Keeping a table top drill press handy but also out of the way.

In short working to get my one car garage organized. Have a ton of tools crammed into this small garage that obviously get used on various occasions when needed. I don’t use this drill press a lot, but when I need it I need it. I was thinking of keeping it stored on this small workbench but...

    Harbor freight 44 cabinet legs.

In short thinking of moving around stuff in my garage and one of the things I’m thinking of moving my 44” box. Has two of the half height side cabinets on the side. Currently has a workbench on the top and gonna keep it plus mount a vice on it. By adding the vise I’m gonna want to get it off...

Think I know the answer but I'll run this by you guys anyways

Gonna have to pull the motor out of the 1968 Stingray to fix the fiberglass floor and firewall in it. Has a 454 big block in it. Everything other than the intake manifold is cast iron on it. I'm guessing it's roughly 700 lbs with the accessories etc. I have a cherry picker but man I'm awful...

    Harborfreight unsonic cleaner feedback

Checked for vacuum leaks and there are none. Basically what happens is if I screw the idle adjustment on the butterfly back to bring the idle down the engine will just stall. Have to have the choke on at that point to even have a chance to keep it running. 800 rpm is roughly the transition...

    Harborfreight unsonic cleaner feedback

Have an old carb that I need to go through again and considering this unit. Basically the old Marvel Schebler carb off my Granddad's Ford 8n. Tractor was slightly damaged in my dad's barn fire and needed to have tires put on the right side, a new distributor installed, new rear rim, etc. Got...

    Attic Access Hole Questions

You’re screwed. They have your money and unless you have the revisions and fixes in a legal document you’ll never get the fix from them Sans going to court. They have your money that’s all they wanted.

    CCTV camera cables? RG59?

Ethernet generally is rated to 100 meters (330 ish ft) but I have made runs longer than that in the past and they worked fine. So as long as you are using quality cable I don’t see an issue with cat 5e or cat 6 on a 1 gig link. If you are running along some high EMI areas like near transformers...

I think I know the answer but wanted to ask

Doing alittle fixing in our bathroom. In short installing an old work triple gang plastic box to house three switches. 1. vanity lights 2. shower lights 3. vent fan. Everything is running off the same 15 amp breaker. I am running switch loops from the various devices back to the triple...

Free floor jack. You pay shipping.

Just as I said. Basically don’t need this and rather than throwing it out would rather give it away. Works ok just got a newer jack that lifts higher. If interested PM me your address and we’ll figure out shipping/pickup.

Pros and cons of using flexible conduit in metal shop

Read his post again. This is in the CONs portion. I think he inadvertently omitted ‘not’ from his sentence.

    Breaker box

Agree, 200 AMP is probably overkill. 100 AMP panel should be adequate unless you are running multiple heavy items at once. One thing I can think of in this regard would be a plasma cutter. Need both the compressor and cutter going at the same time which could push a 100 AMP panel to the limits...

What is behind my wood paneling?

Thats probably close. Dry wall became pretty common after the Korean War. I would look to see what the oldest type of wiring you can find. Either in use or abandoned, that will also help date the place.

    First time homeowner garage

I could think of a lot of worst things to back up to. Not bad. Not bad at all. Looks like your far enough back to be in any real danger from some of the sluggers over there.

    Ideas on hanging hose reel

Pretty much the wherever you put it it will be in the wrong spot. Personally I would put it more toward the backend of the shop centered where your hood is most likely to be open. Like others said though it wouldn’t be handy to use outside then etc. Pick a location you plan to use it in most...

Question about converting an old barn into a garage

I was pondering if any of you have undertaken this task. Many of the older bank barns have drive in haylofts which have been reinforced to hold tractors and such over the years. Anybody ever take one of these old barns and turn the upper area into a garage/shop with lifts and use the former...
