Minimum size for 2 car useable?

Think about having a little bigger door on the front also to allow pulling straight onto the lift as its positioned near the wall.

    "Chinese Lifts...?

For parking you should be looking at 4 post lifts. I got a BendPak HD9 lift 3 years ago and the only problem I had was the grit used to give you traction on one of the the runners was not dried and the paint bubbled and peeled. One of the big advantages of 4 post lifts is you don't have to bolt...

    Shop air lines

I was introduced to nylon air tubing with the push lock fittings while working in the machine tool industry over 20 years ago, it's so much easier and cheaper to do than screwing around with hard plumbing copper or black iron. The cheap kits have cheap fittings, so they have a higher...

In the market for a 4 post storage lift...need opinions on a quality brand?

I got a Bendpak from Northern, no issues. One thing to remember, that the length of the rails needs to be longer than the wheelbase of the longest vehicle you want to lift as you need to remember that the tire radius adds to the length. My extended cab 139" WB just fits comfortably on 165" rails.

    Poll Barns

Although not in MI, I had a Morton 30x64 built a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier with the building or the service during the construction. The crew that built mine was truly professional in every respect. Four work days from the time they dug the holes til they were done (I had the...

Basic lighting setup for 1 car garage

I just got some 6 tube high bay lights at HD for $80ea. without the T8 bulbs. They make the area under them suitable for any garage operating room.

    Need SK socket advice

Having a heavy coating of chrome on the inside working surfaces of a socket isn't necessarily a good thing. The working surfaces of a socket are subject to very high compressive stresses that could cause a thick chrome coating to flake away from the base metal. The flash coating on the inside...

    Vehicle Inspections (non-commercial)

The Tax state of New York requires yearly emissions and safety inspections, on everything including light trailers. I went for one on a snowmobile trailer and the inspector told me to just go out in the parking lot and "work the lights", he was never closer than 100' from it. What a waist of...

    liftmaster 3800 question

When I installed mine, I left the screws loose on the bracket that holds it to the wall while I was programing it but forgot to tighten them until I saw the unit moving.

New pole barn project for 2012

You might want to make it 13', remember that the height is measured to the bottom of the base board, you then pour the floor that will reduce the headroom available for a lift. If you are going to have someone build it for you, think about Morton, they did a first class job for a competitive...

    More compressed air system?

Definitely go with the Rapidair or other nylon tubing. I have my compressor in my basement and ran 80ft of 1/2" nylon tubing in conduit to my new building, and throughout the inside. I used all push loc fittings and made it a super easy install with no leaks. I've used this material for years...
