lowers the blade when it came out. I checked the threads on the knob and on the planer but they don't look stripped.
What's the thread pitch on the knob? Or does anyone have suggestions or...
Finally got around to finishing it. Although I need to paint it still and develop the controller to let the camera and dolly move accordingly. Here are some video samples.
I'm making a time lapse dolly for a personal project.
It's taken me some time to get all the parts for this fabricated and put together but it's almost done.
The motor is a 2RPM motor, which I understand is extremely slow but that's because I'll be shooting still images as a pose to speeding...
What's your mesh like? I have noticed in the past with similar situations such as this that my numbers were way higher with insufficient meshes. It looks to be using solidworks so you probably can't do it, but if you can I suggest you refine the mesh around the hole very very fine and many times...
Several factors play a crucial role in the heat treatment besides just heating it up and cooling it. The biggest in my opinion is the temperature that you heated the metal up to. Because for example, you can heat it up to 900 degrees F and quench it right away without making it brittle. If...
Let me just say that I'll run more test tomorrow.
Anyways I ran this test using just a single beam as the rest would be equivalent so keep in mind that the loads and stresses I am giving you are PER beam.
Now based off a cantilever beam, applying a single load at the very end while making the...
