Picked up a nice little Athol no. 2 yesterday at an antique shop in N.H. The place was loaded with wrenches. Dbe,s doe,s ,ford, indestro in sets ,new Britain etc. hope to get back there soon.

Unscrew the nose one on the screw gun a little more your breaking through the paper. You want to just countersink enough to cover the screw head with mud. Any wide gaps such as in the picture should be filled with dura bond before taping and mudding

Yes they say beet juice is the way to go . High sugar content, won,t freeze . We used to use propylene glycol in hydrants to winterize them ,basically sugar water also known as RV antifreeze .they,re using beet juice in Canada on the roads instead of calcium! Sweet!

5/8 is fire code for a ceiling with living quarters above or an attached garage on the wall abutting the house. Sometimes they will require double layer of 5/8 for above living quarters.
