I have a 8yr old house that is really tight too. What I do is run the hrv system only when i start to get a inch of ice or moisture on my windows. Seems to help it not get so dry in the house. Of corse the colder it is the more I do have to run it. Otherwise it seems like a waste bringing in...
I live in MN and my horizontal venting faces the north side of my garage, I was having a issue when it would get real windy the exhaust would go back into the unit causing it to shut down. I called mr. heater and they told me I could put a 90 than a cap on top of that to help it. I never had a...
Yeah you want to put a epoxy down first. I used sherwin williams macropoxy than put rexthane over that. Holding up very well. 20 gallons of rexthane will do 9000 sq feet give or take . If you have any extra I will take it off your hands for you, I would like to put another coat down :bounce:!
another thing that works very good is taking a shovel of snow, throwing it on the floor. Than take a broom and sweep it around, it soaks up all the water and picks up the dirt also. Than I take a squeegy to it and it looks like a new floor. I got this idea from someone on this site but I cant...
I dont think that would work. You will have a lot of frost from the exhaust under the deck for one thing. Could you rent a hole saw for drilling through concrete and locate it somewhere else?
Well I went to the depot and scored big. I got a rite temp digital thermostat that goes down to 35* and it had a thing to control the temp swing up to 2 degrees on it. It was orginally $47.47 i got it for $11.03! :bounce: It was a open box and discontinued model. I hooked it up and it...
I know this was posted a while ago but I talked to Brad from mr. heater service today and he said the directions are not real clear on size , but it is suppose to be 4" when venting horizontal and it can be tipped down a little for condensation to run outside. I already ran 3" so its a...
I think i may have a bad thermostat. I noticed it kicks on or off when the temp only moves by a half a degree. So that would make sense for the really short cycle time. Someone was telling me honeywell has a cheap digital thermomstat that goes down to 40 over at the depot.
I have a big max 45k btu heater in a 625 sq foot garage. It has 3 1/2 insulation in the walls and 6 in in the ceiling. I have a ceiling fan I run all the time on medium. When I am not out there i keep my thermostat at 42 degrees. When my furnace kicks on it only runs for a minute or two than...
I have a big maxx 45k heater and i vented it out the back of my garage with 3" b vent. It faces the north so when its really windy the flames shut down inside than relight again. I am assuming the exhaust is blowing back into the unit so it is turning the flame off. If i put a 90 elbow with...
