    Motorcycle Garages Only

I got a lot of information from this thread when I did my garage, but I don't think I've shared any pics. Here are a few pics from the last few years. I built the shop as a motorcycle shop, but it works great as a hobby shop and gathering place too. I've got 7 "boys" that I helped raise around...

The wood floor is awesome!!! It goes really well with the classic collection of bikes. Very nice shop!

    Door switch for thermostat?

That's a good idea. I still haven't mounted the thermostat on the wall. The installers left a spool of the wire attached to it so I can probably locate it close by. Thanks!

    Door switch for thermostat?

Thanks Rick and Eggman. At least now I know I'm messing with the right wire. I'll be sure to hit the breaker on the HVAC before I do any work. Thanks again. Dane

    Door switch for thermostat?

Sounds easy enough. I'll get a door switch and mount it to the garage door to sense when it is open. It sounds like I need to connect it to break the circuit on the red wire. I'm assuming if I break the circuit on the red wire the thermostat will deal with shutting everything down appropriately...

    Door switch for thermostat?

Thanks Travis. I think I can wire up the thermostat to a radio shack door switch easy enough. I'm just not sure where to tie it in to the thermostat. Is there a particular wire I should be looking for?

    Door switch for thermostat?

Hey guys. I've got a dedicated central A/C and furnace setup in my garage all running off of a programmable thermostat. Does anyone know of a slick way to tie a door switch to my garage door and to the thermostat to tell it to turn of when that door is open? Either that or a built-in shocker...

New garage project - need some help

The streetbike is a 1999 YZF600R Thundercat. It's my first streetbike and it's a lot of fun. Just put some new gears in the ****** and a shift kit for a little project. Good times!

New garage project - need some help

Nice bikes man! I don't regret my racedeck choice, but the epoxy is sweet too. But I knew I wasn't willing to do all that work or gain the skill to do the epoxy right though. If you settle on the racedeck, I'd consider doing the tiles in 2x2 sections so that it isn't too busy. That's just...

    My Motorcycle Shop Conversion

Yeah, the reviews were kind of mixed on that particular vac online, but I love it so far. Several complained that it had a bag, but it's optional as far as I can tell. I wanted one with a bag as an option so that I can use it for dust collection for the sand blaster. One of the coolest things...

    My Motorcycle Shop Conversion

Shaun, Don't wait too long. :) I had my kids on a Yamaha PW50 with training wheels when they were 3 and on one of those PowerWheels four wheeler before that. Kind of like this one. I picked it up cheap at a yard sale and just put in a new battery.

    My Motorcycle Shop Conversion

Thanks Derek. You have a good eye for detail! My mojo blocks had just arrived so I had them set there to see how they would look. They just need to get installed. I've been kind of holding off on drilling the holes while I round up half decent drill press for the shop. I've never used one of...

    My Motorcycle Shop Conversion

Hey Tom. Thanks for the compliments. I have been very happy with the results so far and have really enjoyed working in the new shop. I ended up getting rid of the Handy lift in favor of this one. I got it with all of the attachments including the ATV sides which work great. I have it back as...

    My Motorcycle Shop Conversion

Oh, one other note. Here are the major things still outstanding: 1. Black fridge to replace the crappy white one. I've been collecting stickers for a year now and can't wait to plaster them all over a new fridge. I've been looking for a deal on a side by side so that I can have ice and water in...

    My Motorcycle Shop Conversion

Boy, where to start. I've been terrible of keeping my post updated as promised, but I do have new photos. I've still got a few key things left to do, but I'm about 95% there. I was planning on doing an update on each key item and system as I put them in, but it came together in pretty big...
