    Retractable Air Hose Reel Suggestion

I've got two of these. Both work great. Got them from amazon a year ago for $130 or so but now I see they're at northern tool for $99.

Looking for Pole Barn Builder recommendations

Figure out how far you can go between posts. I had originally planned and was quoted on a 30x40 pole barn. Then I realized I could go 12 feet between posts and I had the room for it. I got another quote to do it 30x48 instead; there were the same number of posts, trusses and holes to dig...

    think my compressor gave out.

They had a recall on some of those compressors not long ago. I think mine is a 20 gal and the motor burnt up about two years ago. I got the recall letter in the mail a few months ago, dragged the compressor out from behind the shed, dropped it off at sears and a month later had a brand new...

Baldor Grinder: Did I burn my motor up?

Sounds like a motor thing but you might check to make sure nothing fell down between the wire wheel and the guard. I know those baldors are like industrial grade so I'd be surprised if the motor burned up from using the wire wheel, not a lot of resistance there.

    My Compressor Score

I'm surprised it's an oiled pump. I've got a 20gal craftsman that is oil-less. It's crazy loud. How's the noise on that one? Regulators are cheap, I'd recommend a regulator/filter combo like a campbell hausfield or jet. Mount it on the wall next to the compressor if you don't plan on moving...

    Kudos to SK

That's great to hear as I've got a 1/2" gear wrench I need to send in. What are the steps I need to do to send it in? I've been hearing a lot of good things about SK lately so I'll definitely be looking to them for new tools in the future.

    Problem with Rustoleum paint ?

I had the same problem with a can of sail blue this week. I cleaned the tip several times and even used tips from other cans including a krylon can but they all got clogged after a just a little spraying. I guess it's the paint not the tip itself.

    Woodworkers...cabinet makers....help!

I'm curious what construction method you used. I just built a few cabinets with a kreg jig and I've never made anything like that before. If the cuts are made square and all the corners are square the end cabinet pretty much has to be square. Sorry I'm of no help I'm just wanting to avoid any...

    disassembly help with small vise

Well the slides were held in with a press fit. I was able to wiggle them loose with some wd-40 and channel locks. Now I can really clean this thing up nice and remove the surface corrosion on the slides. Thanks for all the help Outlawmws.

    Champion Compressor . Part II

This makes me want to buy that 60 gal upright champion from the 60's I found at that thrift store in town. I didn't have the guts to bring it home as I had no idea on the condition. What do you do with all these compressors?

    disassembly help with small vise

Yeah that does look very similar to mine. I wish mine had a swivel base like that one. No to the holes on the front of the dynamic jaw. That'd be too easy. Just by looking at it though, both of the slides have to be removed in order for the spring clip to be slid out of the way for the...

    disassembly help with small vise

Very interesting info about the two tone vises. I'd never seen/heard of that. I was thinking that the slides may need to be removed. I was hesitant to try to take them off. Figured I'd check here first. There is no hex or slot for a allen wrench/screw driver on the opposite end of the...

    disassembly help with small vise

I’m stuck but I know I’ve come to the right place. I’ve got the dynamic jaw separated but now I’d like to be able to remove the screw and handle. I did my best with the pictures so I hope someone has tinkered with a vise similar to this one before. As you can see in the picture there is some...

    Pocket hole tool?

I've used the kreg on the cabinets I made for my garage. I've always sucked at making stuff out of wood but after a neighbor showed me how to use the kreg(and his table saw) I was making cabinets like a pro(well in my mind anyway). I'm already planning on making a few more. That jig on ebay...

    Building shelf above workbench

I immediately thought of using chains to support the shelf. Even though there's a little more work involved, I like the look of the pipe better. The pipes should be strong enough to support the weight too.
