Lowe's nylock score!!! Pennies on the dollar.

Nah, doesn’t work at 29210. I tried one box because I had to visit Lowe’s this evening anyway. Got one nut. Oh, well.

    The $11 Trailer Project

Yeah, the brakes can definitely go. You might want to insure the diff gears have been removed. They cause a fair bit of unnecessary inertia both staring and stopping if still in place. You did good!

I rented a mini excavator this weekend!

My son has two. A JD 35g and a JD 17g. I’ve had the 17g at my house for the last month adapting a special use bucket for him. It had 12 hours on it when he dropped off, now has about 28 hours. I’ve got to get one. Next to my tractor this is the greatest invention ever for property...

Holy sh@t! If chicks dig scars you are set for life! Glad to hear you are on the mend. Maybe you should look into subcontract work for medical implants. There is certainly enough money in it.

Yes, I repaired both forks. Nothing special about the procedure. I cleaned up the cut with a grinder and a die grinder. The welds were done with 1/8 inch 7018 at 135 amps. No preheat was used as the forks are a ductile steel and definitely not brittle. The cut damaged fork required around ten...

    Feedback on these welds?

Looks good so far. The mantra my welding instructor used was, “Watch the puddle.” Basically, if you can’t see the puddle you are just wishing for a good outcome. I’ve found that with mig especially, travel speed is also very important. Welding is a great resource for any diy’er. Good for you.

At the scrap yard this week I picked up a much abused set of 48 inch pallet forks for the 46 cents per pound current price. One tine had a ragged hole near the tip, while the other was mostly severed. Maybe trying to make a shorter set? Waste of a good resource. Anyway, I filled the ragged...

Squirrels under the shed. It's personal this time...

I too, have a .177 RWS Diana breakbarrel pellet gun. Very accurate although not as quiet as you might think. A .22 bolt rifle, subsonic ammo, and a decent suppressor are about the same. However, the big, really big difference is one is a firearm, while the other... isn’t. Don’t go shooting a...
