Harbor Freight 44" Toolbox Caster Failure and Repair

Guys, to answer your question, I bought the wheel i did because I was looking for a red or black wheel to match the box. I just wasn't wild about the other wheels. Keep in mind that it is a Chinese box to start with. The caster frame was made in China as well. So I understand and appreciate...

    "custom tools"

I have several. In most cases it is for automotive uses. I had to modify a distributor wrench significantly for one of my old cars. Ended up grinding the thickness of the wrench, etc... I've had bolt issues where I had to grind sockets to clear (both shorter, and in some cases thinner)

Harbor Freight 44" Toolbox Caster Failure and Repair

I have a couple of HF 44" boxes. I have one of the older boxes with the darker red matte finish, and a I have a newer box with the glossy lighter red paint. I recently went to move both boxes and the rubber on the wheels just fell apart. This made moving the box both hard and dangerous...

    repairing intial install of epoxy

OK, so the area I coated (and now need to repair) is roughly 25x25. It took 6 gallons to do that area. So, sanding and re-coating would take roughly the same amount. That will leave me short for doing the rest of the garage (the garage is 50x50, and I am dividing it into 1/4 section)...

    repairing intial install of epoxy

Ok, so the only "correct" way to resolve the issue is to sand the floor and knock the shine off, wipe it down, and re-coat the entire area. By doubling up on the coating am I going to end up with a surface that is too thick?

    repairing intial install of epoxy

I am in the process of installing some Wolverine Epoxy coating. I've sent emails and calls to Fred, but my guess is that he was out of the office today as I have been unable to reach him. Since time is somewhat critical with regards to epoxy I needed to come on here and ask a couple of...

Diamond Grinder vs Stone Grinder - and what grit

Need to grind my floor to install epoxy coating on it. It is a 2500 sq ft slab (50x50). The slab has a power trowel finish on it currently that I need to rough up to install epoxy over The slab has no stains, no oil, etc... just clean concrete that needs to be roughed up. Checking with United...

    Prep for a new floor

So, I have read a lot of the threads on here where folks are prepping older spaces with stained concrete, etc... So, here is my question. On my current garage build, the floors are pristine. I've kept them covered during construction and they only have a few spots (a spot of joint compound...

How much force is too much when pulling wire through conduit?

You'd be amazed at what a difference cable lube will make. What I will say is that I have seen mule tape (the flat Kevlar rope used to pull cable) hooked to the back of a pickup truck to pull cable before :) . But, let me caution you. if you get into a bind one of three things will happen...

    High Bay T8's

All of the major mfg's make them. I found 3 at my local supply house. My issue was trying to find enough of them on the shelf. I am calling a few places around town to see if someone has all that I need. My garage is spray foamed, so there is no insulation on top of the fixtures. Its open...

    Flooring over plywood

I have a 600 sq ft area overhead that is 1 1/4" tonque and groove plywood. I'm going to use if for storage. Just wondering what folks found that worked over plywood. I assume I could go get some cheap paint, and just paint the floor to control dirt, or put a clear sealer over it. Just...

    High Bay T8's

In speaking with one of the folks here locally who actually build lights, they suggested a T5 HO. FRom what I have ben able to find, no one seems to stock hi bay lights. There are plenty of "regular" fixtures, but no high bay. I am weighing the option of the T5's, but it appears the T5's...

    Color Scheme

Hope to be ready to put paint on the walls in a week or so. I am currently kicking around the flooring and wall color schemes. Just looking for any input, and also any pictures of something similar. The shop is 50x50. Walls are 19' high. The back 1/4 25x25 is my tool room, restroom, shower...
