    MaxJax Group Buy

Could you store a car for months on the MJ? yes...put the safety pins in and they take the weight. Not my first choice for storage though. I did have a slight and probably avoidable issue with mine though: the sides weren't lubed enough/worn enough to be slippery and after removing the engine...

Garage door opens on its own?

+1 most of the better brands use rolling code like automotive key-fobs. speaking of which, what kind of openers do you have and where are they? I have a key-fob opener for my newer chamberlain and the buttons sensetive enough that sometimes if I just grab a handfull of keys or stick my hand in...

Can I use A Twin Post Lift To Unload A Trailer?

In principle, it doesn't matter if it's lifting a car, lathe, conrete brick, or whatever. In practice, it does matter HOW it's lifted. 1. some lifts are more sensetive to loading only one side. Equalizer chain or cables would in theory even it out but not really what they're intended for. 2...

    Bought new got used?

If you paid for "NEW".... I got a new to me laptop for work...turns out it's a used unit. then again, I didn't pay for it and they're supposed to be rolling out new computers this year so I guess I can't say much.

When wrench sets skip sizes, how do they decide which to skip?

8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21 will cover 95% of asian car repairs. 8, 10, 12, 14(?), 15, 18 is a european thing and some domestics have picked up the banner as well. I've never used a 9mm or 11mm. I've never seen anything manufactured to use it. 7/16 and 11mm are just close enough to round the...

    2004 navigator air suspension relay

Why are you looking for the relay? Relays are electrical. If it's going flat overnight, the problem is pneumatic: the system leaks somewhere.

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here^ The system is perfectly capable of running on 240v as we have in the states (240 hot to hot plus neutral and ground). I have mine rewired to run that way with the original relay. You just have to run the coil hot to neutral instead of the other hot...

Do you stock 7/16" bolts & nuts?

7/16? if I have some, it's only by accident. all my cars/bikes are metric except the firebird with uses almost entirely metric hardware. I'm with ya.

    Garage door track width question

what do you mean the distance is wider? From eachother? that's not so good (but not horrible since they usually have floating axles to allow side to side slop). AFAIK (and I'm no expert) as long as it lines up with the opener and is square to the wall it should be OK to move them. From the...

    Dannmar maxjax lift

Don't try to bargain down before you even go see it unless it's WAY overpriced. 1700 is certainly worth a visit to check it out. I agree that it's a little high considering you won't have any warranty and probably won't get anchors. My maxjax was delivered to my door for $1940 with the group buy...

just in planning ... thoughts suggestions?

Where in southern indiana are you? I'm in Columbus. I have a 24x40x10 pole barn with slab (non-foundation). we just got the house but the garage has been up for 8 years and has no issues. I will say it's full with a daily driver, project car, summer car, few bikes, and a bunch of boxed stuff...

    glycol vs city water

If it acts like automotive ethylene glycol antifreeze, 70/30 has the best freeze/boil protection but 50/50 is plenty and has much more heat capacity.

What to do about fumes and dust from autobody work

+1 I've known guys that do bodywork for a living. You don't grow old doing body work without a good mask used properly.

    Another for Rocksolid Flooring

Update: It snowed last night as some of you may have heard. I stepped on the floor this morning on the wat to the car after tapping my boot on the wall to get most of the snow off and just about did the splits. 1st half dozen steps were like a drop of water on a hot frying pan...all over. after...
