A/C overflow shut off required by code?

Yes, easy enough, I just have to find where plug/wire it in on my unit. But I'm also thinking one of those water sensors might give me even earlier warning

A/C overflow shut off required by code?

I'm guessing each state is different, I live in Arizona. But, does anyone know if there is a code requirement that an A/C unit have a secondary drain pan shut off switch?

    Salt in water heater?

Didn't see a plumbing forum here. When i drained my water heater, in addition to what seemed to be a relativey minimal amount of debris/rust, there appeared to be undesolved salt crystals. One guy at the plumbing supply house said the filter could be cracked and salt crystals were finding...

    Repairing/replacing hose bib?

doh! I should have known that wrench. Makes sense about pushing them together - offsetting the opposing torques

    Repairing/replacing hose bib?

Yes. My skills are pretty rudimentary compared to those here, like installing an elecrical outlet on an exterior wall feeding the power from the outlet on the inside, and replacing with a GFCI, so I can usually take things apart and put them back together the way I found them

    Repairing/replacing hose bib?

That's def a '360' on the side, so it seems the 1600 cartridge is right. I'm guessing the cartridge is firmly in place after 3 years of weathering Is what you mean by 'pipe wrench'. Also, is this the o-ring/washer I'd be replacing? However, as long as I have to take out the cartridge I...

    Repairing/replacing hose bib?

So in summary, after turning off water supply, unscrew that handle (the screw on the top) and replace washer?

    Repairing/replacing hose bib?

These came with my new house 6 years ago - lousy subdivision developer. They're leaking where shown. Is this repairable or should I just replace them with a decent ball valve unit (which should I get. Also, while I'm about average in my skill, I can follow directions. I just don't know how...

A/C cycles off before reaching temp, then resumes

The yellow and the common, right? I thought of this But to get to the terminals I have to pull the thermostat, would I still be getting power between the yellow and the common with the brains (t-stat) disconnected? Along the same lines, I had 2 other similar ideas.... place a 24v bulb...

Do capacitors and transformers have a shelf life?

i was re-thinking my question and then thought of the obvious (to me). If a capacitor or transformer will work under conditions for 5-10 years, why wouldn't those same components keep their useful life when properly stored? Unless they somehow deteriorate when not in use?

Do capacitors and transformers have a shelf life?

Short version - yes, I can keep spares stored inside, should be good for a few years? Heck if they work for 5 years outside and in the attic they could be good in my closet?

Do capacitors and transformers have a shelf life?

Last year when my AC went out (the fan worked but no action from the condenser outside) I figured, what the heck, lets run down to ACE and pickup a capacitor, figuring that if it wasn't the capacitor then it wasn't something I was going to be able to fix myself anyway. (yes, I know of the...

A/C cycles off before reaching temp, then resumes

So that box on my condenser just has the honeywell name on it. Also, how about this idea to test the t-stat...... Hook a small 24v LED from the "C" to the yellow. If the t-stat is working the light will be lit - whether or not the AC is running. Then, when I notice the AC shut off randomly...
