    Drill bogging down internally

ok, just watched a video where the commutator was causing too much resistance. I'm going to clean that up.

    Drill bogging down internally

I did everything suggested. It's not as bad but still slow and an immediate weird smell and white sparks flying inside. I'm beginning to wonder about the switch.

    Drill bogging down internally

    I'd say it's nearing 25 years old.

    Drill bogging down internally

Checked the bearings on both ends of the motor and they turn freely. Brushes are good. Commutator segments are clean and isolated from each other.

    Drill bogging down internally

I have an old Craftsman 1/2" electric drill I bought when I was a teenager. I was just using it and had noticed the last few times that the motor was having a harder and harder time turning. Well now it's at a near standstill. Yes, I've smelled some warming up but stopped. I wouldn't think...

    Compressor Pump Piston Rod

Here's the next question. The dual stage pump, it's the low pressure rod which has failed. Can I remove the rod (might as well leave the piston in the bore i guess and hope it doesn't work it's way down) and just run the thing with the high pressure piston?

    Compressor Pump Piston Rod

Campbell Hausfeld 80 Gal Compressor Pump model: FP070000AV Motor Number: BM74 I verified that the rod was knocking against the crank. Do these things not have rod bearings?

Air Compressor Intermittent Failure to Start and Run

50 Amp breaker fixed the issue. Thank you very much. New problem. Sounds like a rod is knocking....loud.

Air Compressor Intermittent Failure to Start and Run

Yes, the loud hiss does happen when the compressor shuts down. I will have to look at the wire size and get back, however I did myself install that breaker box and I 'usually' go overkill on the wire gauge. The breaker is Eaton BR240 40Amp. Model Number: BM74 Brand: Emerson Description: OEM...

Air Compressor Intermittent Failure to Start and Run

This is a possibility I did not consider but should have. Given the proliferation of Chinese goods in our country coupled with their very questionable quality and my refusal to buy 'Made in China', it should have been a suspect early on. QUOTE=redmondjp;4615463]I'd say that you have a...
