Thoughts. 30x45x12 is 1350 sq ft. I have 2 stick built garages 30x40x9 and 32x80x16. First answer is yes you can fit 4 cars in 1350 sq ft. But, space with cars, a work bench, lift and space around to work? 1350 is pretty tight depending on orientation of the doors, cars and lift. Gets...
Just finished my 32x80 with one floor drain. A slight slope around drain but rest is flat. I sealed the concrete with acrylic and squeegee whatever water is not close to the drain. (Prefer the floor to be mostly flat.) Squeegee takes a minute after a wash. Would not get too wrapped up...
The garage structure is now complete and am starting to fill it. Temp lighting is up (extension cords, lol) Started in on the primary wiring. I plan to leave it one big space for now until more certain of what goes where. I have plenty of things to work on though. (Wiring and insulation the...
Been a member here since Dec 2015. Over 8.5 years and am finally in the process of building the "Garage Mahal" or at least that's what it is to me. The building is a stick built 32x80x16. Landscape and concrete are complete at this time and now moving into the construction of the building...
I am with you. Mid 60's. This past weekend I had to pull out the materials from garage #1 for garage #2 alone. 320 2x6x16's, 120 sheets of 1'2" OSB and 18 boxes of vinyl siding. And I had to pull the 110 sheets of 7/16 OSB off the 1/2" first. (was stacked nearly 8' high to minimize space.)...
Fiber is over kill for the defined requirements. A Cat 6 or 6E run will easily serve the need. Good to 300 feet and 1GB speed. (Way more than your Internet speed) Direct bury versions are also available.
I literally have this exact garage with two exceptions. About 8.5 ft tall (8 ft stud with a 6" of concrete) and the 16x7 door is on the eave side. 32x40 with a space upstairs. Upper storage is accessed by a set of stairs outside. I currently have 5 cars, a motorcycle, snowmobile and other...
My garage I pre-purchased the OSB over the winter. Price locally has now increased to more than $25 a sheet more than I paid for it. At least 6 months before there is any relief.
I extended the WIFI service out to the garage using two RE6300 Linksys Range Extenders. My router is in the basement. One 6300 upstairs in the house and the other in the garage. Works perfect. Amazon Prime and Netflix and internet all available on 55" TV and laptop with a chromecast. Cheap...
Stainless seems like over kill. Even if you are 20 yrs old a galvanized will outlast you. My 2" well point from 1982 still going strong 38 yrs later. (Using a 3/4 hp Sears jet pump. Won't be finding any parts for it in the future.) The 1.25 point for the live boxes installed in 1978 is also...
100A at 240V for 450 ft with a loss of not more than 3% is 3/0 gauge copper wire per the Paige wire estimator. (Shows aluminum sizing as well)

I agree with Terry's recommendation though I would increase the size of the pipe. (1" or 1.25") The cost is negligible and it makes it easier to pull the wires.
